If anyone curious what these pins were at 5:16, he was cleaning with a sharpie:
pin 106 is VSTBY and pin 105 is ALSPI_SCLK. VSTBY probably blocked bios SCLK communication by bringing to HIGH state all the time.
Super io model is: IT5570e if anyone wants to verify. Schematic unavailable, but one of the clevo laptops has same superio, NH77DBQ, schematic available.
Motherboard model is da0p5dmb8c0 if anyone wants to look for the schematic.
I've dealt with this problem twice on two of my desktops. This one drop of water went *exactly* over the SuperIO and shorted two pins. The first time, I just cleaned the board and it worked, I didn't know why. The second time, I was already much more versed on electronics and had better tools and a microscope, so I found the problem and fixed it (intentionally, this time 😁)

The super IO thought that 'spec' of whatever it was, was a resistor across those two pins. GOOD LESSON learned!!!!! Nice job Sorin! 👍

I have in my hands an identical hp laptop with the same water damage but unfortunately after careful cleaning with isopropyl alcohol the pc does not start, the charge LED on but nothing on the screen, the oxidation mainly affected the SIO ITE. I noticed that the led on CapsLook blinking, I reprogrammed the bios but nothing. I wonder can I replace the SIO ITE without reprogramming it?

Hi, i fixed the no charging problem and i can access the windows already. But i cannot use the keyboard and touchpad. It’s weird because only the airplane and adjust brightness key working but all keys are not functioning but it’s working in bios. Can you help me with this issue?

Hope you will excuse this question. I have an old motherboard and installed Win XP. Problem is that motherboard ethernet, audio and pci audio card are recognised as existing in device manager but, when the drivers are installed they simply do not work. i.e. no sound from the motherboard or pci audio card and the ethernet repeatedly tries to acquire an address and never succeeds. I have not come across this before and would be grateful for any ideas on how to proceed.
