43:20 also shoutouts to this game for being the only non-smash fangame platform fighter I can think of to actually include special K.Os it's such a nice bit of charm that's lost in just about all of them (I think slap city may have em but I'm not sure.)
Love all the new ideas being put in. Little things like the platform cling and choosing your respawn feel like real evolutions of current mechanics, things that have stayed the same without scrutiny in every other platform fighter. It's easy to tell that a lot of thought was put into this. Modern platform fighters tend to lean way too heavily into being Melee Again, but this game is injecting something really fresh into the genre and I hope it does well.
I've heard that this game has fully digital inputs, meaning it's perfectly playable on d-pad. Sounds great! Does the right stick on any given controller do anything in this game, like tilt attacks/aerials in Smash? I'd honestly prefer if it doesn't, as that would allow controllers like hitboxes and fightsticks to be playable without having a major disadvantage.
Yeah the game is fully digital with analog inputs. The right stick you can toggle between tilts only or allowing heavy attacks. The right stick always does aerial's in the air
@@SnessFresh if we're talking about Smash, I'd agree that a "Smashbox", with access to all functions that a regular pad has, has an advantage over a pad. But a regular hitbox (4 movement buttons + 8 action buttons) would be a disadvantage in Smash, as you'd be missing out on too many functions. I just don't want that to be the case in Combo Devils, which is why I'd prefer the game be designed around not having access to "stick attacks". Hope that makes my position a bit clearer. :)
I want to play this game so bad, I cannot think of a fighting game I've been this hyped for since nasb2, which was't that long ago, but I don't wanna buy fighting games day 1 that often, so it's saying something
Idk, it looks fun, but this game is choosing the wrong year to come out, I'm worried its going to get quickly overshadowed by rivals 2 (and maybe mvs depending on how good the changes are).
