I bought pure cane sugar from Walmart. It was just a couple dollars more than processed cheap sugar. I ordered it online, and had 4- 8lb bags sent directly to my house. It's an equal substitution, and I use low sugar pectin for my jams and jellies. We have a crab tree that is loaded with fruit for the first time in 25 years, since we planted it. I'm going to make crab apple jelly to give to my grown kids!

I’m up to my ears in apricots too! I’ve made apricot leather a lot, but I’ve never cooked the apricots first and never put it through a sieve. I just whizz it up in the blender, put a little sugar in and put it in the dehydrator on plastic container lids sprayed with Pam. I don’t have a freeze dryer, but when I dehydrate apricots, I dip them in pineapple juice first. It helps keep the color and it makes them sweeter. So yummy! Next time try 135* for the dehydrator.

I like your method better. Gonna try that next time for the fruit leather

All your projects with the apricots look amazing. I always loved canning. I miss it, especially this time of year. It doesn’t make sense to do it for one person. But I can live vicariously through you.

Yeah, we were both discussing the size of this garden even for our large family. We share a lot of produce with the neighbors lol. It might get a few flowers planted in it next year lol

*Looks so YUMMY. 😋 Raspberries are my favorite fruit, followed by APRICOTS❣️ We had an apricot tree in California where I was born; none here in Minnesota. 😔 Fresh figs and apricots are what I miss most about California....but with the current state of affairs in California, I wouldn't want to live in California 😔😡‼️*

I know you two have a ricer!!! Cone shaped sieve with legs, then use a cone shaped 1 handled rolling pin like thing! You can make seedless jam with it SO GOOD! Pro tip: do NOT use a pantyhose as a second filter! Those baby’s STRETTTTTCHHHHH 😂
