I strongly feel as though Tag 2 genuinely had the purest intentions for long time fans of Tekken and players took the worst approach imaginable to that. It was a culminated love letter chock full of fan service nods and other neat *new* shit which flew over everyone's heads because they were taking online way too seriously. Must've been a punch to the gut for those devs when it nearly "killed the franchise". There was a bts video on YT showing just how much passion and hard work went into that game but I guess it was removed?
I assure you if they simply had released Tag 2 on Steam, it would have met a much different fate. Tekken 7 proved that, no matter how trash a Tekken game can be, if it's released on PC it will break sale records. So blame Bamco themselves for that lol. It's their own gut punch that made them feel bad about it, if they did.

it did feel like that to me but sadly i had to emulate it, i think out of every tekken game TTT2 was the one that gave people the most, and they tried to aim to high level of play too but they made the game hard, too hard. I think even though TTT2 to alot of people is the lowest point of the game's history, to me it's going to be that one underrated gem. the beauty of the levels, the awesome music, the game modes, the amount of customizable stuff, and the list goes on and on.... it's just so sad to see flop like that... i hope Tekken 8 catches some of its magic.

Lei is such a pure fun, be cool, enjoy yourself character. Never upset when I lose with him. Put on some slick tunes, go for dodges and jukes, try to use as many fresh moves in the match, feel good when you pull it off. Guess Jackie not as well known anymore, so people aren't as hype to be him in a game.
I walked out to "Your Sunset" in one of my MMA fights, never had the chance to play TT2 but I'm glad I heard the soundtrack on RUclips 10 years ago lol, such a beautiful song it is

I want to keep pushing my skills with her, and its no fun when I body people because they don't know the matchup. The best Xiaoyus are the ones who beat the good players who have good anti-Xiaoyu, and I want to be part of that upper echelon.

So i end giving enough room to think instead of just 50/50 the shit out of them. Of course, sometimes they are stubborn and i need to apply some pressure to make them stop pressing random shit. After like 8~10 matches (if the they dont quit) i already see them adjusting they gameplan, understanding my character and doing the right punish. I call it "the teaching sets". Some guys never learn, but some others make you feel proud on how they are developing against my character.
Steve Fox and Bryan Fury are my Tekken Staples. any tekken Game should include these two. Leroy Smith,while controversial with his gameplay,his design is top 10 in all of Tekken history.

Ever since I've played Tekken, from the first title to the last, I haven't been able to find the same satisfaction in a fighter other than using Steve Fox, to the point that I've tried to play other fighting games to find that same level of satisfaction, but I haven't found it yet. After playing with him for a long time it still never ceases to amaze me how well designed the character is. I have always considered Steve Fox one of the best character designs at the mechanic level that a fighting game could have and I think that many who have used him will agree with me and TMM, as well as the Steve mains. Agreed with your views on Heihachi, super cool character but he definitely has been dumbed down compared to previous tekkens… The part about execution and the 50/50 is true also, although if you’re prepared to risk going low which I do to keep the opponent guessing it’s better but if you get blocked then you’re getting combo’d lol.
@@jmc2830 it tells me the game overall has been simplified compared to previous tekkens by a massive amount, it now appeals to the more casual as well, where as previous games it really wasn’t. Competitive levels are crazy right now, a lot of players who’ve stepped up and been amazing, but also who probably could never compete now have the chance to do so because there are easier characters to learn with minimal execution, plus the pay to win dlc’s excluding AK (until the recent nerfs that is) It’s made namco a lot of money, Original tekken players might not like it much, but the more casual or new player base clearly do lol.
@@DRAKLOR_44 .... tekken is, and has always been one of the top games in the genre. with a franky absurd "pro level", not even taking that into account it still has a massive skill gap between even intermediate players and new players. there isn't a more complicated and hard to get into fighting game.. period. it's also the only one that doesn't mix things up with each entry allowing transferable skill from the last game. which is something a dev trying to appeal to casuals... just wouldn't do. look at street fighter, they make substantial changes with each entry to mitigate legacy skill. which is what a game "catering to casual's" actually does. even as it is now, mastering a character to a competitive level... any character, takes up to and over a 100 hours practice, let alone experience in game.. but it's "made for casuals"... gimmi a break. so they trimmed the fat on some characters.. you realize that having 50-100+ options in your movelist is normal for a tekken character.. removing even 10 wouldn't make a dint. and since movement and fundamentals are 80%+ of the game having an extra combo or two barely matters anyway. it's called balancing a game, it necessitates small changes and cuts.... doesn't mean the design philosophy has changed in the slightest.

@@DRAKLOR_44 same, tekken 2 was my first game. i stopped playing for 5 and 6 but have always had an interest in the competitive side, to watch i mean. then ended up returning semi-seriously for 7. pardon the attitude, i get a little protective at times. even though i do agree they have dumbed things down a little. i don't think it has effected the integrity of the game. it's still a huge game with so many possibilities. in other words, it could be so much worse when it comes to catering to newer players. so i guess i'm thankful that it's dna is still the same.
I play Hwo/Kaz/Jin so try to play Hwo more fundamentally. Totally agree with what you said about him. He should be more about keeping distance and whiff punishing, which he was in earlier games. His backleysh used to be rewarding because it wasn't cheap. Would love him to get an overhaul in T8.
I remember when they added him in Tekken 3 and this game was all about the movement Imo, side stepping was lethal and so rewarding in T3. Generally armoured techniques and rage drives are bs, and the upcoming heat system looks like it's gonna give us even more immunity moments while fighting.
My mains are the Mishimas and bears. I love the challenge of the Mishimas, and I love how dumb Kuma and Panda are. When I'm done sweating I have fun with the bears. I'm actually surprised that they're played so little, you'd think people would love the novelty and easy wins.

I disagree completely on Bob. He's my favorite Tekken character and I don't see his design or mechanics as the beginning of them being "lazy" and all the characters feeling the same. He's not played out really as a joke character. His personality isn't based around being fat and wanting food like he's Birdie in SFV. He was a thin handsome kickboxer with a huge fanbase but he couldn't beat anyone larger than him so he spent years creating what he dubs as the perfect body to balance both speed and weight and that he's proving to people that he's not a joke. And the character himself ended up being liked immediately and became top tier.
Ok but his take on Bob is pretty wrong. Because Bob's character isnt just "im fat but can do backflips" but its more so "I can do backflips and i'm fat". He chose to be fat because he is always outweighed in his fight matchups. He's not fat just because he eats a fuck ton but he's fat because he chooses to be. Kinda like professional powerlifters. They could be buff but they choose not to because fat is essential in powerlifting.
Man him talking about ttt2 king made me realize just how buff king has gotten in Tekken 7 compared to all the other installments. He's pretty damn strong now.
Mainman complaining about "cutesy girl" fighters being "80lbs" is so dumb. If you applied that to half the cast the game wouldn't make sense. If you're following that standard then there shouldn't be any women in the game.
@@xravenx24fe Bryan is very linear, doesn't have great pressure - you can jab or djab him out of most of his pressure. Loses his turn a lot and even his keep out tools can be punished by a good portion of the cast. He is not execution heavy, unless you are doing taunt setups. However, many of his tools have a very poor hurtbox - i.e. db3 and db4 won't connect while the character is literally next to his feet. He is upper mid tier cause his toolset isn't that great.
The true art of this game is how everyone loves tekken .. through the character that matches them the most Everyone have stories of their mains and it those stories or personal expierences that makes us love the game I play a few characters but only one of them i really love and enjoy

Chloe has one interesting idea and it's in her rhythm based strings. It's underutilized in her kit though, could've done way more with it. I actually hope to see her in T8 but with her concept street dancer design. Maybe she gets dumped by G-corp and becomes some kinda street rebel I dunno.
I picked chloe up and I like her more than my main, so hopefully she gets a slot. I am hoping for a stronger kit that looks aesthetically pleasing to the jpop choreography im now aware of how cool it can look.
Outside of Omen related combos I find Hei to be easier combo wise than either Kaz or Jin. Also due to Hei’s season 4 buffs to jab reach, his excellent df1, and insane wall splat potential I’ve found him to be easier than either Jin or Kazuya. I’m only a blue rank player. But at that level, his ability to pressure and lock down with mids has won me many matches. Not to mention his rage drive that gives huge damage off of a 10f jab.

As my mains are Bob and Shaheen, I loved how they played in this game. Bob has great pokes and one of my favorite moves in the game up,f 1+2. Then Shaheen is so awesome. His B3 is so satisfying to hit counter hit. Then counter hit snake step 1, into f2,3 is so clean to hit. And the tekken season 3 menu music is so beautiful with that piano rift.
I went back to Shaheen after playing a bunch of characters. It's very fun to play a character that essentially doesn't hide behind gimmicks. Play him for a while and your fundamentals will skyrocket.
Well, I can say there are a lot of Lei players, myself included. So even though he's little played, those who play him are extremely grateful for being able to use him again. Lei should be a staple in every Tekken

I was hoping for interesting opinion on Josie, but, unfortunately TMM knows almost nothing about her. Actually, she is good at a lot game aspects. Good pokes, good movement, good orbital, good mix-ups, good evasiveness. And her punishment is really great. She has from 10f to 15f punish, so your opponent should thing twice before using something unsafe. She has 50/50. It's her 13f 3. And It's also good. People say that she is crying baby. Guys, MMA fighters sometimes cry after victory or defeat, so what's the talking. Josie is fun to play.
I'm a Josie main too, and both of you are right. She has good stuff, but suffers badly against high skill players, especially SWS becoming more dangerous to the Josie player than the one getting mixed up. Her 50/50 isn't as strong as other character's 50/50, and while you can play her low risk, you're left with very poor reward, especially compared to other characters. She's fun, but there's a reason that most pro players put her towards the bottom of tier lists.
As a Xiaoyu main, I think your opinion is a little bit off. I'm a very respectful and safe Xiaoyu player who plays very decently without all the spinning an flips and stuff
Lol as yoshi main i aprove that comment. Gameplay online 10 hours. Gameplay practice mode 2 billion hours. But one thing i disagree is that yoshi mains lab other characters shit loads. Because the setups etc are quite different depending on the character. So most good yoshi players are pretty good at fundamentals. As for tiers yoshi is the only character with 3 tiers. D, C and S++++++ tier. Assuming you are a good polayer yourself. S+++++ - Opponent does not know the match up then no character can fuck with yoshis. Just flat out rips you apart and completely massacres any character. One launcher is basically enough to steal your bar with setups and traps. C - Opponent knows some of the yoshi stuff. Knows about some tech traps, can punish some of the punishable yoshi stuff. Then you will have to put much more effort and actually play clever and adapt to your opponents style etc. Use fundamentals, punishments etc. Play carefully basically. D - Opponent actually knows about yoshi alot, probably labbed the character. Knows some of the mixumps, knows the weak side, knows about techtraps, baits flash etc. The you got a big problem because opponent knows your shit. Here you have to basically grind with yoshi, play out of your mind and stuff. Yoshi is pretty cancer to play and do well at high ranks tbh. Imo Emperor and up ranks is real strugle for yoshi.
The thing about Xiao is that, yes. Newer players will get destroyed. Mid range players will learn how to deal with her standard unsafe bullshit. Mid range Xiaos then surpass that by getting her setups and tech traps cleaner. Advanced players have anti-Xiao tools, Advanced Xiao players will break that with even crazier movement. Pro players can shut down a Xiao pretty quick. Pro Xiaos? They know how to counter those anti-Xiao tools. But to get beyond those plateaus with her is a hassle. You have to literally break your brain and think about how far out onto the edge you will go. That's why Xaio mains look like they're frantically pushing buttons: They're messing with you. There's party mode, but then there's refined party mode. And don't get me started on more defensive Xiao mains. They're so slippery and they WILL get around you. But to get to that level is a PhD in itself. I'm only a mid level Xiao right now. My traps are clean, my movement is better... but people who are higher level than me just wipe the floor with me. She's annoying, but she isn't unbeatable. She's mid tier for a reason - as easily as she can get under people's skin, she can be countered just as quick.

I think you did a great job evaluating the gameplay side of the characters for beginners, intermediates and pro players. What i miss are other aspects to these characters like appearance, voice acting, ambitions and story aspects. Thats not your fault though, thats on the developers!
The character of Leo is meant to just be whatever one wants and I personally headcanon them as being non-binary, I've always loved their design and fluid combat movements. There's a lot of hidden potential with the stance transitions and the 3 parries they've got
I've been thinking this about Julia since she came out. Every time I play against her I just think 'these tools are fucking stupid'. Even with matchup knowledge, it's exceptionally difficult to defend against this character.
Considering my favorites are some of the most popular characters both design/story-wise and moveset-wise, I will never have to worry about the roster of characters in Tekken games, no matter how dumb the newcomers will be, the main question for me when it comes to a new Tekken game is, will I have enough fun to want to go back to it so often like I do with 3, Tag 1, 4 and 5/DR? or will it continue to get less creative, less innovative, less fun and less unique like it's been since Tekken 6? I'm hoping it's the former, but I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach that it'll definitely be the latter.
Recently try to main kazumi and yeah feels so nerfed... her key moves used to be stronger than the normal which compensated the lack of any other stuff. but now just fer 2 main lows for me feel like they are jin's ones but weaker, no high crush and no df2 on counter hit.
They over corrected with her in a big way because of Aslan. I really hope Zafina doesn't suffer the same fate. Instead of nerfing her they should improve character movement across the board imo.
Doujin playing nina at top 16 and defeating chikurin and chanel was unbelievable no one dares touches nina online because of execution and there he was playing nina and doing the absolute god combos with her
I don't get the argument of "I don't see this character, no one plays him". No, no one plays him at your level or at pro level maybe, but that's it. Don't forget that the majority of players are NOT pro or high level players.
Honestly, Nina has nothing on her. I've played her since T3 and you literally derive 0 satisfaction from spamming strings on subpar online connections. Also, they're still quite readable there. Could it be that a lot of the fan base is rather new to Tekken? Her animations should be most familiar to anyone playing since, say, T5. Either duck, parry or ss her, done. Also, her lows are trash, some even on hit. Rip queen.
I think Nina's a strong character, but yeah... spamming strings with highs in them isn't an optimal way to play her. She's still a beast tho. My buddy was a Nina main and he would thrash top players in money matches all the time.

Agreed with your views on Heihachi, super cool character but he definitely has been dumbed down compared to previous tekkens… The part about execution and the 50/50 is true also, although if you’re prepared to risk going low which I do to keep the opponent guessing it’s better but if you get blocked then you’re getting combo’d lol.

@@jmc2830 it tells me the game overall has been simplified compared to previous tekkens by a massive amount, it now appeals to the more casual as well, where as previous games it really wasn’t. Competitive levels are crazy right now, a lot of players who’ve stepped up and been amazing, but also who probably could never compete now have the chance to do so because there are easier characters to learn with minimal execution, plus the pay to win dlc’s excluding AK (until the recent nerfs that is) It’s made namco a lot of money, Original tekken players might not like it much, but the more casual or new player base clearly do lol.
@@DRAKLOR_44 .... tekken is, and has always been one of the top games in the genre. with a franky absurd "pro level", not even taking that into account it still has a massive skill gap between even intermediate players and new players. there isn't a more complicated and hard to get into fighting game.. period.
it's also the only one that doesn't mix things up with each entry allowing transferable skill from the last game. which is something a dev trying to appeal to casuals... just wouldn't do. look at street fighter, they make substantial changes with each entry to mitigate legacy skill. which is what a game "catering to casual's" actually does.
even as it is now, mastering a character to a competitive level... any character, takes up to and over a 100 hours practice, let alone experience in game.. but it's "made for casuals"... gimmi a break.
so they trimmed the fat on some characters.. you realize that having 50-100+ options in your movelist is normal for a tekken character.. removing even 10 wouldn't make a dint. and since movement and fundamentals are 80%+ of the game having an extra combo or two barely matters anyway. it's called balancing a game, it necessitates small changes and cuts.... doesn't mean the design philosophy has changed in the slightest.

@@DRAKLOR_44 same, tekken 2 was my first game. i stopped playing for 5 and 6 but have always had an interest in the competitive side, to watch i mean. then ended up returning semi-seriously for 7. pardon the attitude, i get a little protective at times.
even though i do agree they have dumbed things down a little. i don't think it has effected the integrity of the game. it's still a huge game with so many possibilities. in other words, it could be so much worse when it comes to catering to newer players. so i guess i'm thankful that it's dna is still the same.

I play Hwo/Kaz/Jin so try to play Hwo more fundamentally. Totally agree with what you said about him. He should be more about keeping distance and whiff punishing, which he was in earlier games. His backleysh used to be rewarding because it wasn't cheap. Would love him to get an overhaul in T8.
I remember when they added him in Tekken 3 and this game was all about the movement Imo, side stepping was lethal and so rewarding in T3.
Generally armoured techniques and rage drives are bs, and the upcoming heat system looks like it's gonna give us even more immunity moments while fighting.
My mains are the Mishimas and bears. I love the challenge of the Mishimas, and I love how dumb Kuma and Panda are. When I'm done sweating I have fun with the bears. I'm actually surprised that they're played so little, you'd think people would love the novelty and easy wins.

I disagree completely on Bob. He's my favorite Tekken character and I don't see his design or mechanics as the beginning of them being "lazy" and all the characters feeling the same. He's not played out really as a joke character. His personality isn't based around being fat and wanting food like he's Birdie in SFV. He was a thin handsome kickboxer with a huge fanbase but he couldn't beat anyone larger than him so he spent years creating what he dubs as the perfect body to balance both speed and weight and that he's proving to people that he's not a joke. And the character himself ended up being liked immediately and became top tier.
So in summary, old characters = good, new characters and DLC = bad.
AK,Bob are not. And tmm used many "cheap","lazy","boring" to every kind characters.

Ok but his take on Bob is pretty wrong. Because Bob's character isnt just "im fat but can do backflips" but its more so "I can do backflips and i'm fat". He chose to be fat because he is always outweighed in his fight matchups. He's not fat just because he eats a fuck ton but he's fat because he chooses to be.
Kinda like professional powerlifters. They could be buff but they choose not to because fat is essential in powerlifting.
Besides the OG characters, I think the new characters from T4 and T5 really did age well.

Very true but I'd say they do it in very different ways. Nina a lot more knowledge check-y, bryan moreso getting absurd damage for little effort.
Nah Bryan's difficulty is SUPER overrated and his absurd number of CHs and plus frames make his offense so braindead
@@xravenx24fe Bryan is very linear, doesn't have great pressure - you can jab or djab him out of most of his pressure. Loses his turn a lot and even his keep out tools can be punished by a good portion of the cast. He is not execution heavy, unless you are doing taunt setups. However, many of his tools have a very poor hurtbox - i.e. db3 and db4 won't connect while the character is literally next to his feet.
He is upper mid tier cause his toolset isn't that great.

@@trinichinee6426 when it comes to gameplay i would say Bryan is much more technical than lei but at higher levels lei is very hard to use.
Chloe has one interesting idea and it's in her rhythm based strings. It's underutilized in her kit though, could've done way more with it. I actually hope to see her in T8 but with her concept street dancer design. Maybe she gets dumped by G-corp and becomes some kinda street rebel I dunno.
I picked chloe up and I like her more than my main, so hopefully she gets a slot. I am hoping for a stronger kit that looks aesthetically pleasing to the jpop choreography im now aware of how cool it can look.

Outside of Omen related combos I find Hei to be easier combo wise than either Kaz or Jin. Also due to Hei’s season 4 buffs to jab reach, his excellent df1, and insane wall splat potential I’ve found him to be easier than either Jin or Kazuya. I’m only a blue rank player. But at that level, his ability to pressure and lock down with mids has won me many matches. Not to mention his rage drive that gives huge damage off of a 10f jab.

As my mains are Bob and Shaheen, I loved how they played in this game. Bob has great pokes and one of my favorite moves in the game up,f 1+2. Then Shaheen is so awesome. His B3 is so satisfying to hit counter hit. Then counter hit snake step 1, into f2,3 is so clean to hit.
And the tekken season 3 menu music is so beautiful with that piano rift.
I went back to Shaheen after playing a bunch of characters. It's very fun to play a character that essentially doesn't hide behind gimmicks. Play him for a while and your fundamentals will skyrocket.

Well, I can say there are a lot of Lei players, myself included. So even though he's little played, those who play him are extremely grateful for being able to use him again. Lei should be a staple in every Tekken

I was hoping for interesting opinion on Josie, but, unfortunately TMM knows almost nothing about her. Actually, she is good at a lot game aspects. Good pokes, good movement, good orbital, good mix-ups, good evasiveness. And her punishment is really great. She has from 10f to 15f punish, so your opponent should thing twice before using something unsafe. She has 50/50. It's her 13f 3. And It's also good. People say that she is crying baby. Guys, MMA fighters sometimes cry after victory or defeat, so what's the talking. Josie is fun to play.

I'm a Josie main too, and both of you are right. She has good stuff, but suffers badly against high skill players, especially SWS becoming more dangerous to the Josie player than the one getting mixed up. Her 50/50 isn't as strong as other character's 50/50, and while you can play her low risk, you're left with very poor reward, especially compared to other characters. She's fun, but there's a reason that most pro players put her towards the bottom of tier lists.

As a Xiaoyu main, I think your opinion is a little bit off. I'm a very respectful and safe Xiaoyu player who plays very decently without all the spinning an flips and stuff
She kind of has to do that stuff a bit because she's not winning with combos. It's very well defined strength and weaknesses in her.

Gameplay online 10 hours. Gameplay practice mode 2 billion hours. But one thing i disagree is that yoshi mains lab other characters shit loads. Because the setups etc are quite different depending on the character. So most good yoshi players are pretty good at fundamentals. As for tiers yoshi is the only character with 3 tiers. D, C and S++++++ tier. Assuming you are a good polayer yourself.
S+++++ - Opponent does not know the match up then no character can fuck with yoshis. Just flat out rips you apart and completely massacres any character. One launcher is basically enough to steal your bar with setups and traps.
C - Opponent knows some of the yoshi stuff. Knows about some tech traps, can punish some of the punishable yoshi stuff. Then you will have to put much more effort and actually play clever and adapt to your opponents style etc. Use fundamentals, punishments etc. Play carefully basically.
D - Opponent actually knows about yoshi alot, probably labbed the character. Knows some of the mixumps, knows the weak side, knows about techtraps, baits flash etc. The you got a big problem because opponent knows your shit. Here you have to basically grind with yoshi, play out of your mind and stuff. Yoshi is pretty cancer to play and do well at high ranks tbh. Imo Emperor and up ranks is real strugle for yoshi.
The thing about Xiao is that, yes. Newer players will get destroyed. Mid range players will learn how to deal with her standard unsafe bullshit. Mid range Xiaos then surpass that by getting her setups and tech traps cleaner. Advanced players have anti-Xiao tools, Advanced Xiao players will break that with even crazier movement. Pro players can shut down a Xiao pretty quick. Pro Xiaos? They know how to counter those anti-Xiao tools. But to get beyond those plateaus with her is a hassle. You have to literally break your brain and think about how far out onto the edge you will go. That's why Xaio mains look like they're frantically pushing buttons: They're messing with you. There's party mode, but then there's refined party mode.
And don't get me started on more defensive Xiao mains. They're so slippery and they WILL get around you. But to get to that level is a PhD in itself. I'm only a mid level Xiao right now. My traps are clean, my movement is better... but people who are higher level than me just wipe the floor with me. She's annoying, but she isn't unbeatable. She's mid tier for a reason - as easily as she can get under people's skin, she can be countered just as quick.

I think you did a great job evaluating the gameplay side of the characters for beginners, intermediates and pro players.
What i miss are other aspects to these characters like appearance, voice acting, ambitions and story aspects. Thats not your fault though, thats on the developers!
The character of Leo is meant to just be whatever one wants and I personally headcanon them as being non-binary, I've always loved their design and fluid combat movements. There's a lot of hidden potential with the stance transitions and the 3 parries they've got

I've been thinking this about Julia since she came out. Every time I play against her I just think 'these tools are fucking stupid'. Even with matchup knowledge, it's exceptionally difficult to defend against this character.

Considering my favorites are some of the most popular characters both design/story-wise and moveset-wise, I will never have to worry about the roster of characters in Tekken games, no matter how dumb the newcomers will be, the main question for me when it comes to a new Tekken game is, will I have enough fun to want to go back to it so often like I do with 3, Tag 1, 4 and 5/DR? or will it continue to get less creative, less innovative, less fun and less unique like it's been since Tekken 6? I'm hoping it's the former, but I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach that it'll definitely be the latter.

Recently try to main kazumi and yeah feels so nerfed... her key moves used to be stronger than the normal which compensated the lack of any other stuff. but now just fer 2 main lows for me feel like they are jin's ones but weaker, no high crush and no df2 on counter hit.
They over corrected with her in a big way because of Aslan. I really hope Zafina doesn't suffer the same fate. Instead of nerfing her they should improve character movement across the board imo.

Honestly, Nina has nothing on her. I've played her since T3 and you literally derive 0 satisfaction from spamming strings on subpar online connections. Also, they're still quite readable there. Could it be that a lot of the fan base is rather new to Tekken? Her animations should be most familiar to anyone playing since, say, T5. Either duck, parry or ss her, done.
Also, her lows are trash, some even on hit. Rip queen.
MMSWE's opinion about Nina is biased and it always has been.
I think Nina's a strong character, but yeah... spamming strings with highs in them isn't an optimal way to play her. She's still a beast tho. My buddy was a Nina main and he would thrash top players in money matches all the time.
