  • We join the crew working the last surviving steam-powered Mersey tug, the Daniel Adamson, more affectionately known as the Steamship Danny (previously known as the Ralph Brocklebank) as she returns along the Manchester Ship Canal from Liverpool, back to her home mooring at Sutton Weaver on the Weaver Navigation.
Colin explores the 118 year-old ship, inside and out, showing you how The Danny operates from the furnaces to the twin-engine, and the wheelhouse on the bridge. Don't miss this fascinating insight into a piece of living maritime history.

An absolutely brilliant Vlog, It's so good to see some of these old ships/boats being given a new lease of life instead of disappearing from history, and plus they look so good.

Back in 2002, we, the family, had a narrowboat holiday from Cholmondeston on the Middlewich branch to Ellesmere Port where we stayed overnight in the museum and moored next to the 'ghostly' Danny. I feel so privelidged to have met him/her and would love to see him/her again. One day perhaps, but meanwhile I'm addicted to your fantastic videos and this one was a real gem for me.

The Danny would make a great wedding venue, with a blessing from the ship's captain.

Thanks heaps for that guys. Did not know that about the church but it makes sense. Makes me sad when vandals destroy pieces of historic buildings. Always learning something from you guys. Very informative and entertaining. Love the history of the steam powered tug it’s great to have volunteers to help keep this stuff alive. Stay safe fellas can’t wait for your next video.

, I remember seeing that every time I went down the boat Museum just wishing that someone come and fix her up it's a lovely old boat just wish that more people could bring old boats back as we live in an age where everything is down to the second we need to slow our pace in this life

The Danny is a lovely boat, my husband said to tell you he loved it. Couldn’t believe how small the Silver Fox looked at the side of it, didn’t recognise it at first. 😊😊👍🏻👍🏻
