Now days I always work on one thing at a time, and most of the time I’m on the practice greens and driving range. I honestly don’t play many rounds of golf anymore. I used to only play rounds and never practiced and never shot better than a 85, now I always practice and when I do play rounds I constantly shoot around 76. It’s definitely changed my game and mindset on the course. Practice, practice, practice is the best way to improve your game.
just watched Bryan Bros 2 v 2 with Jon Rahm and now I get to watch Sergio iron tips. So amazing how youtube golf is getting us so close to legendary golfers. afterall, they are both Masters winners
Another good vid from Rick with great tips! Was just thinking of the progression of great Spanish golfers over the years..Seve...Jose Maria...Sergio....and now Jon Rahm. I'm sure I probably left out a few?
I went to the range today and kinda changed my swing around to something similar to this and swinging 80%. I started hitting it pure and it was the greatest feeling ever. Like the ball was bouncing off of it and ive never hit my irons so high and far with little effort. Think its all coming from my core or legs cause my hips are turned and almost through before my clubs gets around.
Really great swing, but what surprise me is the tilt in Sergio's shoulders. Most trainers claim that shoulders should be parallel to the ground! I struggle with this myself and will try not to force my shoulders parallel to the ground. Curious to see if my consistency improves. Thanks @Rickshielsgolf for bringing tis content. 👍
Love these! The one with Tommy really gave me some good tips on short game! Would love so see something like this from all the tour pros you get the privilege to play with. Keep up the awesome work as always Rick! P.S. we need a Birdie Sauce putter cover🙌
Sergio forget to mention one more important tip. You need to fill , in your wrists, that club head is making circle, on the way up, and down. Remember don't cut the corner.
I literally just played 9 with 3 swing thoughts... stay flexed, swing in the box and get weight left. Instantly went one iron up in carry distance and was absolutely flushing it.
These are some truths. For me, when I had an issue with swaying to the trail side, I had to feel like I was going to my lead side with my back in the backswing. On video I was just staying centered. Staying centered saved me shots as a direct obvious effect.
I really wished Sergio had a tip on how to prevent dipping, as I'm struggling with it. When I hit my irons, I don't necessarily feel like I'm moving my body downwards, but it's always very noticeable on video. It's genuinely challenging not to dip, when you naturally tend to do so.
Sergio has such great hand action (and thus shaft lag), hard to see and appreciate until you see him swing in slow motion. Something us amatoors (yeah, I spelled it that way deliberately) just wish for.....
I always liked Sergio Garcia's swing,, particularly the way he drops the arms and club into that flat or layed off position. It gives the illusion of tremendous lag, almost Hogan like. Maybe he's toned down on that over the years.
Sergio has some UNIGUE moves with his hands on the club that occur between his start to the downswing and the strike. This occurs so fast that you can only really see it in slo-motion. I think THAT is why he stands out as a super ball STRIKER!!
We all know Sergio's secrets to hitting pure: Grip with your left hand, then lay the grip over with your right hand, now adjust your left hand, remove your right hand, regrip with right hand and at the same time re-open and adjust the left hand - repeat 16 times. You won't play any better, but your competition will go so insane you'll beat them nearly every time... either that or wear bright yellow outfit from head to toe.
if your coming to the President's Cup in Montreal, you need to feature some Canada. Come to Nova Scotia and play Cabot Links and Cabot cliffs. Write me and bring a local veteran. I'll be you local contact and tour guide.
“The secret to striking irons pure every single time is to 1. Get married 2. Join LIV & play just a few tournaments a year 3. Make sure you take the wobble out of your knees” - Sergio
S. Garcia, after betraying the European Tour and the PGA Tour (where he got rich and famous !) by accepting blood money from an organization which disregards democracy, human and women rights, has the audacity to ask for a spot on the next Ryder Cup Team. There is more dignity , sportsmanship and pride in losing that event without him than winning it with him. What a disappointment and disgrace for that sport.
yeah sure Corey, 25 professional wins, has a green jacket and is one of the best Ryder Cup players of all time. When you break 90 at your local muni, let us know ok bud
Nice. Going to add this to my other 109 secrets list for striking irons pure.
💀
There's only one thing to do. Practice tempo. Everything else will fall into place. I guarantee
Make sure you take at least 10 of those thoughts on the course, should be a wonderful round. lol
Lmao 100% facts

what a great honor to be in the presence of such a great golfer....Sergio was in for a treat all day
Calm down, he can be your boyfriend later
the tour pro/coach coaching videos are the easiest watches! something almost therapeutic about watching them!
Glad you like them!
Agreed. It's because they don't convolute what they're conveying through bullshit vernacular.
just watched Bryan Bros 2 v 2 with Jon Rahm and now I get to watch Sergio iron tips. So amazing how youtube golf is getting us so close to legendary golfers. afterall, they are both Masters winners
Thank LIV golf
Perfect. Rick knows what we need, and Sergio knows everything.
Love Sergio!!!
Nice. Thanks. Wish this video was longer.
I've been practicing my irons this whole week. Got a tee time Wednesday morning so this is great
I love that he practices and preaches a very simple swing. No sway in the backswing helps us mere mortals try to stay consistent.
Exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Rough round yesterday. Time to hit the practice range. Thanks Rick and thank you Sergio
That swing is like watching water move around rocks, so natural it’s almost an art 🇨🇦
Okay Trudeau
@@Joker-yh2xg would that make you Joe Biden? What a clever and well thought out comment
I agree and I'd say the same for watching Fred Couples swing.
Lovely sound when the ball is hit. On the rare occasions I get that sound, I know immediately it’s a great shot
Rick Schiels new job What a good career move
Best golf tips on RUclips ❤❤❤
I've always struggled staying balanced so I will try this. I find I try and kill the ball a lot and fall forward.
Another good vid from Rick with great tips!
Was just thinking of the progression of great Spanish golfers over the years..Seve...Jose Maria...Sergio....and now Jon Rahm. I'm sure I probably left out a few?
Sergio has always been a master class in iron plan. Pure gold
sergio was always one of the better ball strikers on tour. it was always the short game that let him down
Fantastic vid lesson by Sergio! 👏
Rick, more than anyone else gets access to these pros and it is absolutely brilliant. Priceless. 🤩
Sergio is a class act. Very friendly and a humble guy. Is it true that Sergio grips his clubs in the middle of the grip, and clubs up?
Thanks for all the great content Rick!
Sergio! Huge fan Rick again your credentials are amazing that you have these amazing pros on your show. Yeah, that strike is what we all dream of!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a new Tony Montana.!!!.. Sergio has the natural sound.. more than any i have heard.. thanks to both of you...
So balanced and simple.

Sergio has helped me tremendously. My cup spitting accuracy is off the charts now.
Your head staying in a box is such a key. Great, great video!
This is the key to great iron shots
Love these! The one with Tommy really gave me some good tips on short game! Would love so see something like this from all the tour pros you get the privilege to play with. Keep up the awesome work as always Rick!
P.S. we need a Birdie Sauce putter cover🙌
This was a great little video
Serg's iron strikes are ridiculous, I love watching him play.
Great video Rick!
Makes it seem so easy
Balance, tempo…..= quality strike! He’s seen it all so you got to listen to experience! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I know that their time is valuable, but I would love a deep dive or a coaching session. Love these.
A thing of beauty!
What about the john rahn swing where he dips through the swing?
Rick really does know his stuff when you listen to him observe Garcia's technique.
A thing of beauty 🏌️♂️
Centerness.... learnt a new word there 🙂
These are some truths. For me, when I had an issue with swaying to the trail side, I had to feel like I was going to my lead side with my back in the backswing. On video I was just staying centered. Staying centered saved me shots as a direct obvious effect.
Get in!

What a sweet swing.
What a striker of golf ball. 🏌♂️👍
The sound of Sergio's ball is unique ,probably the best iron players the last 20 years with Olazabal ,I am spanish so what😅.
Love these types of videos Csnt believe they’re free
Thank you gentlemen. 👍🏻👍🏻😊🇩🇪
Vamooooooos 🔥 🫶🏼
Why does Sergio move his hands forward first before starting his backswing? Does that help to make sure you have shaft lean at impact?
Don't ask just do it 😂
Can somebody tell me if the downswing should feel like a baseball swing with a tilt?
What golf course is that?
Sergio has such great hand action (and thus shaft lag), hard to see and appreciate until you see him swing in slow motion. Something us amatoors (yeah, I spelled it that way deliberately) just wish for.....
I watched Sergio play and it seemed like he was so good. That day his short game let him down. The sound off his club face was different in a good way
I miss these kinda videos
There's a name for this swing. Stack and Tilt.
Weight forward, shoulder down, arms straight, hands in, tuck hips. Perfect form as usual, Sergio.
I think me and alot of other golfers try to hit the ball hard, i wonder what type of power he puts through his swing
Not being hungover probably helps. That's the single biggest difference between me and Sergio! 😂
Any tips from Sergio you really should listen too and try
2:14 it’s the little things that shows what a master class he is. The amount of development in your accessory muscle to be able to do that is insane.
I am ridiculous at striking irons too...but in a bad way
I always liked Sergio Garcia's swing,, particularly the way he drops the arms and club into that flat or layed off position. It gives the illusion of tremendous lag, almost Hogan like. Maybe he's toned down on that over the years.
Definitely the hardest part of my game is consistency in my irons
I love Rick Shiels! And Guy.
Like if IRON STRIKING is what needs improvement, or Comment for SOMETHING ELSE
(Let’s see the results!)
Sergio has some UNIGUE moves with his hands on the club that occur between his start to the downswing and the strike. This occurs so fast that you can only really see it in slo-motion.

what are you doing on this morning show (rick schiels look alike)
Poetry in motion.
I wish this was longer and more detailed 😭
This is exactly how i strike my irons
Never liked Sergio that much, but damn ... that strike is pure.
You can just see the power in Sergio’s legs.
Iron game is extremely difficult especially trying to stay tall when your short. :(
We all know Sergio's secrets to hitting pure: Grip with your left hand, then lay the grip over with your right hand, now adjust your left hand, remove your right hand, regrip with right hand and at the same time re-open and adjust the left hand - repeat 16 times. wow, imagine getting to hit golf balls on that range everyday. Gotta work hard in life man.
also i enjoy watching how much he lags the club
So pure…
When you get advice straight from the pro himself rather than a coach, sometimes it makes way more sense to
Being hugely talented helps
No amount of tips are saving my game to be honest 😂
Is Rick now on the Saudi payroll?
any more than 3 swing thoughts clouds the brain.
Please can I have any spare driver your own?
I know the pros make it look easy but dammit , its not that easy !!
Sergio is a big crybaby. No thanks!
“The secret to striking irons pure every single time is to 1. Get married 2. Join LIV & play just a few tournaments a year 3. Make sure you take the wobble out of your knees” - Sergio
who is this guy "Sergio". never heard of him
More LIV. Not interested

Everything he showed to be wrong is me!
LIV 🤢
Seryio gorceea 😂 at least give it a try we have to listen to your half mouthed English 😅
Pure stinking…huh….that’s why he can’t win shit…..then left to go get a pay check and finishing last against PGA rejects…..
Just the 16 European Tour and 11 PGA Tour wins. Including a Green Jacket and the record for most points in Ryder Cups... but sure. Can't win things.
yeah sure Corey, 25 professional wins, has a green jacket and is one of the best Ryder Cup players of all time. When you break 90 at your local muni, let us know ok bud
@@RandomHeroXJack exactly Sergio is a future hall of famer, Corey hasn't done shit on a golf course
@@welcomebackpotter722 he’s a future hall of gamer? He’s been eligible for 7 yrs now…..lol
Great advice 🏌️ short and sweet as well which helps.
