      Thanks , I appreciate the sub. It definitely isn't a hardware or capacity issue. I think it is just something dumb with software, like maybe windows 11. Overall windows 11 hasn't been bad, but why keep changing stuff. ?

    Dell finally forced a firmware update on me last week, and ever since I’ve had this issue consistently. This fix works, but they need to figure out a permanent solution and push out another update. Taking the back off over and over is getting old.

      I can't wait until they make laws against changing these machines without our consent. We pay for these and then they change what we paid for. eventually laws will catch up with that. They should have to compensate us for changing the product we already paid for.

      I never unplug, close the lid, or shut this laptop down. For years it runs ok. From time to time when I have to open it up to do this fix I clean everything nice. Best way I've been able to work with it.. Overall this being the only problem isn't too bad. Every pc I ever owned had issues. These issues are small potatoes compared to what the others gave me.

    I bought this computer July 4th 2021 on sale. 362 days later it had this issue. I wasn't aware of this and it was still newer and before this problem was well known. I called a computer repair shop who said it sounded like motherboard issue and estimated a $400 fix. Was researching it tonight because the computer I got as a replacement SUCKS, got the laptop (which i kept for these years just in case) plugged it in and it turned right on. The fix is definitely to either disconnect battery or let it sit long enough to drain. Absolutely unacceptable for such an expensive computer. I will use these fixes to get some more life on it and save up for an HP Omen

      My video is helping so many people. I'm really glad. But also surprised how many people have same issue. My 'tin-foil hat' side of me makes me wonder if these companies ever purposely cause these issues to occur, so that they increase repair calls . Especially in this case, all these laptops are mostly serviced by dell. Not only do they make money off the repair calls for this issue, but also when these things happen, it makes people want to buy the accidental insurance more; thus the event really helps this company make a lot of money both those ways. If nothing else, perhaps they pretend to not know when these things are occurring when it is profitable. These companies have board of directors and investors and all that, so they are under extreme pressure to make more and more profits. Something I always consider if someone will rob you at gunpoint for 5 bucks... what would these big companies do to protect the billions they make...? Just a thought.

      @@ReviewCentralChannel wow that's an interesting theory might be true or might not be I bought my laptop just after COVID started to end and when things were getting normal. I still remember there was a chip shortage going on and the variant for this laptop I wanted ( RTC 3060 , 240HZ , 1 tb, 16 GB Ram ) was not even available to buy and wasn't even listed on website but the employee at Dell exclusive store near me made some arrangements and ordered this special edition variant from overseas because or was not easily available due to ongoing chip shortages and I remember paying extra because electronics were high priced and I ended up paying extra due to that but I'm satisfied I really needed a new laptop. The laptop was phenomenal working good untill one day I accidentally launched a game accidentally on low battery and it wasn't turning, I thought the charging cable was plugged in when I launched the game but fast forward found the video, did the thing mentioned in it and back to normal. I think these companies are under pots of stress and jam packing all this tech in one place during shortage or chips they made some changes to design in motherboards of this laptop so that's why it is causing problems I mean you can't use you second SSD slot in my model it's just not there even though the previous model were capable, the motherboard for my laptop is capable but the port is just not there, i think this was done to cut costs.

      Obviously it is known, but it is not openly admitted by the company. They will just try to sell you a warranty or send you to pay for repairs. Businesses sometimes dont fix things that generate them extra income on purpose to take advantage of the people. Its called 'selling you the problem and the solution.'

      Hey Chase, I am sorry. It sounds like an issue with your display and not the battery. I would search "Dell g15 screen won't turn on, everything else is ok" on google and see if you can find another person having the same issue. IF you are confident and know computers well, you can try unplugging display cards and connections, and reconnect them. IF that doesn't work, also you can try cleaning them. There could be corrosion on the connections if the laptop is in high humidity areas.

      This doesn't work with the issue I mention in this video. My fix is for completely dead laptops that won't turn on with the power button in any way. Perhaps yours wasn't actually completely inoperable since it turned back on easy enough. When nothing else works, try my fix though. Your fix tends to work if the PC shut down or is stuck in startup/shutdown process. But it I doesn't seem to help with this battery issue I've been having, and so many other people have been experiencing.

    What is the size of tester that used to remove the screws

    • @ReviewCentralChannel
      @ReviewCentralChannel  8 месяцев назад

      It's a small Phillips head screw driver. Some of the screw loosen but cannot be removed from the bottom cover, once they are loose enough you can remove cover and the screws remain in the cover as it is removed. You cannot remove them. Sometimes the first time you remove bottom cover, you need to start to pop bottom off and you will notice some of those screws may be still attached. Then simply check each screw again to be sure they are loose enough. And again some screws will not come out of the cover. Let me know if you figure it out

    I've been having this issue on my brand new G5511 since March this year. I took it in to the service center many times, they used this hack once, they replaced the motherboard another time, the third time they advised that updating the BIOS software will prevent the issue. All lies, since it is still recurring. I said screw it to the warranty because I'm tired and tried your hack. It's a lifesaver. Any idea what causes this? All my updates are always updated, so despite it being an integrated laptop with software updates, this software update thing clearly isn't the problem.

    • @ReviewCentralChannel
      @ReviewCentralChannel  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, something to do with sleep or whatever because it has never in two years of nearly continuous use has it ever done this while someone was using it. Only while it is left alone. Some other people also think it may have something to do with static build up and then when you unplug it discharges and allows the battery to function normally again. Not sure about all that though. Glad the video helped. I appreciate the comment.

    for permanent solution what should we do..?

    • @ReviewCentralChannel
      @ReviewCentralChannel  6 месяцев назад +1

      I feel like this is a problem that will never ever be fixed. They roll out new models each year so they probably don't care to fix older models much. Plus they make a lot of repairs through dell warranties that people pay for. Not a lot of motivation for a problem like this to get fixed. Glad I figured it out so I'm not one of the ones being taken advantage of just so someone else can make money.

    • @luisdls
      @luisdls 5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, no permanent solution. I keep updated my bios but it seems they don't care to fix this problem. This problem do not happens all the time, but it just sucks, I have to carry a screwdiver everywhere I go because this may happen anytime.

    • @ReviewCentralChannel
      @ReviewCentralChannel  5 месяцев назад

      @@luisdls Yes, you are correct. Technically there is 'no problem." Because the laptop is operating exactly as the company is allowing it to. It is as working as they intended it to operate, with ongoing issues that they are aware of and not fixing. Big companies get away with a lot. If I filmed a video for a company and there were all kinds of problems, I would have to fix the issues. But a big company sells a product with an issues to thousands of people, and suddenly that company doesn't have to be responsible. Business 101. If you observe business history, you can see that the more tax money a company makes the government, the more they get away. At least I found a way for me and my people to easily fix this issue ourselves. Dell needs to make a battery disconnect switch. All devices should have them, but it definitely would make them last a lot longer too, which may not be a goal of most companies. What do you think?

      This has something to do with screensaver, and also sometimes battery. This is what I do: I never let battery run completely out. I also disable screen saver. I have it set to turn off screen after like 30 minutes and will actually sleep and lock after 2 hours I think . I push the power button once quick to turn off screen or lock screen. I leave plugged in all the time. I never shut it down. I only restart it when needed. This PC has basically on for one yaer straight. I am making a follow up video I'm almost done with telling about all the issues I found after one year and how to fix them. So stay tuned on the channel. That new video shold be out soon.

    Does anyone know the root cause of this issue?

    • @ReviewCentralChannel
      @ReviewCentralChannel  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think this may be caused by static build up in the battery and it can discharge or something similar when it is unplugged and pugged back in. This is the only theory we even have for this. These unexplainable problems tend to not get fixed when it is making a company a lot of money and it isn't a significant problem. Coincidentally of course ;) I am paying attention to my behavior and trying to figure out what is causing it, but I have no idea after a couple years. I do know it is related to sleep and inactivity and all that. It has never ever happened while using the laptop.

    •  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@ReviewCentralChannel It is the fourth time that I encounter this issue. The first time I called support they wanted to change the motherboard but we did not because when the technician came the laptop powered up (the battery run out and hard reset set it up and running again). After that I noticed that when I turned on Core Isolation the same thing happened again and I dicided to keep this feature off. For six months I was fine but one thing was happening. Some times when I tried to use Parsec to connect remotely the laptop was turning to hibernation (maybe when pressing keyboard keys it opened fine so I guess it was hibernation) and I could not access it (I have wake on lan off). So last week I apply the last update for the nvidia graphics card and the next time I try to open it via Parcec it completely turned off and the issue returned. Currently I am waiting for the battery to drain again I am still under warranty I don't want to void it accidentaly by opening it. All in all I agree that this thing happens after turning it on from sleep mode and also maybe certain settings and/or updates play a role in this. Hope this helps

    The better fix for now is to turn off sleep mode for plug in and battery. Disconnect the battery forever until the Dell software EE morons fixes there issues. Only use plug-in for power. Shut down when not in use or close the lid to turn off screen. When powering back up "if unpluged" hit "continue" and it will restart normally. If it was unplugged, plug in power wait for continue to show, or wait for lights on caplock to disappear if you don't get Dell icon then touch and release power button to power up. Should see lights on caps lock and soon Dell icon. Hope this helps.
