  • In this video I go over how to organize your Adobe Lightroom Classic 2020 presets. There is a slight caveat to the process that some probably will not like, but you still can organize which is nice! Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the vid. I thought I was going crazy when I couldn't see how to select multiple presets to move! Just one suggestion - instead of dragging the presets to a folder, maybe just right click the preset and select the move option. After doing the first one (and creating new group), you just need to right click on preset, select 'move' and just tap the 'enter' key, as the previous folder is automatically selected.

Thank you. You confirmed that Adobe is insane, not me.
I swear, I blame ios: it forced adobe to effectively spend resources to develops essentially a tangental version of lightroom where i can’t share catalogs and presets with a simple sync per project.
As a result, instead of using my operating system to organize my presets and refresh the list, there is this tedious way to do it.

Hi. Actually, there is one more way. You can change the "User Presets" name to "Christmas Preset". Presets in the "User Presets" folder will be listed under "Christmas Presets".

That's a great idea for importing new presets. Unfortunately, it doesn't help when trying to move existing presets into a folder. It's strange cos in Lightroom Mobile you can select multiple presets and move them all at once into a folder of your choice.

Wouldn’t others that you import be put in the folder still or would a new User presets folds be automatically made?

This confirm I'm not insane and I'm not alone. UPDATE: I was able to create the new preset group, and then selecting that group and import preset. It actually allows me to import it right into the new group rather than in the User Preset group. I'm using the new version of LRC 2022.

When you click « show in finder », where does it take you ?
My MacBook just died and I’m desperately trying to find my created presets in a time machine save.
Where are the xmp presets you create directly in Lightroom stored ?
    Please answer I’m loosing hope

Hi, I'm a bit late, but the folder where user-made LR-presets are stored, is: User > Library > Application Support > Adobe > CameraRaw > Settings
Presets that you imported directly via LR will be stored in User > Library > Application Support > Adobe > CameraRaw > ImportedSettings.
Hope that at least helps for future troubles ;-)

    ************SOLUTION (2022)************:
    - In Develop mode, on Presets, click on the + button.
    - Click on Manage Presets
    - Deselect ALL of the preset groupings that are displayed
    - Click Save
    - Click on the + button
    - Click on Import Presets
    - Select all the presets in that explorer folder and click on Import
    - Let LR refresh
    - As expected, all of those presets will be nested under "User Presets"
    NOW SIMPLY
    - Right click on User Presets
    - Click Rename
    - Name the grouping whatever you intended it to be and click "OK"
    Boom!
Oh, but you have more groupings to import? Just go back into Manage Presets and deselect the group you must made, and repeat the steps!
You've saved yourself a TON of time and a lot of annoying dragging between preset groups!
When you have everything imported, just go back into Manage Presets and select the groups you want displayed.

Hi Morgana, just right click on the dummy preset that you created and select delete. Make sure you right click on the individual preset and not the folder. 👍🏼

Adobe has become such trash. I am astounded how trashy they are.
