Been trying to write music like this. That sounds like doubles. I think my hits happen to far apart, and for to long. But with them being patches it's hard to have them open properly by filter, and have enough time to get the hit out.

They're not really 16-bar loops, so much as they're 16-bar drops. He picked certain tracks that worked well together, then chopped them together to give them a new bass line. It's easy in theory, but really hard in practice. I found these clips around the same time I started DJing a few years back, and it definitely takes a good ear to hear tracks that work well together.
