- Game Dev Tycoon is a fantastic management tycoon video game where you have to try and run a game developer whilst not going bankrupt! It might sound rather difficult because if you make the worst games your going go bankrupt fast as no one would buy a bad game! Well introducing the EA DLC strat! Because today the spiffing brit will be making the worst games possible by mirroring the game development strategy of electronic arts! Thats right prepare yourself for 1 million copies of fifa being resold with as much DLC as possible! Because why make a good game when you can just make a terrible game and plaster it with micro transactions and DLC! I personally cant wait to create the perfect game! Not a game with straight 10 scores but rather a game that creates millions of DLC revenue! So today The Spiffing Brit will be discovering if GAME DEV TYCOON is a perfectly balanced game or if the EA DLC strategy only challenge which causes an infinite money glitch is overpowered. Fun fact: all of the dlc for the sims 4 costs almost a thousand dollars. EA has a bad rep for good reason
And almost all of their contents (seasons, pets, magic...) were offered almost identically in both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 at similar prices. So they're effectively reselling the same DLC for each game. It's kind of a joke actually :D

They are definitely incompetent. I say that because when they released the fifa 2021 & updated their support page online somehow MY mobile number has been used.
Iv had this number for 15+ years, it took me a long time to work why all of a sudden I was getting hundreds of calls & answer phone msgs. 🤬

@@Emmafem98 Well he left out the part where EA begins using that DLC blood money to buy out smaller companies, drain them and simply leave their shriveled husks in the trash bin while making those developers work on FIFA Micros for about a year before they are retrenched so they can save money... So yeah a parody... goodness that got a bit dark....

@@chattychatotchannel You can change the color set with Lazy Newb Pack. "Graphics" tab, then "Customize". At the bottom you have colors, I personally use Lee_V2, but Dawnbringer is rather nice as well.

Well, if your dlcs make more money than the games themselves you should have called your studio Paradox interactive.
You could probs get EU4, HOI4, Stellaris and Vic 2 (all with all dlc) for less than sims 4 with all dlc
@@juicy342yt4 almost but eu4 has $600 worth of dlcs whilst sims 4 has $800 which with the $500-600 of the other paradox games definitely beats the sims.

@@AtomicArtumas its actually a little different. Take an example of digital picture NFTs. The jake paul nate Robinson knockout image sold for a lot of money recently. That picture is not like a csgo knife. Anyone can produce an exact, pixel perfect copy of that shot just by screenshotting that image but you can't replicate a csgo knife in csgo. You can in private servers but others won't be able to see the knife. Owning the original image doesn't really matter in case of digital images because anyone can fully replicate it unlike owning famous paintings that cannot be 100% replicated. It's just the case of rich people buying things just because they want to.

Having 230 hours into this game since it was released, I am not sure why this simple game is so addicting.
Looks like its time to re release Skyroom 3 every 5 years with slightly altered graphics, and items but keep all the bugs. Literally a money printer that would drain small nations of their currency.

9/10 times the lootbox is actually a mimic that you don't get any loot from. This is the latest innovation in surprise mechanics to make them even more surprising.

Exploit idea: When I first played this some time ago, I believe the quality of your game was judged based upon your average previous scores. So ... what would happen if you spammed out the worst game possible a few times in a row, then actually put a little effort into the next? Would be interested to see if it works.
Fun fact - skyroom3 is Morrowind IRL so yea, it was 10/10

The anachronisms in this game are kinda funny. You're developing text-based games for 8-bit machines but you're not using a custom engine? Back then each game basically was its own custom engine. You have DLC and patches? How?

I tried playing Game Dev Tycoon a while ago, but after struggling a bit I remember looking up some info and finding out that to really min-max the profits in the game you can't do something like really try to make great games - as if you do, the gaming public 'gets used' to that quality and judges your future releases much more harshly for it.
While there's some logic in that, gameplay wise it makes it far less engaging if your strategy is supposed to be "let's not actually try our best here and intentionally aim for 6s and 7s instead of 9s and 10s".

Valve released TF2 as a paid game, then later added hats, then made the game freemium. They're pretty late to both fronts, by a few years (Maplestory, 2003).
