The only content where you had to invite other players to was the only one that you couldn't even enter without other players. And now you've arrived at SB. I am blown away by how far your determination has brought little Solo Only.
When you alluded to Baelsar's wall being a wall I was like, entirely certain that it'd be restraint collar, honestly. I was like, direly certain - the fact that it wasn't is honestly kind of hilarious to me. That the dinky lil robot is what caused by far the most grief is surprising but checks out, that shit hurts. Either way though, fantastic job as always!
Weirdly, this series has really gotten me to play a lot of ARR and Heavensward content. I started in Shadowbringers and there is so much stuff I missed, because frankly its not important to do anymore. But seeing all the crazy stuff you get up to has really gotten me to go back and spend time doing old content. I own Dawntrail but I have yet to level any job past 90 because I've been so enamoured with all the level 50 - 60 things. It's really gotten me to stop thinking about the game in the sense of binary progression and more about personal goals, even if I didn't do anything impressive it doesn't matter if I had fun doing it.

26:00 Missile, in almost every FF game its in, deals damage based on a % of health. Some base it off max health, some off current health. I'm 99% sure that for enemies in FF14, they base it off max health. The green * next to the damage indicates what the game refers to as "Dark" damage in coding, which cannot be mitigated through any manner. It seems that the total about lines up with half your max HP too. The Staff next to damage numbers indicates magic damage, the Sword indicates physical damage. EDIT: I should've just kept watching instead of explaining, glad you figured it out! Still, good to keep in mind that green *'s mean damage that cannot be mitigated.
Congrats on climbing that wall, Rath! All that's eft is your greatest challenge yet. But we believe in you, and know you'll block that sword one day! May you ever walk in the light of the Crystal. :)

So a cute little reference in the Calcabrina fight; the tankbuster Knockout is a reference to the Puppetmaster job in Final Fantasy XI. In that game you gain a mechanical puppet partner who you can customize to perform various roles in a party, one of the weaponskills the puppet can learn is Knockout!
you’re putting out some of the best, if not the best ff14 content right now. your bismarck video was honestly more hype and epic to me than watching world first ultimate clears lmao. this series has made me learn about the game and its systems in ways i’d never even considered before and i’ve been playing for years. seriously can’t wait for the stormblood arc!!

As someone who is masochistic enough to run the Ex version solo as a WAR back in shadowbringers... even to this day doing it with no echo is my personal best achievement. While not exactly what you're dealing with, but it took me weeks, and really taught me how to manage my cooldowns and even using them perfectly i only barely managed to do it by the skin of my teeth.

I really have thoroughly enjoyed the Solo series, and I absolutely cannot wait for more but even more than that you really helped me fall back in love with XIV right before Dawntrail, especially with my crafters, i never particularly enjoyed crafting but the small sequences of gathering the stuff and making it yourself has actually made me level a lot more of my crafters this expac! and as a result DT has been some of the most fun I have had playing XIV in ages, thank you so much for all your hard work on this series and I cannot wait to see the rest of it and everything else!

If the Griffin had actually been allowed to use the restraint collar, I wonder if there was ever any way to get past him. This would have been where I was forced to stop, with HW being the last trial expansion when I first started watching, but now I can actually do Stormblood... I just need to stop procrastinating ahaha. Though, I am very very very very very excited to see Susano. What a spectacle of a fight, and I have no idea how you're going to manage it, but that's part of the fun as a viewer. I remember in shadowbringers, during the Idol of Darkness raid fight, caster defense hit us in a funny way as well. Whenever the boss did anything involving the birds, it was a physical aoe and not magical so casters took more. At the end of the fight the boss drops down as a tornado of those said birds, and it instantly killed my summoner (who had gotten all the raid drops) and both healers through just regular scholar shields lol.
I don't even remember how I found your channel, but I'm glad I have. This has been a genuine treat to enjoy. I do pray for your sanity when Susano inevitably arrives.

I'd been wondering how the Antitower would go, because I was wondering what would happen if there was only one person in the duty when Calcabrina uses "Welcome to the Dollhouse". Now I'll finally find out! Edit: Huh, so that's what happens. Never noticed that move was on a timer, I always thought the duration lasted until a party member freed you. So I figured it would be an insta-wipe mechanic, or a softlock that forces you to abandon duty if you didn't beat her before she used it. Good thing it doesn't work that way
Just a little bit of trivia the prey damage does true damage which is why it couldn’t be mitigated but it can be shielded. Most damage you take from attacks will show the damage type a sword for phys, a wand for magical, and a green star for true. Great series btw can’t wait to see storm blood my personal favorite expansion in ff14.

Roomie gave me a "lore reason" for why caster/healer gear is Like That. Which btw I somehow never noticed despite dancing between a Tank(whether I was gnb or drk varied), Dancer(lol), Red mage, and my actual main main Scholar last time I was playing. Mostly between Scholar and Dancer. But she says it's cause we blow ourselves up so much as newbies our resistance is skewed magical and the gear just reflects this lol

Roomie gave me a "lore reason" for why caster/healer gear is Like That. Which btw I somehow never noticed despite dancing between a Tank(whether I was gnb or drk varied), Dancer(lol), Red mage, and my actual main main Scholar last time I was playing. Mostly between Scholar and Dancer. But she says it's cause we blow ourselves up so much as newbies our resistance is skewed magical and the gear just reflects this lol
