First, she's the babysitter, and later, she is the mother (and mother/grandmother again). Laurie scrambles to save herself, but she is also fighting for others' safety. Some of the other girls are concerned about others, but Laurie is a true mother figure: she preserves life, while Michael steals it away. Cool list! :)
For me Erin Will always be best final girl she's literally everything you could ever want in a final girl She is the perfect evolution of final girls every final girl that came before her was a build-up to what would eventually become erin I'm sorry but none of the other final girls can hold a candle to her put any other of these final girls against Erin she would kill every single one of them. Erin was such a great character I took a lot of inspiration from her while writing a character for this script to a horror anime that I've been working on for years.

I also gotta admit, and I may catch some heat for this, but, though "Evil Dead 1 and 2" were absolute classics. I'm just going to come out and say that the remake blew them away! I mean they weren't fucking around when they remade this one. This movie was an absolute Gorefest, and the were remaking this movie with every intention to scare the fuck out of ppl. Also to pay excellent homage to the original movie. I think Sam Rami was also one of the producers. Either way, I am sure he was satisfied with that remake. There have been some shit remakes at that time, including now, that one gets a huge pass! Probably if not the best horror remake, reboot, or retelling of an original horror, it's gotta be in the top 3,if not the best so far. #WHATAMOVIE
H20 Laurie was the best interpretation so far in my opinion. Tough yet damaged, but not so damaged that she's incapable of having any relationships with family and friends. That was just a little boring from the 2018 incarnation, a little too cruel. H20 was the right mix. Shame Resurrection happened.

Random fun fact about me: since being about 13 years old, whenever I am having a nightmare where I’m being attacked, no matter the capabilities of my attacker in my dream, I have always been able to lucid dream my way out of it. I think the reason Helen isn't on any other lists is because for some reason they don't consider her a Final Girl which makes no sense in my opinion. The sequels should have included her in some way
Helen doesn't live in the end of candyman so she technically isnt a final girl. A final girl is normally the last girl to confront the killer and the one left to be able to tell the story. Helen was well on her way to being one until she ended up sacrificing herself to save the baby lol. But I'm assuming reviewers dont consider her one because she dies.

Laurie Strode deserved a higher ranking. Before Ginny (Friday the 13th), before Nancy (Nightmare on Elm street), before all of them, there was Laurie Strode. She laid a foundation in the Final Girl trope that made modern Final Girls like Sidney Prescott possible. Laurie is iconic, how many Final Girls can boast having "multiple timelines" for their character? Your pick for #1? -_- while Sarah Connor (as played by Linda Hamilton) is iconic, she is NOT a "Final Girl", the "Final Girl" is a trope tied to horror/slasher films. Terminator is NOT a horror film. You including her took a spot/higher ranking from more deserving characters such as Laurie Strode. And what about Sally? (Texas chainsaw massacre -1975 version), she was a very early example of a Final Girl. Even though she did not fight back against Leatherface or her tormentors, she survived her terrifying, life threatening ordeal through sheer endurance, & being able to flee for her life when she had the chance.

The ones I know about, totally agree. The ones I don't (you're next in particular) are very interesting. Lauri Strode: I agree, she has been reinterpretated too many times (even by Jamie) to be number 1. Nancy: I always rater her above Lauri, and I LOVED "Heather" in The New Nightmare. Ellen Ripley: if it was just movies 1 and 2 that existed, she would be number 1 easy. Cindy: YES! Sarah Connor: I was surprised to see you included her here. I would have put Ripley over Sarah due to the fact that I always associate the Final Girl with the horror genre, and never looked at Terminator through that lens. That being said, Sarah Connor is my favourite female Action character of all time, even GOT girl was not bad, I'm glad she got it!!
I know these are pretty unknown movies, but I think Justine from Kristy, and Amber from Green Room (my two favorite movies) are amazing final girls, that deserve recognition. Justine is an incredibly clever college chick, and the way that she takes action, after being the victim for so long, it's just so satisfying. Although Amber has an attitude throughout the entire movie (which I adore), I loved how she (and Pat) develop and eventually learn take advantage.

Sidney has gotta be my favorite final girl because she doesn't take any shit from Ghostface throughout the Scream films. I live how her character develops throughout the movies. Wonder how she's gonna be in the fifth one.

Random fun fact about me: since being about 13 years old, whenever I am having a nightmare where I’m being attacked, no matter the capabilities of my attacker in my dream, I have always been able to lucid dream my way out of it. Usually by super jumping/flying.

Sidney, Mia, and Erin are my holy trinity. Nica from the later Child’s Play movies is good too (despite Cult sucking.) I love Helen too, there’s something so elegant about her.
It’s in between Sidney and Nancy but I like Nancy cause she had to deal with a supernatural demon dream master Sidney just had a guy in a mask who supposedly had sum to do with the death of her mom
Nancy from nightmare on elm street is definitely my favorite final girl. In the beginning, she was terrified and vulnerable but i love how she rises up and becomes a tough survivor. A pure heroine

I think the reason Helen isn't on any other lists is because for some reason they don't consider her a Final Girl which makes no sense in my opinion. The sequels should have included her in some way
Helen doesn't live in the end of candyman so she technically isnt a final girl. A final girl is normally the last girl to confront the killer and the one left to be able to tell the story. Helen was well on her way to being one until she ended up sacrificing herself to save the baby lol. But I'm assuming reviewers dont consider her one because she dies.
Personally, I don't consider the Terminator films horror so I am surprised. Your whole list was horror movies than you throw in an action film for number one. 🙄 I not trying to be rude but I wouldn’t have put her on my list.

Laurie Strode deserved a higher ranking. Before Ginny (Friday the 13th), before Nancy (Nightmare on Elm street), before all of them, there was Laurie Strode. She laid a foundation in the Final Girl trope that made modern Final Girls like Sidney Prescott possible. Laurie is iconic, how many Final Girls can boast having "multiple timelines" for their character? Your pick for #1? -_- while Sarah Connor (as played by Linda Hamilton) is iconic, she is NOT a "Final Girl", the "Final Girl" is a trope tied to horror/slasher films. Terminator is NOT a horror film. You including her took a spot/higher ranking from more deserving characters such as Laurie Strode. And what about Sally? (Texas chainsaw massacre -1975 version), she was a very early example of a Final Girl. Even though she did not fight back against Leatherface or her tormentors, she survived her terrifying, life threatening ordeal through sheer endurance, & being able to flee for her life when she had the chance.

Lauri Strode: I agree, she has been reinterpretated too many times (even by Jamie) to be number 1.
Nancy: I always rater her above Lauri, and I LOVED "Heather" in The New Nightmare.

I would have put Ripley over Sarah due to the fact that I always associate the Final Girl with the horror genre, and never looked at Terminator through that lens. I know these are pretty unknown movies, but I think Justine from Kristy, and Amber from Green Room (my two favorite movies) are amazing final girls, that deserve recognition.
Justine is an incredibly clever college chick, and the way that she takes action, after being the victim for so long, it's just so satisfying.
Although Amber has an attitude throughout the entire movie (which I adore), I loved how she (and Pat) develop and eventually learn take advantage.
