Another, more advanced way, to move presets into folders is to edit the XMP preset file directly. If you are comfortable with editing XML files (which are basically text files) there is a "tag" you have to edit, but you can quickly create group that way as LR will parse this tag and group all presets that have the specific tag (and name of the group that you specify). There are articles online on how to do this although creating a dummy preset and dragging or creating new presets into that group is an easier option, but you can also edit the preset file using a text editor. This can also be done to quickly edit Metadata presets (say you want to change your copyright your web address and you have a lot of metadata preset files to change... you can do this same type of thing and edit the preset file using a text editor -- again there are articles on how do this although it does require you to understand how XML [text] files are formatted.

The adaptive presets you introduced recently are very good, I like them a lot as they are very efficient.

I'm one of those people who almost never uses presets but the information is much appreciated.

Hey Matt. Thanks for another great video. Have an off topic question. Why do you have so many G-drives daisy-chained? Are they maxed out? I’m filling mine up and was planning on updating to two 14tb drives. Is there a reason not to do this? Thanks. I was able to get WD red 14 tb for $240.

Hi. Two drives are for photos. One for my main photos drive and one backup. Two are for my business/video courses… one for the main drive and one backup. Hope that helps.

    very interesting tips.
    - Why doesn't adobe realize that we need that management on brush/gradients presets and remove this slooooow bottom arrow to scroll ? I have tons of brush presets from adobe, from you, seimeffect, kelby, ramelli, slrlounge,... some redundant for eyes, lips,... and would like to group them and, what i really love, is a solo mode which closes a group when we open a new group.
    - About cascading presets, what i do is to save as TIF, reimport and apply a second preset but TIF for TIF, i generally prefer to launch ON1 or Skylum with 52 filters+ for artistic looks.
    - A problem I have for years : i apply a preset nr1 and check before/after with original and would like to test another one, so i create a virtual copy (after nr1 was applied (never think making VC at the beginning) and apply another preset nr2. On virtual copy, when i want to compare original/preset nr2, it shows the preset 1 instead of original. How can we clean the virtual copy. reset doesn't work. Do we need to go in history of VC ?
