    Nice bat rep, as usual. You bring up an interesting point about large dice pools. Is this the way the game is headed? Does this push rebels out of the game? Seems like a bit of an arms race bubble.

    • @crit2block
      @crit2block  6 месяцев назад

      It's an interesting question. This video was filmed prior to Adepitcon and the reveals we've had since. Large dice pools are and have forever been good and that won't change. But if that is better than some of these more specific teched units time will tell.

    • @ocalicreek

      @@crit2block Used to be that to get such large pools you'd have to fire support and use another unit in that round. Now one unit (times 4 on the table!) can dump that many dice onto... let's call them 'legacy' unit of storm troopers, B-1s or even worse, rebel troopers and just wipe them away and still have another activation left. Not sure Rebel vets or Shores could even compare. No way to accumulate enough dodges every turn for those big drops. So who's going to bring anything from the core sets anymore? Large dice pools are a "good thing" for the person throwing that many dice...for the rest of us, can strategy compensate? I'm not sure.

      It depends on the game and board. A more open board is detrimental to units that are only range 2. They start with such large pools because not everyone is expected to make it in. But the black sun swarm doesn't suffer as much from that, and is doing quite well. Time will tell if that trend continues

    Three surges on red attack dice by saber throwing Vader hurt my soul.

    • @crit2block
      @crit2block  6 месяцев назад

      It was heartbreaking. I think Vader could have withstood a reduced Black Sun attack.

    Swoop bikes have Overrun 1 so they can only overrun once per activation.

    • @crit2block
      @crit2block  6 месяцев назад

      Each swoop bike has overrun 1 as long as a player has both models, the swoop bikes can make multiple overruns.

      Apologies, my bad. Good report❤

      @@crit2block Had to go reread the Overrun rule again...not sure this is the case. Yes, to multiple overruns but not adding units to increase the number. "The overrun weapon is only added to the attack pool once, even if there are multiple miniatures in the unit." also, "If a unit can perform multiple overrun attacks during its
      activation, it must perform a separate move through an enemy unit for each overrun attack."
      Lastly, I'm not sure how the swoops "overran" Seventh Sister when they didn't actually fly over her, causing any base overlap. The whole "shuffle forward twice" thing seems to be wrong.

    • @ocalicreek
      @ocalicreek 6 месяцев назад +1

      Okay...just checked the "new" overrun rule...how stupid. How does a partial move without even coming near the model you're supposed to be "OVER-running" count? No. This is broken.

      Glad you were able to find the ruling. It was also a bit of a surprise to Richard this game when he and Eric were discussing the change before the game. It's a powerful rule to be sure.

    Hey guys thanks for the episode.
    I was very confused by this overrun attack against the sister at minute 34:24. I found the forum thread, though.
    But in my opinion is this overrun rule broken. This makes no sense at all.

    • @crit2block
      @crit2block  6 месяцев назад +1

      Overrun has certainly become a very powerful rule for swoop bikes. As a certain legion tournament shows us recently...

    • @jacenmiller5432

      I believe you can't actually do that. Here's a post from AMG's forums regarding it.
      "That is to say that the below scenario can allow for a valid overrun attack if the swoop moves forward say 1cm?
      No. If the Swoop Biker moved far enough to overlap Maul during the move, it would be eligible to perform an overrun attack. However, if it moves "1 cm" it has not at any point overlapped Maul during the move, and may not perform an overrun attack.
      Hope this helps, Seth"
      It seems like AMG backtracked on this ruling, because originally it was allowed to do a partial move that didn't reach the target to perform an overrun. Now, you have to still perform a move that "could" have overlapped a target even if you don't actually base them, but still need to end your move in a way that reaches the target. It's incredibly confusing, and I wish they would explain it a little bit better.

      @@jacenmiller5432 After reading this ruling, we missed this update. You are correct the swoop has to complete the move over the miniature to perform the overrun attack.

      @@crit2block "Update" is such a strong term for a clarification on the forums lol. It was easy to miss, but you still posted a solid video where you thought it was the correct ruling. Thanks for your hard work!
