I had a convo with an ISTJ coworker (i think, might be ESTJ i cant tell if they have inferior Fi or Ne honestly) about rearranging some furniture in a place i worked. Kinda funny and interesting. Heres how it went: ENTJ (myself): hey im thinking about moving these tables around as there's a few major issues bothering everyone.. Is it alright if i try that. I/ESTJ: uhhh sure a little might be okay but we dont want to confuse or inconvenience anyone by making big changes though. ENTJ: oh okay.. but i really think this will be a fresh take on a space everyone's already pretty familiar with. I think itll surprise everyone and at the cost of forgoing what we are used to at least we are creating more intention in how we move about and work. Im trying to make it so we bump into each other less, can easily access such and such etc.. I/ESTJ: I suppose. You can try and let's see. ENTJ: //does it, feels satisfied, gets positive feedback from other staff //literally the next day I/ESTJ: //moves everything back without a word 😂
Great talk Chad, as a fellow ENTJ I am amazed at how my vision of building a business has come to fruition in just a few years (I now own several rental properties outright). Our Ni really does grab hold of ideas, the Te analyses them to make sense of them and then one thing you maybe didn't express enough was that we act on these Te / Ni ideas. We can be really ruthless in the execution of those ideas and that's what separates us from the ESTJs. We can work miracles of efficient and effective planning and action.
Pretty good analysis of the similarities and differences between these two types. I actually like ESTJs, but they can be a little intense, rigid and slaves to rules and authority, which can be annoying for me. ENTJs are able to come up with ideas that don't have a stable foundation or track record of success and make these ideas a reality through will, creativity and the belief of possibilities. ESTJs definitely aren't fond of ideas that haven't worked in the past.
I have to disagree with the note that ESTJs love routine. Am an ESTJ and i hate routine imposed on me if it does not help in achieving the goals. However, even if routines r impised, i tend to introduce or improve them to suit my way of performance.
My son typed as an ESTJ, but because if his tendency to be quite bossy and seemingly controlling, I questioned whether he might be an ENTJ (no offence intended), but you have clarified the differences for me. Thank you.
An ESTJ here with an ENTJ as a father. You summed up our relationship to a T. The best way I would describe ESTJs as the most pragmatic of all 16 personality types
My dad and I are both ESTJ-A type. Also very strong leaders other people may think bossy or controlling. The extroverted thinking first introverted feeling last makes the ENTJ and ESTJ look and act alike.
I don't like routine when I don't know first hand what I'm getting into. So yes, imposed routine is a no no, but something that I have deemed worthy of time or enjoyable I will do.
If I could place a scenario for an introverted sensor and extroverted sensor If they were to walk in a messy room the extroverted sensor is likely to say something like "this room is messy I'll clean it up" while an introverted sensor is likely to say "this room is not supposed to be messy because I clean it up every night and I'm not used to it being like this"
This video helped me clarify that I'm stj vs ntj. What's the best way to know if I'm an estj or istj - same functions but different order. How do I know in what order I use those functions? Really enjoy your videos.
I just sit around and analyze things all day. I don't feel much but when I do it's either A) very strong and hard to control or B) barely there, and I don't identify with it, understand it or know why it's there. I also see pictures in my mind of things I've never seen before a lot. And I know a lot about my obsessions and systems I devise (I would hope I'd understand my own systems) but nothing about things I deem irrelevant or a waste of time. I am also very creative and look at things from many angles. What type am I?
Clover Ramonov Clover, I agree with Chad--you should look into it. But if I were to guess, I'd say INTP. Here's why: Since you don't feel much (it's either hot or cold), feeling must be your repressed function (your fourth function). Thus, you would either be ISTP, INTP, ENTJ or INTJ. Since you sit around analyzing stuff all the time, I'm going to assume you have Ti over Te. Thus, you must either be ISTP or INTP. The ISTP is more likely to want to engage with the environment (Fe), so it's more supported that you are INTP, experiencing the world in a nonphysical way. The Ne is further supported because you see pictures in your mind of things you've never seen before. This is very Ne. Of course, things don't work with de facto in a vacuum logic like this, so look into it but my gut feeling is INTP.
I notice that a lot of people explaining differences between two types will rely heavily on weak arguments like “this type is more x” or “this type is less y”... If I don’t fully understand both types, which is why I’m visiting your video, then how will these comparisons help me out? It doesn’t. I appreciate the attempts, either way, but I just needed to point that out.
I "feel" you on the Fi dilemna.. 😅 I feel like it's "wrong" to intellectualize feelings so much, but I mostly just ignore that issue. Had you ever considered yourself to be sociopathic? I mean I know I'm not, but I used to think maybe I was because I didn't get bogged down by feels as much others. 🤔
It is interesting to see my personality oscillate between these two types in particular: ENTJ first, and ESTJ second. It was a practical shift because when I took the test about 4-5 years ago, I was captain of a team sport (ENTJ - commander) and now I have modified it, unconsciously, to adapt to an office environment (ESTJ - executive). Interesting.
@@TrueGenerations d Feeling (Fi) is a cognitive function that helps people think and make decisions based on their feelings, values, and beliefs. This type of thinking is focused on the individual and how they feel inside, rather than being influenced by others.
I don't think the question "why?" crosses my mind at first. I think it hits me later, but with your example (I know it wasn't the actual context), I wouldn't waste time entertaining questions that delve deeper into the origins of the abstract like "why does one plus one equal two?". Not that I don't enjoy entertaining those queries, it's just that there's no point.
+MBTV That's interesting that you say that since I've recently been questioning whether I'm an ENTJ or INTJ. But it may be a stereotypical response for both types.
Mikey the ENTJ I am also an ENTJ. And i had the same view on things like that. But i was forced in college to prove it and in fact i would recommend it to you. Its useful in 2 ways. 1) You get the Axioms of Logic; that way your Te-logic will be compatible with Ti as rationality is based on truth. 2) You can take the axioms and prove by pattern-analysis, which will make your thoughts more succeptible to Si Conclusion: You will improve communication with SJs and TPs as well as FJs and NPs to a certain extent.
I figured that's what the star was in the background is. I am from Houston myself. Good video by the way. I am an ENTJ too, and the whole part about sensing in ENTJs makes more sense to me now, although still a bit strange to me. I don't I understand the sensing function very much, but this helped in terms I can understand.
Allow me to apologize in advance as an INFP, I've worked with this ENTJ for quite sometime, and I honestly can't stand him. He's an underdeveloped ENTJ which means his strength and weakness are through the roof. What I dislike about ENTJ is that they have no regard rather or not you're wholeheartedly up for the plan, and yet he tried to selfishly pulled me in to accomplish their goals knowingly that he can't accomplish it alone.
***** I read the comment, but neither of you understand this ENTJ's problem, I said his strength and weakness are through the roof than other ENTJs... It's just pointless for me to respond when you don't know him.
As an ENTJ I agree 100% with your explanations. I despise routine imposed on me, but am a very routine person.
"We are creatures of habbit but we hate routine"
Wow. You couldn't discribe my schedule better than that.
Jasmine N literally.
ENTJ say that your video is too long.
But I'm curious, so I'll watch...
Exactly.

well said, good comment
I take it back. You're doing exactly what I do, generating thought through speaking. Bravo.

oh my. Your videos and explanations are by far the easiest to understands. Te rocks.

One of the best videos on this sibject
Thank you from a true entj. We are visionaries. Well done.
The sense of duty for an ESTJ actually comes out of their introverted feeling, not their sensing. Good video of course
Yes EVERY ENTJ is different, even younger version of me, is different than I right now

You are right mate

I'm an ENTJ-A, and I totally agree with what you are saying, great stuff
Estj's Entj's think the same way in a lot of ways. With a few diffrences.

Clover Ramonov In that case I changed my mind. You're prob an ENTP

You're wrong about the inferior two functions not playing a big role. Even for estj's, Ne and Fi influence our behavior

They use different cognitive functions minus dominant and inferior
You’re wrong Fi is about how you feel about things (selfishness) Fe is more about how others feel like empathy.
lol, no

Agree with the ESTJs limiting vision part, or as I typically say “dumb af” 😅
Damn. I'm ENTJ and you are SPOT ON 😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂
Intj you are I think
Teacup you are, I think.
True Generations I’m an xoxo type! I will never know my type. It keeps changing! But I still think this man is intj
great vids. keep it up

You understand me so well
shout out to Texas!
Spot on
You talk the way I do
So true... About routine.😩
NICE , U r ENTJ too
i love your accent
