@@cluelessboi1459 vanilla playthrough. Using guided steering I can drop it down to a meter. Wasn't a big deal, most of it got covered and just cheated in the gaps, took long enough😂
As long as the forward path is aligned between the two wheels of the planter, the entire field can be planted completely seamlessly. Although it takes time, it is definitely worth it.
The special baler is not worth it, it might be cheap compared to using the forage harvester but with every single bale that is made, it’ll shut itself off and raise up, meaning every single bale you make you have to wait for it to spit a bale out lower it turn it on. I did a 9acre field and made 280 bales was not worth 4hrs of time. You will save so many hours going for the forage harvester instead. If you have to take out a loan or lease the harvester I get it’s a bit of money but you’ll make it back within one harvest of poplars on a field that’s not super small
Its really slow and turns itself off every time you drop a bale. Feel free to try it but I would lease it. I did one small field once and I wouldn't recommend it as a long term solution.
@@phforNZ correct, if it’s an acre or 2 go for the baler but if you’re wanting max profits go big and just lease the forage harvester a few times on a big field, I got almost exactly a million from a 9 ish acre field and will never use that baler again. But it’s one of those crops you plant once it keeps growing back and if you’re in need of money quick, harvest that instead of the usual crops. I leave it to the side usually until I need to buy a bigger machine or harvester
@@empathyxiii cheers for that. Looking at it for my playthrough, no leasing so been trying to figure stuff out so I don't screw myself over. This video timing was good, just lacking in a few parts. 8:25 I've noticed my game does this as well. I have tested it with and without fertilizer in the direct seeder and both do the same however it only seems to lay down 100% feritlizer on 1 or 2 headlands regardless if I fertilized before seeding.
Ai will do the harvesting with a trailer attached. I do it with corn and silage. You have to cut in the field. I usually cut the first 2 runs around the edge. The ai just wants to go straight but it works. Ai harvested 1.7 mil chaff for me lmao. I cut it using the gps.
Thanks for another solid video Fc. We play on a dedicated server with required plowing turned off, weeds on, and stones on. After planting poplar, we get medium and large stones in the fields which cannot be removed with a stone picker. Is this a bug? The small stones can be rolled but the medium and large seem to have found a forever home. There also seems to be a bug where the field says it needs rolling but cannot be rolled. The roller will only remove the small stones. Let me know if you’ve heard of or experienced any of these issues with poplar. Thank you
Hi. I noticed that the SL 80-20 belt lets you select the degrees but then doesn't let you hire the worker to make sure the belt goes from right to left and from left to right. Am I missing something or is this another Giant bug?
Hail and/or tornado damage. Disable disaster destruction to prevent it. You’ll need to plow the field to remove them. Basically in-game griefing lol, really annoying
Did you completely forget about the biobaler? It has a push bar for the tractor and the baler can either be towed straight behind or offset to the side. Come on man this isn’t rocket surgery. I should really start a RUclips channel
Hey farmer cop, why didn’t you roll? I did all of the field prep. After planting, i needed to roll. But rolling didn’t fix the needs rolling state. Am i doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
@@phforNZ it’s 12-13 months. It only grows during “planting” season it seems. I’m only into year 2 and have harvested once so I’m still figuring it out. In 22 I did poplar but it was a mod map with custom crop calendar designed to replicate Florida and growing season was longer and I think I harvested poplar every 9 or 10 months?
I don’t understand how people who make a living playing farmsim can’t get that you adjust the width on the planter and turn the worker loose to go plant.
Just FYI the AI worker can plant poplar with no gaps if you set the working width to 1.2m!
I planted 2,5ha of poplars today and couldn't get it below 1.4m for the AI🤔
@ That’s odd because I got it down to 1.2m were you using any mods?

It still leaves some gaps you can fill if you really want to. It gives you about 15- 20% more in my experience but its not really worth the time.

You can use the harvester attachment and use a tractor to harvest with the header

Are there any productions that use woodchips rather than selling the chips straight out?
Is it more valuable to plant poplar or a field of actual trees to put through a chipper?
Best Guide Videos hands down so clear concise and to the point. Thank you
Other than forgetting about 50% of the harvesting tools available
The tree planter acts like a plow so you can skip plowing and picking stones. It will bring stones up as you plant.

Make sure you’re rolling immediately after planting and before any plants pop up otherwise it won’t work

It's a bug, same in FS22, only crops you can't do anything about the rolling.
