I have no choice, I have to use those because I live in California they say Pepperballs are illegal. Pepperspray is fine, bullets are fine, knives are fine, but pepperballs crosses the red line. Yeah thats California for ya.
@@chrisbreezy-ryanbarbosa4320 Yeah Byrna is the only company that can sell to California residents. They actually worked with the state to come up with a program that will let us buy Pepperball rounds legally. No other company that I researched for the six months I looked around had any plans to work with California so they could have sales here also. It's a shame because there are hundreds of thousands of potential customers just waiting to buy these less than lethal products.
@@chrisbreezy-ryanbarbosa4320 You're only legally allowed to use pepper balls as a security guard "on duty" with proper OC certification...but not off duty for personal self defense in California which makes ZERO sense. I still load Duke pepper balls in mixture with kinetic rounds on my bryna LE despite the legality I feel more protected with pepper balls cause they give me distance between me and the threat then a can of pepper spray. Pepper spray isn't they answer to every situation. At the very least in CA you should be allowed to use pepper balls for personal self defense if you have a OC certification.
Would be interesting to see both ammos hitting a massive wooden bord to see which one enters deeper.A 1"/2.5cm board no less lethal gun will shoot through, but with the depth of the prints you can really see which ammo is the best destroyer.I got some surprises by that method I didnt expect. For example a 2g nylonball cal.50 enters deeper than a cal.68 3.6g or 4.7 g nylonball, while the cal.50 was shot with less power.Dont have a crono for the exact numbers, but it was surprising to see this as a result.I found that as a good way to test different types of ammo.A melon or coconut is destroyed or not,but at the wood you can measure and compare.
I love hp 68s they jam every once in a while but I found 9 inch ebay barrell with just the left detent works with no jams Danny's detents and I take scissors and barley trim one of them try it it works
How do you get a VKS? Their site asks if you are LEO or CO or Private Security etc.....could i just say private security or should I have my father in law order it since he is a LEO in Miami? TY man, and thanks for the content.
You talking about the m17 really sold me on getting a vks instead! I was also looking at the mission 4 before this video, but it seems the vks out performs everything rn for less lethal
The VKS is by far the best marker ive ever laid hands on. Its not only lighter than the M17 but is also more ergonomic. Sure its expensive and is more of a premium marker, but the components are of high quality and uses more standardised AR parts than the M17. Thanks again henry for hooking me up with mine.
The $350 M17 is great for it's class and price point. $1000 is overkill for a paintball gun that is only good for about 50 yards. Might as well get a real AR-10/15 and use rubber bullets.
Best is subjective. My experience says it's the VKS. I haven't used the 468, but I've heard good things. I say VKS because if built and tuned properly, it can consistently and reliably deliver 60-100+ joules. If you have different needs then the 468 could be the best to you. I'd love to hear more about the platform.
@The Less-Lethal PSI Defence Channel the 468 does that and can go up to 400 plus joules if you play with the springs and modify it. My only problem with the 468 is the selector switch.
Kudo's to your build and thanks for the video, especially turning us on to the 88g co2 adapter. I had no idea this even existed, learn something new all the time. I'm getting one right now. Would I be correct that the Umarex dual co2 adapter would also function within this co2 on / off adapter? Is that black connector between your 2x co2 tube and the co2 on / off adapter necessary to connect into the co2 on / off? If I may also ask, my VKS with a higher serial number doesn't have the same selector switch labels (S, F & D) as yours. Interestingly, mine has 2 "bullet" like icons, with a "X" inside the bullet icon for safe and just the bullet icon for fire, with no "D" like yours. But instead it has some sort of blackened or filled in rectangle where your "D" is. I wonder if your other VKS has the same selector labels as mine and would be interested in learning if any other interested LL community members have the same, and not mind too much chiming in if they may know why this is? I apologize for all my questions, after all you already do for the LL community and here this joker is pinging more of your time. Thanks again!
No sweat man. Happy to help. The adapter is used for full sized asa type threads. So I could use my 2x12g adapter. 88g, 90g and that Umarex 2x12g will screw right in! I also have a "newer" VKS without the 3 safety settings. That's really the only difference. You set it to "D" and the safety switch can be removed.
Any 68 cal ammo. I wouldn't recommend shooting paintballs in a less lethal. The risk of chop inside the launcher is high and you'd have a serious mess on your hands
The vks was actually designed for CO2. No problem there, you just lose over 15 joules. The manufacturer recommends you don't run CO2 in the m17 so use at your own risk. A lot of people use them and Sean Kempter as a regulator delete that is supposed to negate that. I think his channel is called Less lethal for dummies
I got a Tippmann Stormer Elite as a toss-in freebie on a deal I made. Is that worthwhile setting up for home defense? It seems like a nice rifle, but I have modified Umarex HDB 68 shotgun-style marker (shooting rubber/steel rounds at 30 Joules), and hopped-up HDP 50, HDR 50, and now the HDP 50 Compact. Time to expand my L-T-L armory. But I really like the way your gun is looking. Can I get that kind of performance on the Tippmann, or should I invest in the VKS? If I go the VKS route that would mean the Tippmann going to waste, which would be a shame. Thanks Henry and others for any help and advice you can give. P.S. I'm really impressed with the Tippmann build quality. I slapped on a flash/strobe light, reticle and laser sights, and a front grip, it sure looks cool, have to admit. And it is well-built in every respect.
The only way to currently get the power and reliability of a VKS is to buy the vks. The Stormer will be lucky to get 20-22 joules. It would be good for pepperballs, not home defense though...
@@psi.defence.channel Thanks. It was a freebie so I'll just list it on eBay. I'm assuming someone would want it. From your excellent channel and advice I invested in the Grimburg VKS (all black).
