Hey! Good video! Is there a way to record the real piano sounds on my yamaha into fl studio and also being able to change the notes? (So basically record the REAL Yamaha Piano Sound into the Piano roll?
You are asking for mixing MIDI data with grabbed voices from external instrument. It is "possible" but quite a long process case you need to sample keyboard for at least 4 samples per note (different velocity) etc , Easier way (scenario 3) : capture MIDI data and use Yamaha Grand Piano emulation VST as sound engine that give you very similar quality. Sampling is of course possible but hard to do. There is another way (scenario 2) : use Yamaha keyboard as Sound engine and use FL Studio only as MIDI source and editing. At the end grab whole performance into WAV Here is some theoretical background: ruclips.net/video/zjyxgW46c44/видео.html that explain scenarios listed above
hi I just bought a PSR-E303, but it's missing music sheet rest. If I were to buy one, let's say from any kind/brand, will it fit? Or does the keyboard body only allow it's own specific music rest for installation?
Basically yes but everything depends on cable (there is a small microcontroller inside actually ) and drivers. I have cheap 1 channel MIDI to USB cable and honetsly it was useless. Once I have transferred some notes but it was after hours of trying, delay was horrible and it was only one channel. I know there is a yamaha ux-16 cable on the market but quite expensive and I switched to USB-USB MIDI connection - much more reliable.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong if you could help me it would be a niceee thing, idk why my Yamaha psr E263 can’t be connected properly to fl studio for recording what I’m playing in the keyboard, I want to record what I’m playing with the sounds of the psr and then insert to fl 😪Any advise?
Hey Carol. There is one or two fundamental questions - Do you want to use Yamaha as primary sound engine (transport MIDI data only) or use Audio Interface and grab Audio Data - to help you choose please watch this video: ruclips.net/video/zjyxgW46c44/видео.html After you watch it, please let me know the Scenario number that you want to use - depending on hardware / needs you have. Regards
@@BBWalkerTV Man!, I’ve already watched your linked video recently, and I’m amazed, thanks, I want to use my Yamaha as primary sound engine, (I don’t got any audio interface, so I don’t want to use it), my perfect scenario would be the second one, I’ve got a Yamaha psrE263, but it just have 3 possible connections, AUX IN, PHONES/OUTPUT and SUSTAIN, and I’ve already tried with a cable for aux in, but the quality of recording in Fl studio (my daw) is just horrible, and I don’t know how to connect my Yamaha properly, with good quality as you mentioned in the second scenario, it also don’t have Bluetooth or something like that, I’ve got a pc, thanks for your knowledge, I’m hoping your answer🤟🏻god bless you
@@carolaparicio1815 Hey, I have checked this model and it seems that is has only those ports you have mentioned - so in general there is no MIDI USB. Unfortunately in that case you won't be able to use it as primary sound engine (Scenario 2) and the only solution is to use Scenario 3 You don't have Audio Interface - so you can use MIC / Line In port in you PC to grab the Audio for the headphones output. I won't be HQ but maybe enough if you switch to Line-in mode The horrible quality is probably because of the default microphone mode input - if you have PC with one Jack (3.5 mm) multi purpose socket input - after connecting with Yamaha you need to change into Line-in mode, because mic input is to sensitive and you got clipping. In Windows the proper popup window should apper on the screen to select to mode (headphones, mic, line-in) - select line-in Second thing - make sure that you recording from line-in - sometimes you may use build-in microphone in laptop - the quality will be much worse than horrible :) Tell me more about your PC configuration and I will try to help.
@@BBWalkerTV I’m sorry by my late response, however I’ve connected my keyboard to my pc as you told me, but when I connected it to my pc, any popup window appeared in my screen for selecting line in, I’ve got a Lenovo ideapad 320, and I searched by myself in settings any other possible configuration for select the mode line in, but I just don’t find it, I think I will buy another keyboard with midi usb, cause mine is even obsolete😂, however thanks, you really put your effort in helping people and that’s something your community are grateful for, keep growing:)
Is it possible to to send information on velocity, pitch bend and sounds from the MIDI keyboard to fl Studio? I have some sounds on my MIDI synth that I want to send over to FL studio
Is it possible to use the IN BUILT sounds of the synthesizer instead of using plugins in fl studio? like i want to play the grand piano that my keyboard already has installed in it AND NOT the grand piano pulgin inside fl studio?

Hey. Yamaha Reface YC has USB MIDI so general answer is "yes" - you can use it as MIDI Controller (both IN and OUT): USB "TO HOST" allows MIDI connectivity to your USB-equipped computer or iOS device Your Yamaha Reface has own sound engine so I also recommend you to watch this video where I am explain different scenarios : ruclips.net/video/zjyxgW46c44/видео.html
If you want to play MIDI from DAW back to instrument - which means use hardware keyboard as sound engine (samples) you need to use MIDI Out just like in the cubase shown here: ruclips.net/video/fRh3Vwk9ztc/видео.html if you like such case shown in FL Studio let me know - you can grab audio back into DAW and the sound will be 100% the same Second scenario is to how to map similar sounds inside FL Studio (generated by software) are and just like Yamaha samples - create mapping, you need to play around here is example with drums grabbed from external instrument : ruclips.net/video/o46-iH4Dim4/видео.html The general question is : Which device (DAW Soft or hardware keyboard) you want to use as sound engine - if you reply me I will be able to help

I have a 8 year old electric yahama arius piano and when I use a midi to usb converter and plug it in and do the midi settings in fl studios it doesn’t work. Do you know what could be wrong?
In that case you can use it to grab Audio only (line out from keyboard to Audio interface line in) check this scenarios, your will be the last one (third) ruclips.net/video/zjyxgW46c44/видео.html Are you sure that your keyboard doesn't have MIDI In (maybe integrated in USB-TO-HOST port) Let us know the model - I will check specs.
Sure you can. Every model from PSR-S line and even the lower lines has two 1/4 inch output. You can mute internal speakers and use only external speakers. If you need to know how those ports and cables look like - check this video about looper - but the principle it the same. ruclips.net/video/NuXmNk0MMR0/видео.html

Hey. In this video I have shown two scenarios: 1. At the begining I have used Yamaha Keybord as MIDI controller to capture notes and the sound engine was FL STudio (Virtual instrument - Syturs VST) 2. At 16:33 I have replaced VST to MIDI Out and send back MIDI Data to Yamaha Keyboard - so It became hardware sound engine I assume I want to capture some MIDI notes in DAW (FL STudio) than edit it and save back again in you MM6? Basically if you disconnet MIDI USB cable to can not send it in real time. The only way to do this is to export song in MIDI File from FL Studio (General MIDI or Yamaha format) and copy it on USB Stick play with it inside MM6 I don't know if MM6 has song creator and mixer, but here I have shown how cound you revoice MIDI file from computer in hardware keyboard. ruclips.net/video/2VoAh31W0rQ/видео.html

@@BBWalkerTV mmhm. I'm not sure if you get my question right. Basically i wanna route my FL studio sound output to my keyboard. Would you know how to do it?
@@johann_son Well. Sorry I read too fast. USB cable could be used for both audio interface (digital connection) or MIDI transport. However it could never be both on same time. Most keyboards use USB to transfer MIDI only. Some more expensive could have also Audio interface support. After you connect USB to PC check the Sound output devices in FL Studio (not midi section) if something new shows up. If yes - try to set it as primary output device and check the speakers. For example my Zoom H4n Pro has such feature - it could be accesesed as input /output audio interface or standard USB Media (Memory stick) depending on the mode it operates. You should check specs of you keyboard if it has build-in audio-interface. I'm sure that Yamaha PSR S670 hasn't (I was checking it)

Thank you for the video. But how to record the piano’s sound itself without using FL studio instruments?
Hi, i have yamaha EZ-20. but it can't works for my laptop. What's the problem?
It really clear and work ❤
Just a question, what if you want to record the sounds internally from the keyboard itself? How do you record that?
Will this work with a midi to usb cable for older keyboards? Mine shows as "USB MIDI Interface" and I'm getting no input response.
Hey Carol.
There is one or two fundamental questions - Do you want to use Yamaha as primary sound engine (transport MIDI data only) or use Audio Interface and grab Audio Data - to help you choose please watch this video:
ruclips.net/video/zjyxgW46c44/видео.html
After you watch it, please let me know the Scenario number that you want to use - depending on hardware / needs you have.
Unfortunately in that case you won't be able to use it as primary sound engine (Scenario 2) and the only solution is to use Scenario 3
You don't have Audio Interface - so you can use MIC / Line In port in you PC to grab the Audio for the headphones output.
I won't be HQ but maybe enough if you switch to Line-in mode
The horrible quality is probably because of the default microphone mode input - if you have PC with one Jack (3.5 mm) multi purpose socket input - after connecting with Yamaha you need to change into Line-in mode, because mic input is to sensitive and you got clipping.
In Windows the proper popup window should apper on the screen to select to mode (headphones, mic, line-in) - select line-in
Second thing - make sure that you recording from line-in - sometimes you may use build-in microphone in laptop - the quality will be much worse than horrible :)
Tell me more about your PC configuration and I will try to help.
@@carolaparicio1815 Thanks for the response. I think keyboard with USB MIDI will be your best option and give you a lot of possibilities. Regards
I’m following everything and it’s still not working ?
Is it possible to to send information on velocity, pitch bend and sounds from the MIDI keyboard to fl Studio? I have some sounds on my MIDI synth that I want to send over to FL studio
Is it possible to use the IN BUILT sounds of the synthesizer instead of using plugins in fl studio?
like i want to play the grand piano that my keyboard already has installed in it AND NOT the grand piano pulgin inside fl studio?
Yes of course this is scenario number 1 from my video about 3 possible connections , the example with Yamaha you can find here, I explain there also MIDI Mapping and remote control:
ruclips.net/video/FWp3KM33NQM/видео.html
If you want to know other scenarios check this:
ruclips.net/video/zjyxgW46c44/видео.html
Please I’m trying it out ,but when I clicked the option icon i didn’t see midi out
What version of FL Studio do you use ?
Hi, Can I play a track in Fl Studio and record the track on my Yamaha psr s670 keyboard? Regards
Can I use from Yamaha reface yc like midi controller and connect it to FL studio on windows?
Hey. Yamaha Reface YC has USB MIDI so general answer is "yes" - you can use it as MIDI Controller (both IN and OUT):
USB "TO HOST" allows MIDI connectivity to your USB-equipped computer or iOS device
Your Yamaha Reface has own sound engine so I also recommend you to watch this video where I am explain different scenarios :
ruclips.net/video/zjyxgW46c44/видео.html
sir,can you please explain how to get the same instrument sound in fl studio operatng from external keyboard
If you want to play MIDI from DAW back to instrument - which means use hardware keyboard as sound engine (samples) you need to use MIDI Out just like in the cubase shown here:
ruclips.net/video/fRh3Vwk9ztc/видео.html
if you like such case shown in FL Studio let me know - you can grab audio back into DAW and the sound will be 100% the same
Second scenario is to how to map similar sounds inside FL Studio (generated by software) are and just like Yamaha samples - create mapping, you need to play around
here is example with drums grabbed from external instrument : ruclips.net/video/o46-iH4Dim4/видео.html
The general question is : Which device (DAW Soft or hardware keyboard) you want to use as sound engine - if you reply me I will be able to help

can i use any speaker connected to the pc? or it has to be an amplifier? i have korg m1 and when i connect my (normal) speakers every sound is reproduced except for the korg m1, it comes directly from the pc, any tips?
Thank you for the amazing tutorial. I have one problem though. I cant figure out how to turn on Sustain in FL studio using Grand Piano plugin. On my Yamaha keyboard sustain is ON, however when I play the notes there is no Sustain effect heard in FL studio. I dont use Sustain pedal just the inbuilt function.
If possible, select the specific plugin, link its #64 CC to a MIDI OUT and keep its level full. It will turn on the Sustain for Piano
Hi, I'm having a problem finding it in FL. It doesn't show up and in device manager it says it failed to start any suggestions?
What OS type and vesion you have. Can you upgrade it? If not Try to find midi drivers for your keyboard.
Basically for Windows 10 it should be fully automatic but older version may need drivers

Thanks very much. Ursome video tutorial. Even this video is done three years ago. This is gold and thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge. Very appreciated. Would it be possible to do one using Reaper Daw ? Thanks again top video ever explained midi in and out of Yamaha Arranger midi setup. 🙏🙏👍👍💯

What if Digital Keyboard is not showing up as an option? I have everything connected properly, but it’s not there.
It seems to be problem with MIDI Driver. Please let me know which OS version you have. Several other people also complain about it and I am trying to get as much info as possible and replicate this problem. In win10 it basically should run plug-and-play with no user action needed.
@@BBWalkerTV Thabks. Sorry for the delayed reply. I’m using Windows 10.
@@ummmwhatsmyline5092 In Windows 10 everything should be done automatically. I never had to install drivers.
Very informative video thanks BB Walker. Do you know if there is a way to export the loop as Yamaha Style (instead of sending the MIDI output to Yamaha)?
Export the audio in mp3 format and then use it
Yes it is the simplest way and usually it is enough. Please check this new release: ruclips.net/video/yMBIUarEC_c/видео.html
I really like it, appreciate for its brother
Thanks for the info. How do we record the sounds of Yamaha into FL Studio? (Yamaha 16 Tracks separately into 16 FL Studio inserts). When I tried, all the tracks are recorded into one track :(
not sure but im pretty sure youre supposed to use an output from the headphones not midi
This has really helped me
Is there anyway I can use my sounds from my piano in fl studio?
Did you find an answer?
Cool. Well done. Very useful video.
Thanks Philip
Great video thanks!

can I setup midi in yamaha p125 keyboard as well???
I have a 8 year old electric yahama arius piano and when I use a midi to usb converter and plug it in and do the midi settings in fl studios it doesn’t work. Do you know what could be wrong?
You should have proper drivers for your converter. if it's Yamaha ux 16 it should come to you with appropirare driver
I only have a midi out and line out on my keyboard. If I run it with midi to my focusrite will it work the same way?
In that case you can use it to grab Audio only (line out from keyboard to Audio interface line in) check this scenarios, your will be the last one (third)

Are you sure that your keyboard doesn't have MIDI In (maybe integrated in USB-TO-HOST port) Let us know the model - I will check specs.
Hi
Q-can i play the yamaha keyboard and hear the its sounds in diffrenet speakers???
Sure you can. Every model from PSR-S line and even the lower lines has two 1/4 inch output. You can mute internal speakers and use only external speakers. If you need to know how those ports and cables look like - check this video about looper - but the principle it the same. ruclips.net/video/NuXmNk0MMR0/видео.html
What kind of usb Am I using
yamaha psr 3000 data hasn't been loaded properly. . .What is the problem?
hello. im new in this one and i was watching your video. i have yamaha mm6 and fl studio on my pc. than i connect it exactly how u done. i recorded and i replace it with midi out, exactly how u do, and my mm6 keyboard is now playing that sample , but im stuck in how to send that i recorded from fl studio to my piano. i mean after i will disconnect from pc, i want to play that directly in my mm6. im not sure if i was clearly. good job.
Hey. In this video I have shown two scenarios:
1. At the begining I have used Yamaha Keybord as MIDI controller to capture notes and the sound engine was FL STudio (Virtual instrument - Syturs VST)
2. At 16:33 I have replaced VST to MIDI Out and send back MIDI Data to Yamaha Keyboard - so It became hardware sound engine
I assume I want to capture some MIDI notes in DAW (FL STudio) than edit it and save back again in you MM6?
Basically if you disconnet MIDI USB cable to can not send it in real time.
The only way to do this is to export song in MIDI File from FL Studio (General MIDI or Yamaha format) and copy it on USB Stick play with it inside MM6
I don't know if MM6 has song creator and mixer, but here I have shown how cound you revoice MIDI file from computer in hardware keyboard.

Hello, I would like to know, since my Yamaha P - 125 does not have USB MIDI in and out, can I connect it to my laptop via USB type B to A ? Will it work the same way as the MIDI ?
Helo. Yes it will work - P125 have MIDI to HOST and this port is bidirectional - you don't need IN and OUT separated
i have the midi enabled in FL but its not working..............
Did you see any device under the settings midi in FL Studio you can send me a screenshot to my email address bbwalker@holikstudios.com

Question plss,
What wire is used in connecting the keyboard ? Is it a USB or what is it ?
YES, It is called USB Printer cable , shown here at the beginning: ruclips.net/video/gf1ZHjDYci8/видео.html
What are the cables to use ??
Only usb to midi shown in this video ruclips.net/video/gf1ZHjDYci8/видео.html
Thanks for this tutorial. Btw, how can i route my laptop's output audio to my keyboard speakers using the same MIDI printer cable? I'm using yamaha keyboard with Cubasis on my iPad, and i want the same cable setup that the same midi cable carries the audio signal to my keyboard.
Sure I personally also use USB Cable from old printer :) Regards
I'm sure that Yamaha PSR S670 hasn't (I was checking it)
@@BBWalkerTV Thank you so much. Will check this. 😊
@@johann_son Have a look in the settings in Fl Studio as there might be something you can choose to get the audio to play through your keyboard.

I thought midi keyboards can't produce sound by themselves without a computer? But yours makes sound right?
You are twice right: MIDI Keyboard can not produce sound but here I am using an arranger workstation which has own sound engine plus it is also a MIDI keyboard.
Each workstation has also a MIDI keyboard functionality.
It is like the geometry analogy : Every Square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square.
