I retired and moved to Thailand, 2 decades ago, i'm now 75 this year. Yep, he is right about Phuket, BKK & Chang Mai, that is why I live in Isan. No floods, fires, earthquakes or snow, nid noy crop burning (Dec), the hot season is Jul/Aug but little humidity. The rains start Jun and stops Oct, usually @ night, no rain Nov to May. Winter is dry, mid 40f is the low, usually t-shirts & a light jacket @ night... The best about Isan - few tourist & I live on a farm in a 2-story, 2,000+SF home I built. I'm now the only Farang living in our village, but Udorn Thani & UD Town/Pizza is a 25 minute train/PU ride away. The Train Station is a short walk from our house in the Village and BKK is a 12 hour over-night sleeper-train (cost $30-USD OW). A Plane ride cost the same, but traveling to the airports is a pain in the A$$.. Thai Immigration keeps changing their Visa requirements, which have to be renewed every year. But is better than the USA, which is currently not issuing Visa's to Thai's, unless you are willing to pay $10,000+ to a Lawyer and the price is going UP next month... I decided on Thailand, because they Enforce their Immigration & Illegal Drug Laws. Violate their Laws = Jail &/or NO Visa/banned from returning. Possession of a gun/ammo could equal to Life in jail. My family & I can walk their streets 24/7 SAFELY. Excellent roads, but Driving is an Adventure. Our Village has dependable electricity, Internet & water, about $15/Month each. Medical services are modern and inexpensive, FREE for Thais. Most Thais were taught English in school and their education thru 4-Years, most Colleges, is FREE.. I did not go to PI due to their annual hurricanes, in Isan there are few severe storms. In Nam, Cambodia & Lao they have Visa & property issues...
I like Scott , he’s a young bloke in a 75 year old body .. I reckon he’s gunna live till he’s well in his 90’s and have a great life in the Philippines.. I applaud 👏 him ..
Bj Nark, I am 72 living noth of Cebu City and own my house and also anoher house in Car Car city for my GF.. I am much happier here than back in Australia and now here 2 years.
Hahaha - I love talking to and listening to self-made men who are well travelled. They have a much better understanding of the world and of the people within it. They have an energy that defies their age and ignites motivation in others. They are pleasant to be around even when discussing negative events in their past. And many times their stories sound like complete or partial BS yet you know it is True as you remember times were different back then. I also retired early at 58 and was engaged to my filipina within a week of visiting her in the Philippines. We did wait a year before getting married but these stories do reinforce how I feel being with my Filipina and being in that part of Asia. Great Interview Mark !!!
Great interview as always ! Hope you are doing well Mark and so is Jen and the baby coming out soon. It’s nice to see the interviews taken place in a beautiful scenery, with the sound of the ocean in the background. I hope everything will work out great and I’m still one of your viewers. I know what’s happening around. Take care and looking forward to new Live video again !
Just come across your well titled page. Enjoyed your Interesting chat with Scott, as we are of a similar age. I've yet to visit the Philippines and have considered it as my next trip, but have been put off by reports on other vlogs of endless traffic jams and air pollution.
I hope I will have his health when I have his age, as I may be that old before I can move to the Philippines because of family commitments. As he said: you can hire someone to take care of you when you need help. The only thing I worry about is if I should get dementia and become unable to handle my own finances. It is so difficult to find someone in the Philippines you can really trust with money. I've heard so many stories about guys having been cheated out of their money and they still had their full mental capacity.
Hi Mark…I’m glad your still doing interviews despite all the drama. Keep doing interviews as you have a huge following that will continue to support your channel and ignore the jealous haters. I’m excited for you and Jen to have the baby next month….God Bless😊
Great interview with an impressive guy at 75 years old and still actively doing things and now living overseas. I'd like to hear back from him after he checks out that retirement place in Santander (south Cebu island) that Old Dog Paul has a video on and hear about how it's development is proceeding. It's the kind of place I might want to move to when I need to be in an Assisted Living kind of retirement facility.
Hello Mark. I’m over in the Philippines at the moment. We spent a few days in Duma last week. Went to Negros, then spent 4 days in Siquijor, now in Iligen. I’ve been one of your subscribers for must be almost 3 years. Would loved to have met you, but I was thinking your such a busy guy. I’ve heard little bits and pieces about what’s going on with some of these other You tubers. In my eyes mate you and Jen are good people. Philippines is an amazing country. I will be back. I’m retired now so in the coming months I’ll come back again. Love your channel Mark. 🍻
Hey Mark, good morning from Florida. Awesome video and interview. I love the different perspectives of the Expats that are considering or have relocated because that’s my intentions. Learning the to dos and the do nots 😎✌🏽
Yes you have a connection to my connection in Massachusetts.. Most of my Uncles there in Massachusetts.. Where shoe makers,, but lost there jobs from the Chinese compentation .
This guy has a interesting stories, attitude and I seems to have lived by his own rules most of his life. Hope he finds some happiness and those associated with him aren't left in his wake.
Nice guy with some good plans.. great interview and I really enjoyed it.. you are wrong about the herbicides and pesticides and the Filipino vegetables and fruits..i met my Filipino fiance / wife 7 years ago and she would take the phone and video her working in the field of her parents. They are very poor and live in a house without running water in the mountains. she lived with her parents on a vegetable farm in the mountains on Southern cebu Island.. they would buy spray herbicide and pesticides and also fertilizer.. I bought her some mask and begged her to wear them but her parents would not but she did while spraying bug killer on the vegetables and weed killer..all I can tell everybody needs to wash a vegetables and fruit very very good.. I'm sure there are organic farms but you have to look for them.. if I could find an organic form and visit it and it was really organic with no pesticide or chemicals I would gladly pay a little bit more for vegetables and fruits.. thanks for the interview😊👍👍
Interesting your voice doesn't have the same conviction Mark. You use to say, about us viewers, that most of us didn't have the courage to visit Shangri-La in Phil. Turns out that maybe most of us are suited for the lives we have. I'm considering becoming a snow bird to Phil for the weather. Honestly, the interactions with other foreigners is such a turn off now after what occurred there.
Good interview...which sermed a bit short on detail. Scott at 75 may be a model for other seniors. He is doing all the righr things and possibli its because he has done all the right things. Grandpa with a young woman is a bit cringe until you realize he leaves them better off than they would have been had he not come on the scene. Good luck.
75 Year Old , God Luv Um. I noticed he has ants in his pants, kinda of old saying? Stated had many parts replaced recently, starting to dating 20 plus year olds again , may run the battery down abit. I understand he wants that spark he can’t find in the US with older women his age? Only Thing he Better have medical insurance on the Ready while over seas, Good Luck
I would strongly urge the interviewee to abstain from alcohol for a full month to see if his eyesight improves. Frequent alcohol → frequent blood sugar spikes → bad for your retinas (and other tissues in your body)
Hi Mark. Are you still able to record at Ground Zero? I’m sure you are aware of all the social chatter of your channel’s demise supposedly as a result of the restaurant voicing a new policy. Just wonder if you are affected and if so do you just find a new setting? Cheers.
Mark, I been watching your videos on and off for a long time. I heard you say you had a bypass and some health issues. My wife and I have property over there and we plan on moving over there within the year. I had a quad bypass ( in December) and now I'm a diabetic. I have some questions about medical availability and medicine would you be able to answer any of these questions? P.s I like your interviews. Take care Danial
Great interview thank you
Thank you for watching ☺️
This guy is an interviewers dream. Ask one question and he won't stop talking.lol😂
A happy man who knows his place in the world, great interview

Scot great personality can imagine when he was 20 - 30 years old 🤣👍
I like how he doesn't Trust Ex Pats. Should he be Trusted. Who made him the Shot Caller?
Great guy and good interview 👍wishing you and your family all the best 🇳🇴
