It's been like decades since I last heard this scream. Still incredible seeing how powerful it was, considering the audience reaction.

Who else feels like Erique when working fast on something, racing towards last minute (in a hurried pace), while hearing this opera play inside one’s head?

They could’ve closed down this opera theatre permanently if there is a phantom on the loose.

It was an original creation for the movie (as WWII was going on and there was no way to determine if the operas were in the public domain or not and thus would be hard to get royalty payments to the composers or their estates) but Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony was used as the basis.
Anatole (the singer) was played by Nelson Eddy (at the time one of the most famous operatic baritones in America). Eddy also provided all the voices of "The Whale Who Wanted To Sing At The Met" (rereleased later as "Willie the Operatic Whale") in the Disney package feature "Make Mine Music".

Talk about "bringing down the house." That opera was a "smash hit." So was the chandelier.
