- Dollar General Penny Shopping For Beginners for RETAIL ARBITRAGE. Join me as i go penny shopping at dollar general for the FIRST TIME EVER. My first time i scored some items! These items i will be using personally as well as selling some of them on Amazon FBA and eBay, finding these items by RETAIL ARBITRAGE.

Hey! Here are a few things that should be stated for those who have never heard of “penny items” or “Penny item Tuesday” 😊 Technically each store is supposed to pull all of those “pennied out” items off the shelves to be sent back to the warehouses. It should be accomplished before they open on Tuesday. There is no official Dollar General penny item Tuesday. If you’re lucky enough to find some of the items then they must sell it to you for the penny. You should NEVER go into a Dollar General and ask “where are the Penny items for today??”. If the employees are doing their jobs, they’ll tell you that they have no idea what you’re talking about, that there is no such thing. The stores where you find a bunch of the items, are stores where the employees just really don’t care if they pull the items or not. Just wanted to throw this out there because your video kind of gives the impression that penny day is an “official” Dollar general sale day and its not. 😉 Btw, I enjoy watching your videos 😊

I just heard about this from Scott last night. Today I went to four DGs near me. The first one had just two Dayquil 16 count that were mixed in with the 24s. The second and third were both busts. On the fourth I hit the motherlode. 63 penny items. I got up to the cashier and he started scanning them and said "I'm glad you found all of these so I don't have to pay for hazmat to come and haul them all away". Very nice. I will go back to that store again next week.

I went penny shopping yesterday and got 53 items. 53 cents. Xyzal was a penny. I got 6 of them. 😁😁

There is a regular version and a pro the pro is $40 per month.......if the items dont sell you also get charged certain storage fees as well but that's fba not merchant fulfilled
This is a pretty good video Shane. I have scored good items on my penny items at the DG. There is a lady who runs a resale shop and she normally gets it and I let her. she is cool so I just pass on by!
The Dollar General stores near me pull the "penny" items really quick. Just once have I been lucky enough to get something for a penny in DG and it was purely by accident.

I do not have it
Items DO NOT Penny every tues. sometimes the list is short other times it is a lot of items sometimes NOTHING will Penny out. Tuesday is the day DG registers reset the new wkly prices so it is best day to penny shop to find the items. If you find more than 1 of anything on the list BUY ALL THE ITEMS - because if you buy one then the store employee knows they did not pull it and will go and take it off the shelf.it is not selfish to buy all ,you can resell, donate or gift the items you do not want or need.
P.s i gave a thumbs up but he need to explain courtesy rules of Penny shopping like not leaving a mess when hunting replacing any ,mistakes if you get to register and it is not a penny etc. plus dont ask the employees and
about what i said above about finding more than one of any item on list what happens. it is NOT all about having a list and looking

@@RiseNGrindPicker Yup. Was up listing late last night/this morning (3am) and preparing shipments and all of a sudden the sales graph quit working on every item I checked and couldn't figure out why. Then lock appeared and said you have to pay $15 Euros a month (They are based in Germany) to access Sales Graph!! :(

How do you find out which items are for a penny?
Christa coupons is a YTer that specializes in penny items and coupon stacking, she has a website, poweredbycoupons.com
They use an app for scanning penny items at Dollar General is called "Penny Finder" It cost $2.99 and it a one time fee.
But they also print lists her website and she actually does text blasts with information, I think those are free.

You should say "penny item" more often in your penny item video while searching for penny items, also suggest you say I don't know and I'll have you look it up as much as possible while you are searching for stuff, maybe even back it up with reminding us to scan everything. Thanks.

Rise N Grind Picker Wheeler do I do the research at my friend. I’m needing to save $$$ majorly due to lack of income due to my injuries. I got screwed my income is based off of 5 yrs instead of 10. For 5 yrs all my W-2’s were in boxes and I had close to $5600 coming back and just recently found out I only had 3 yrs. now if my attorney at the time would had given me this info I’d be getting more $$. My dollar general doesn't have a clearance section. And def, no penny items. Beat I did was post Christmas clearance .25 cents for some holiday decorations.
I've never heard of a dg without a clearance section. Mine is super small. But every dg has a chance of there being penny items. Its stuff they miss pulling on tuesdays
@@gwendorphins7 yeah maybe it's a NYC thing, best they offer is a "dollar section" which has pretty much, junk you wouldn't pay a dollar for.
Additionally, the dollar section is about 6ft directly across the one of the registers.

I live rural, too, and I can think of at least 4 within normal driving area for me, too! Probably more i dont normally hit even. Never knew what this was a thing! Definitely going to look for this. Are there only items left on Tuesdays, or could you find them not yet pulled on same Monday?

laclosetfreak try that Saran Wrap on a big roll they sell at Walmart in office section. A lot of ppl wrap their amazon books in it. Shrink wrap that’s the name of it-Hope that helps you out. Best wishes

I went to our local Dollar General and found all of these penny items. Once we got to the register to buy them she said oh I cannot sell these things to you they have to be returned to corporate. Sorry.
Nicely explain to them that dg policy and state law is if it's on the sales floor they have to sell it, the if they argue with you politely ask for the district managers number or call cooperate urself.
agree with meghan - if you look on some of the penny deal facebook pages there is a photo the corp policy on penny items floating around. It states if a customer brings a penny item to the register they HAVE to sell it. Once the customer leaves they should go back and try to find any remaining and pull them. Print it and keep it in your purse. I think a lot of them say that because I heard they get in trouble for not pulling them if they show up in sales.
