your series has gotten me into crafting cause it made me realise that..I can do all the crafting and gathering stuff for free. I was told all the time that crafting is a massive gilsink and I dont have alot of money and yet here you are doing it on your complete own without touching the Marketboard. That awoke something in me and made me realise I dont have to spend gil
Awesome! Another tip then for you: Not only does crafting not have to cost you money but low level crafting/gathering can make you a lot of money. You can choose how much time you want to put into this, but there are a few simple things you can do using the materials you are already farming for yourself: When you make a starred GC turn-in make an extra one for the MB. Crafters who want to buy their way up will buy it from you. Gathereres/Crafters also buy their HQ gear off the MB rather than making it themselves. If you are making your own, make an extra to sell. Combat accessories also sell. Learn to check MB "history" and see what's worth the effort. It is a lot easier than people make it out to be and you might as well profit on your way up. Edit: And I don't know why people tell new players crafting has to be a massive gil sink. It can be but doesn't have to be. If you enjoy the process, then it's not a time sink it's fun.
@qamarqammar7629 adding onto this crating for the MB advice, I'll give two strategies that have helped me make a decent chunk of money and is a fairly consistent source of income if you keep up with it. The first is to look for things nobody is selling, mainly equipment. Make sure it still sells for a decent price normally and that it sells reasonably often. Then mark it up 10-20% what it normally sells for. Find enough items that fit this to fill your retainers selling space as empty retainer selling space is lost potential income. The second does require a Gil investment in most cases as it requires stuff that will most likely take more time than it's worth getting. It essentially consists of making very expensive glam and furniture items, which often have mats that are very hard to get that sell for a lot themselves. But even with the high cost of just buying all the mats, you can often times still get a 100k profit margin. Use tools such as Lolorito to search the market board for you for the items that have the highest profit margins at that moment on your world and Universalis to search your data center for the cheapest world to go to to buy the expensive mats from, further increasing your profit margin. Both strategies work well and will get you a pretty consistent Gil flow (I got 50 mil in about 3 months doing both) with strategy one being much more accessible and low risk with little market volatility or competition to worry about but less potential yields than strategy two. Strategy two is higher risk, more competitive, and usually requires significant Gil investment, but it boasts potentially high returns for this risk. One last bit of advice, try and be updating your market board listing's atleast once a day if not twice. I typically update them when I log on and before I log out.
@@qamarqammar7629 I think it's because crafting is a massive pyramid scheme lmao. The market board thrives solely off of impatient and convenience. There isn't anything you couldn't craft or gather yourself with enough time and dedication, but most people aren't willing to pay the time cost involved for it.
@@tgr3423 I think that can be true. I used to frequently hear people telling new players to just spend the money to get to the end. Fortunately I think that people are better informed now and when they pay to get past certain levels or hurdles it is a strategic decision (time vs money) rather than some kind of exploitation or magical thinking. There are a lot of players now with hundreds of millions of gil lying around who would rather not craft their own gear, or who hate gathering or some such. In which case the MB functions to at least redistribute money around, although it never really absorbs any of it. We need a very creative gil sink in this game and somebody has to invent one. The gold-plated mounts were funny the first time but how many is anyone really going to buy?
Soloing Thoridin is hysterical. Really puts into perspective how terrified he was after the fight because in cannon you DO seem to solo them all. The WOL being terrifying to others are moments I love in FFXIV. I know there are a few other moments but this is the top one

Fun fact about Thordan: The Towers mechanic actually just explodes in a really big area; it isn't the whole arena. Turns out the fight is a cakewalk as long as you kill him *before* the "Stun Player A and Player B has to pretend they're Harchefant" mechanic can happen, since it instakills you if not blocked (and there's nobody to block).

Really love the whole process of figuring out the gear and even using maps and portals, the final fight was especially awesome with how it was done on first try after that second boss problem. Congrats on finishing Heavensward!

Having logged out last year in the middle of Stormblood, I'll have to go back and carry on so I can really understand the impact of all the fights to come. Also love the Nier music.
I was still thinking of Thordan back during the HW launch. He did wipe my group before cause dps was really lacking... there were a lot of nooblets who still hasn't grasp basic rotations. The part where you had to lower the hp of that knight that was casting an arena-wide aoe and the two adds that each tank had to pull off, those were the deadliest back then. Because you cleared it once the first attempt... I wonder if they nerfed it to the point its easy mode or it was just that easy back then and I was just paired up with teams of noobs. But this is awesome. You are truly living the solo ff14 life. Big fan of isekais so this having a player do everything alone fits it so well lol
I will continue to follow the journey of Solo and Bill until the very end because I do it not for the glory of mankind, not just because its interesting to see just how much is skipped when using a full party. No i do it for only one reason, one purpose I continue to watch FOR THE EMPEROR
I just want to say as I catch up on your progress, I honestlt love that you're still using Dragon Quest music in Final Fantasy videos. The small juxtaposition is delightful for those that recognize it, and a minor novelty to those that don't. Well done Sir.
And 3.0 is down! Kind of expected Thordan to be a bit of a joke tbh- Bismark has always been the real wall of HW. What I DIDN'T expect was the downright hilarious method of beating the Bibliotaph. Regardless... we're with you, Rath. Until the End.
I like that in every meta way possible Thordan is never the hardest battle amidst his contemporaries, completely opposite his storyline which treats his absorption of Lahabrea and Nidhogg’s eyes and a thousand years of prayer to the Archbishop as a completely new threat that has to be taken down now or else will rampage.
Yoooo Thordan first try??? That's awesome! With Crystal Tower long behind you, and the one stream I popped into prepping for Baelsar's Wall (really curious about how Nidhogg went but we'll get there when we get there I suppose), I think the next biggest obstacle is going to be Susano, no?
"Let's jump into the final fight, no prep or anything just to see" Oh dude, this fight is a glorified cutscene, you've got this easy "And just like that..." Yep, g freaking g's my guy...Nidhog though... that's gonna be tough, can't wait to see how it goes wrong and how you break through it. I pray for your sanity and for your journey to continue

Man, this journey has been one hell of a ride. But.. I've loved every moment of it. I love catching you live. I love watching these videos. I love talking about your journey with friends and random strangers I meet during MSQ roulette. I am looking forward to further adventures of Solo.
Thordan was not ready for Solo powered by all that dew
Who is stronger:
- The almighty pope, powered by the blood of dragons and his twelve knights of the round.
- One book-case.
Amazing as always, keep on keeping on Solo we will see you Walk that End
-"Who...what...are you???"
-"I'm solo"
It's okay Rath ur allowed to phone in the video descriptions only I read that far down
It'll be our little secret lmao
Dont break my trust on this
Glad to be here. Can't wait for Susan in a few episodes!
I will continue to follow the journey of Solo and Bill until the very end because I do it not for the glory of mankind, not just because its interesting to see just how much is skipped when using a full party. No i do it for only one reason, one purpose
I continue to watch FOR THE EMPEROR
I just want to say as I catch up on your progress, I honestlt love that you're still using Dragon Quest music in Final Fantasy videos. The small juxtaposition is delightful for those that recognize it, and a minor novelty to those that don't. Well done Sir.
Every end is the beginning of something new. Congratulations for completing Heavensward!
This journey is awesome to see
splendid video m'lord. i hope you are never able to unsee regula van heracross
You've cursed me
i'm so sorry rath i was already subbed so i can't help any more
This is tragic thank you for your desire to assist all the same
Grandma (Destruction) is a fantastic choice of BGM for Thordan, also one of my favourite Nier tracks XD
This made me realize that I was sleeping on that silver scroll mechanic getting it will be amazing to start dawntrail with
A good way to start thy day m’lord
great job!!! my discord friends and I all really enjoy seeing you do this, best of luck with Stormblood and beyond.
I was hoping for you to go further and I am happy to hear you say you will!
i am so glad im not the only one who dies inside anytime i have to use say chat with others around
And 3.0 is down!
Kind of expected Thordan to be a bit of a joke tbh- Bismark has always been the real wall of HW. What I DIDN'T expect was the downright hilarious method of beating the Bibliotaph.
Regardless... we're with you, Rath. Until the End.
Finally subbed due to your insane dedication and because you give me joy clearing out all these damn side quests 😂
Solo only may be an adventurer on his own, but he's got all of us cheering him on!
Look forward to seeing you solo The End. :)
8:07 Somehow just made me think "By the twelve I´m tweaking"
The fact that Bismark put up more of a fight than Thordan... Idk who to be more scared of now.
The intro to The Extreme is dangerously fitting for Ascian Prime
the awful feeling of having to say chat random crap is so real
Yoooo Thordan first try??? That's awesome! With Crystal Tower long behind you, and the one stream I popped into prepping for Baelsar's Wall (really curious about how Nidhogg went but we'll get there when we get there I suppose), I think the next biggest obstacle is going to be Susano, no?
Perhaps perhaps. We shall see
I wish you luck. Stormblood got hands
I want you to know that your choice of music alone has caused me to replay Dragon Quest VIII and IX. You did this.
Thank you I hope you suffer the maps in IX for the hundreds of hours I did.
I love this series
And just in time for dawntrail, two new level 80 jobs….. and who knows what else will get implemented for lower levels…
Rath we love you buddy
Oh thank you :'^)
"Let's jump into the final fight, no prep or anything just to see"
Oh dude, this fight is a glorified cutscene, you've got this easy
"And just like that..."
Yep, g freaking g's my guy...Nidhog though... that's gonna be tough, can't wait to see how it goes wrong and how you break through it. I pray for your sanity and for your journey to continue
even I would fear a man and his bill
congrats!!!
"What are you?!"
"I'm alone"
Babe wake up new rath video
Thou dost forget, the true boss of Heavensward. My most Holy Sire, The Perfect Iron Colossus, He Who Is Most Holy, His Magnificent Light radiating throughout not only Dravania and Eorzea, but Time Eternal, Alexander!
PRAISE BE!
Congrats on the Heavensward, Rath!
Thank you jade :^)
Man, if you pull this off all the way to Endwalker, they should make a solo only option upon character creation. Just label it; "A true test of your skill and knowledge." Also, it should be available after you beat the game normally so you know what to expect.
Best way to start mental healtg awarness month. And pride month. And you know June is a busy month.
Just a little busy but worth the busy :^)
