I said it once and I'll say it again, Spin is the third member point blank. Salt n Pepa is horrible for not acknowledging Spins contributions. In my opinion they come off as being selfish and jealous because Spinderella is actually the fan favorite. That's like Run DMC not including Jam Master Jay, it's crazy smdh.

Even though she wasn't the original Spinderella she IS Spinderella. Hardly anybody remembered the original one, she was barely there a year, was never in their videos and when people think of Spin, it's DeeDee they think of.
Salt Pepa Spindarella came here to tell ya!!!! C'mon now that's not right how they did her!!! Becareful how you treat people. Spindarella had y'all's back for 30yrs!!! You don't treat someone like the way y'all did!!👎☹️☹️
Hey Renie, I'm from Queens... and have met all three of these legendary ladies, independently, at different times. Each encounter, *enchanting.* Luv 'em All! Hence, I try to stay neutral on this fiscal beef w/them... yet... hoping a *reunion in Luv* comes to fruition for #SaltnPepa soon
Yes you are right about the original Spinderella. I remember watching that behind the music on them. I couldn't remember exactly how it went but at the time Salt was dating Herbie and she saw them together and after that the original Spin was fired. She's on that behind the music as well telling a little of her side.
They envy spin cause she was the prettiest and didn't have to act sexual and b half dressed to b liked and will always b a member of the group in the world eyes
I was 8 years old when they first came out. I remember all the girls in the neighborhood kept saying her name and they seemed to favor her at first. Even I thought she was the pretty one at first. Later as time went on it seemed like they tried to push her out. But what do I know. ☹️
And honestly, as a man...I remember paying attention to Salt n Pepa because I was crushing on SPIN LOL She was the reason I got into their music. And I'm sure I'm not the only one!
I’m the same age as them, and also from NYC. I can remember the love the city had for them before Spinderella arrived. And when she did I don’t remember people even noticing her for a long time afterwards. It was kind of like that for the DJ’s in groups or behind a solo artist, where DJ’s were like a visual aesthetic. I personally would have still loved Salt n Pepa with or without Spin, as I became a big fan before she was in the picture. But maybe that’s because I was local. She deserves for her contracts to be honored so she can get her money. But I agree DJ’s just don’t shine the same the as the artist. Fans don’t come out to see the DJ’s or the sound system people, even though they are a part of the show collectively, people come for the lyricists
Exactly! People don't understand how that works. Back n the day djs were like an accessory and everybody didn't have a DJ or acknowledge the DJ. SnP were platinum before this Spin came along, and they were a duo. Spin was employed by them, she worked for them. The fact that they brought her to the fore front says a lot about them. It was a girl empowerment move in a male dominated field. Spin was paid I'm sure for her services. She ended up leaving the group at one point and came back. Why come back if they were such horrible ppl.? It was explained on their reality show on BET Ladies Night w)SWV. I could tell Spin has some deep emotional issues. She threatened to leave the group again but they ended up beating her to the punch, then she got mad and took to social media and started a smear campaign against them.
I'm Gen X from Alabama. Salt n Pepa was the ish for us even here! I always viewed Spin as interchangeable and maybe even like an accessory (sorry) considering how established they were before she joined. Also considering their established fanbase and the work they put in to get there. She didn't help them get established and wasn't the leading force behind their biggest hits after they were established. So... I dont think she has been treated unfairly.
I can understand Salt and Pepa’s take from a business perspective. They were a group before Spinderella so if they saw themselves as the group and her as an employee, then ok, I get it. But they cannot erase that she’s part of the legacy. I don’t understand why the arrangement between them wasn’t made clear years ago. I still love all three of them regardless and glad that they caked up off their opportunities!
Business from a greedy perspective. After 30 years at a law firm, wouldn’t you expect to be considered a partner. When would they ever give her her just due of the legacy? I’m an 80’s baby, and S-N-P was my favorite group as the a kid, but I don’t respect how they did Spin at all. It’s not even the same without her.
I like spinderella but it was salt&peppa before she came on. Spinderella was with them for some years too and I'm sure she was looked at as part of that group. People have to make sure to get things in writing when they come into something like that. Spinderella was young too. Salt & peppa need to recognize her for all that she was a part of.
Yeah they say she's overly demanding. Jacci McGhee (who sang on Expression) walked off the set and never completed her scenes cause Salt changed the concept of the video and only wanted her to portray the bag lady.... and never got paid for that song.
When I saw Salt and Peppa straight Little Girl Spinderella on that reality show they had,I really lost my appetite for them completely and I'm one of the little boys who thought they all were Goddesses growing up..
I'm truly saddened by this... First hearing this... wowwww...Spinderella is part of Salt N pepper... I never knew they had such resentment for Spinderella... SOOOOO 😥 😔 😟
Salt n Pepa never said spin wasn’t part of the group but spin wanted it to be split equally amongst the three and salt n Pepa doesn’t see it that way. They took Hurby to court to get the rights to their name and catalog and spin was always part of the group but salt and Pepa owns the name
This was my understanding of the situation. So, I could see both sides. Sure SnP could have easily put everything aside and just took her in the fold and all, split it all equal and the fans would have thought that was "fair"... but realisticly, I think Spin knew what it was (business wise) but pushed for more anyway on the strength of time, sisterhood, their platform, and they stuck to the original understanding and deal, and Spin's feelings got hurt. I wish them all the best. But Spin could have also really thanked them for the platform and used that to make her way (which I believe they encouraged). Then I think it would have been justified to secure the name Spinderella and even negotiate (if possible) a little royalties off of some of the old memorabilia and art. Unfortunately, she was in the position to approach them humbly, not the other way around, and I believe it could have been a more favorable outcome for all of them. :/
In my opinion Spin was the prettiest and so was the original Spinderella. They got rid of the first one, because she was flirting with salt's supposed to be boyfriend at the time. I always thought of them as the female version of RUN DMC.
If you go and look at their reality show Ladies Night episodes 6-8 on BET, you will see everything. The problem was not SnP, the problem is Spin and her insecurities. And what some ppl don't know was that she was going to leave the group again, it just so happen that they beat her to the punch. She wasn't expecting it, so she got mad and smeared them on social media.
@@RenieNostalgic It did not go down the way Spin said it did. They gave her a verbal first (it is on the Ladies Night w/SWV episode 8), then the email which makes since. She was going to leave the group again anyway, she told Taj.

I guess yall young & I'm revealing my age bc all hip hop heads of a certain age was well aware of Salt & Pepa minus Spin. They had (urban) hits like Tramp and Push It BRFORE Spinderella. They broke into a male dominated field, got record deals, established themselves as a respected act THEN Spin was added. I get that she was part of their major sucess but she wasn't present in the building. She was added to a successful group that became more successful but not bc of her. No ones being shady or unfair. She's not an equal/original member.

@@TiffanyChyvonne I seen a video don't remember the title but they acted like they couldn't stand her. Tbh maybe Spinderella had more fans more male attention 🤔..women can be extremely jealous and it manifests in many ways.
If you have cable go and watch episodes 6-8 of the reality show Ladies Night SnP w/SWV on BET. You'll get a clearer picture of how things were between them. You will also see Spin saw she was leaving the group but SnP got tired of her tantrums and let her go before she could say anything. They told her to her face. They were sad but it had to be done. Spin is not innocent. And ppl don't know she had left the group before. Why ask to come back if they were such horrible ppl and sign the same contract?
I don't see where they did her wrong her @...There was a whole other Spinderella before her...How is she going to sue them over a name that wasn't originally her's...As far as they were concerned being Spinderella was a was job description...A role to fill....Even though I loved Spin in the group...I loved Sslt-N-Pepa before her...When it was the original Spinderrella....Nobody ever even knew she was replaced until someone noticed & said something...I remember very well...She even quit the group before to follow other aspirations...So like I said...I don't see where they did her wrong @ (My Opinion)
Salt and pepper are dead wrong to spin. I will never support salt and pepper without spin. Spin was a real DJ icon, the first black female. God doesn't like UGLY!!! Salt and pepper knew better than that. Period
Firstly, I never knew that Salt-N-Pepa, Kid 'n Play, *and* Martin Lawrence worked together at Sears! That explains why Martin Lawrence was in the early House Party movies and that crappy Kid 'n Play cartoon. Secondly, it's shitty how Salt and Pepa never really considered (the second but iconic) Spinderella a member of their group. DJ Run/Rev. Run and DMC always considered Jam Master Jay the third member of theit group before he became an official member. That's why they broke up the group when he got murdered. They reunite every now and then but they've said that they can never fully reform without Jay!
Something similar happened with Jam Master, the label didn't sign him he got payed from shows that's why the group made songs featuring him as a f.u. to the label, that's why I believe the story how he died because he always had one foot in the street
I always liked spinerella . But the reality is she was a replacement at the time because having a dj was expected of rap groups of the day. But those Dj’s of the time actually created the beats and produced the tracks for the MC’s . They were integral to the group. I actually saw a show back in the day and I remember wondering why she was even there. I remember the music was pre recorded Salt and Pepa were actually rapping and Spinderella was spinning record on the turntable when the beats were playing straight through with no mixing. She looked like a prop.
The way Salt N Pepa treated Spinderalla is sad and unfortunate. Spinderalla was a dynamic, integral part of the group and a legend in Hip Hop. Why do her like that? Very surprising of Salt / Cheryl as a "devout Christian" why be nasty to your fellow Black sister. Smh.
I loved their long lived journey in music. Their strong and I’m 42 but I believe when I was 12/13 that’s when I heard let’s talk about sex. And lol that song couldn’t be played around me. Lol
I grew up in 80s loving all three members of Salt and Pepper. My Pakistani friend attended their concert in 80s in London and she loved it. Love to Spinderella
Spinderella first made her rapping debut on the Blacks Magic album (those songs just weren't released as singles). This was also the first album where she wrote and produced on. Its sad that money clouded SnP's judgement and resulted in them trying to discredit Spin's contributions to the group smh
I like Spinderella, but she was not an integral part of the group. She was the DJ. The group is all about salt n peppa. People need to understand their roles.
That this is still not resolved is insanity. This era of hip hop is well aware of the importance of the MC + DJ and they shouldn’t be doing this to Spin. Disgusting.
Salt n peper was established b4 spin comes around,so to them she didn't made them, she came in N contributied, n made her mark,so salt N peper still would b wt out spin regardless.
Exactly! They didn't need her. She didn't write their music. And they were a duo before her. Why would they change things bc of her? She needs to be thanking them for the exposure that she got bc of them.

No matter what happens Salt and Pepa are legends in music industry point blank
We all recognize the contributions that Spin made to the group!
And Spin.
Fan favorite!? Please stop with the delusion!!! 😂
@@XavierCarter9129 .
@@XavierCarter9129 they’re delusional 😂 it’s to funny.
I love Salt n Pepa since a little kid, I can’t picture that group without Spinderella!!!
They did her dirty … point Blank !
It's true, Spin made the look of the group work, she was the hot one, but at a concert once Salt reached down and my hand. Those were the days!
Good video Renie Nostalgic Salt N Papa were wrong to Spinderella
Got damn sis! That intro is 🔥🔥 it has that 90s RnB nostalgia to it (unless it is a song from the '90s that I just don't recognize) all in all perfect intro makes me feel good in a I miss 90s RnB kinda way much love from Kansas City 💕💕
I really love your channel, I saw one vid and subscribed.
The host is beautiful!🖤 Great post sweety thank you! Great speaker I will subscribe 👍
Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate you subscribing.
Ms Renie I love your commentary and voice as well beautiful. Keep up the good work......#SUBSCRIBED
Really great commentary, Salt and Pepa has always been friends but unfortunately Spinderella never really got in the mix, no point attended.
This truly brought tears to my eyes....
You don't treat someone like the way y'all did!!👎☹️☹️
LET'S GET PAID!! DO YOU WANT TO🎶🎶
That's my favorite song, I bump it EVERYDAY 😊
Exactly! 💯 She was loyal to them for over 30 years.
@@CodyCole80 That's incorrect. She actually left when times were hard. Much love to Spin but this a very nuanced situation.
That's okay that's why salt looks like shit and Pepa had too much cosmetic surgery and spin still looks like a dime piece
Hey Renie,
I'm from Queens... and have met all three of these legendary ladies, independently, at different times.
Exactly
That’s right she is more marketable and the most attractive they used her
Please stop. You don’t have to lie to kick it!
@@XavierCarter9129 we know salt was the prettiest in that group and attractive. 😂❤.
THis makes me sad, I always just assumed that the three of them were best friends and stuff.
@@keepsit100atalltime9 All Facts!
@@keepsit100atalltime9 there wouldn't be salt n pepa or hiphop period with out the dj. the dj will always be the most important element to rap music
@@eastend.zulu. what a foolish thing to say.
I like your outro music. Good production.
It’s been said to spin for years, way back to to when they did their behind the music episode in the 90’s. They’ve always said the same thing to spin
@@CodyCole80 Re your law firm analogy, not necessarily if you are just a plodder in life!
30 years
Cheryl is behind all of this.
No argument!!!💯💯
Yeah they say she's overly demanding. Jacci McGhee (who sang on Expression) walked off the set and never completed her scenes cause Salt changed the concept of the video and only wanted her to portray the bag lady.... and never got paid for that song.
@@jessified619 ....damn!😡
When I saw Salt and Peppa straight Little Girl Spinderella on that reality show they had,I really lost my appetite for them completely and I'm one of the little boys who thought they all were Goddesses growing up..
I'm truly saddened by this... First hearing this... wowwww...Spinderella is part of Salt N pepper... I never knew they had such resentment for Spinderella... SOOOOO 😥 😔 😟
Shame, shame on Salt and Pepper! To me, no Salt and Pepper without the “Spin”!
Thank you spin
In the 80's I was practicing djing as a young teen and I went to Tower Records and bought Salt N Pepper Album.I mixed the song "Push it"
The original spindarella saw the issues in the beginning that's why they didn't work smh.
Not true
She was unreliable
She was lazy, not prepared for success, and was missing days. Unambitious ti the core and unprofessional. Stop this garbage.
Not true. She wasn't showing up for work and got fired.
Spindarella rapped a few verses on the song “None of your business” 😉
Oh yes, I remember that now. 😁
And whatta man
Oh yeah...🥴
And she rapped on Whatta Man Also....
Renie Nostalgic stated in this vid that Spindarella made her rapping debut in “Whatta Man”😅

thank you for giving Da Brat Tat Tat her 💐
Such a diss from salt & pepper, it just broke my heart my view of them changed, ,I pray they make a means 🙏🏾 with spin
In my opinion Spin was the prettiest and so was the original Spinderella. They got rid of the first one, because she was flirting with salt's supposed to be boyfriend at the time.
I always thought of them as the female version of RUN DMC.
Spin IS the N in Salt N Peppa. Change my mind!! 🤷🏽♂️
I see both parts but her firing was crazy
Yeah the way it was done was insane to me.
This is one of the most important lessons . I tryed too Teach my son about N an being young. thinking your friends are going to still be your friends 30 years from now over blood. Jam master J of the group. U are so right.

You did a really good job with this video. I grow up looking up to this group....women empowerment group it gave so much courage. My favorite song is independent...to find out they would do they girl spin like that so sad. Take page out SWV book on how treat your sister. When you know better you do better. I will never look at them same nor support you again. Sad 😢😭😢
I Lost Respect of Salt n Pepa and Refuse to Support Anything they do they did Spinderella So Dirty n Evil and in my Honest Opinion this Group would be Nothing without her she was a Faithful DJ for many years and now they want to be greedy n outcast her and stop her from making money what goes around comes right back around.i personally think they are jealous of Spinderella.
Spin Verse on Whatta Man is the Highlight of the Song.
So why give the "hired help" a verse?
Whats the track playing in the background

If you have cable go and watch episodes 6-8 of the reality show Ladies Night SnP w/SWV on BET. You'll get a clearer picture of how things were between them. You will also see Spin saw she was leaving the group but SnP got tired of her tantrums and let her go before she could say anything. They told her to her face. They were sad but it had to be done. Spin is not innocent. And ppl don't know she had left the group before. Why ask to come back if they were such horrible ppl and sign the same contract?

Salt and pepper are dead wrong to spin. I will never support salt and pepper without spin. Spin was a real DJ icon, the first black female. God doesn't like UGLY!!! Salt and pepper knew better than that. Period
salt and pape are so amazing
My mic sounds nice and that Dc GoGo beat 🔥!
Wow!
Exactly, she’s so overrated. She wasn’t actually djing until recently.
Smh.
We don't really know the full ins and outs of the situation. Christians do what is right in God's eyes, not necessarily what is popular with humans.
She produced 1 song and didn’t write on any other songs
@@thabigcohuna you sure about that or should I run the credits? You talkin to a DIE HARD come back to life and DIE HARDER fan lol

Shut up. You misspelled Pepa and got Spin's name right.
That this is still not resolved is insanity. This era of hip hop is well aware of the importance of the MC + DJ and they shouldn’t be doing this to Spin. Disgusting.
Spin was my favorite member of Salt N Pepa…
Salt n peper was established b4 spin comes around,so to them she didn't made them, she came in N contributied, n made her mark,so salt N peper still would b wt out spin regardless.
