As an American tourist in London I love these videos. Especially the parts where you display your utter contempt for American tourists. If I see you out and about where I'm touring, I'll be sure to give you a big high-five and say something obnoxious.
Great video, Andrew. You’re up there as one of my absolute favourite Scottish, London-focused, moderately transport-themed, periodically uploading, RUclipsrs. Well done!
Awesome content! The "Tidlewave of Beer" reminds me of "The Great Boston Molasses Flood" in my own city. Perhaps Beer made for a more enjoyable way to go...?
Genuinely gutted that I’ve only just accidentally come across your channel ...... now watched 5 vids on the bounce - refreshing that someone is briefed on the topic they are talking about, with a slice of humour thrown in for good measure, funny man - Subbed 👍👍
Well, it's now over a year later, coronavirus has joined the brexit plague, Crossrail still hasn't opened and nobody yet knows where brexit is going. I was sad to note the passing of that rather fey 1960's fountain in front of Centrepoint.
I don't live in England, but your question about what is the history of where I live is worth commenting. I'm in Virginia, in an area that Native American's inhabited and did perfectly fine for thousands of years before the Brits showed up and drove them to extinction pretty much. Then it became part of parcels of farms and so forth and then battle grounds for the Civil War. Many locals claim to see Civil War ghosts from time to time and eerily we hear guns firing at odd times. Now we're just part of the community commuting to Northern Virginia or running businesses to supply that population. We also are part of the 55+ retirement boom. Boomers. Yes. So, Native Americans, Brits, Slave Owners, Civil War and Suburbia.
😕 my backyard is unceeded coast Salish territory, stolen from the people who lived on the land since time immemorial by European settlers, who have since erased most of the oral history of the region through a series of cultural genocides... and from 1890~ - 1956 an electric interurban tram ran through the area.
“A claustrophobic collection of Pret A Manger’s” best description of London ever 😂😂😂😂😂
your channel is actually the most underrated thing on this website lol
"If you're watching this from 2020, just remember how awful it was..."
Oh you sweet summer child...
LMAO simpler times

AMAZING !!
I used to live just around the corner (Goodge St) for almost 10 years, and I had absolutely no idea of the history of this place.
Awesome content! The "Tidlewave of Beer" reminds me of "The Great Boston Molasses Flood" in my own city. Perhaps Beer made for a more enjoyable way to go...?
Watched this morning with a smile. If only we knew where we were heading. Lovely stuff again. Keep them coming.

Me: I have plans today, so no RUclips. Exploring London: I am about to destroy this man's whole career
Another fab, fascinating & funny video Andrew. Your talents are wasted in medicine.
Still living these videos mate... When's the next one? Was thinking Hampstead or Elephant&Castle would be good??
Harry Thompson that’s very kind, I’m in a quagmire of misery over work related stuff for another month and then I’m hoping to get back on it
What book was featured in the video?
'London, A History in Maps' by Peter Barber

Well at least we've got 2/3 of crossrail now
Saying what we're all thinking about We Will Rock You

Amazing stuff, it's a very very different story to London but no less interesting.

Hey Andrew I really enjoy your videos there funny and educational :)
I also make documentaries like what you do on my channel :)
Really like your videos, but you need some click baity thumbnails to get the riff raff watching
Yeah I'm not great at marketing the channel...
Any luck getting rid of those bodies? You could hide them in as crossrail tunnel, be safe for years.
i like bloomsbury
8:55 Wait until you experience COVID (hope you are feeling back to normal by now) and the horribleness of everything else in 2021
Crossroads burial. Vampires?
