Just want to say a huge thank you, 5 years later your video really helped me get my Precision Colors P-400 refillables re-primed. That company doesn't have any videos on this, and their website was vague. Much appreciated!
Glad it was useful although I definitely need to update the information and upload a clearer version that doesn't involve me contradicting myself with tap water after saying not to! :)
You are my hero. I was about to toss my Epson printer. Without anything to lose, I followed your method (to prime the cartridge) and it worked perfectly! Thanks!
I have an epson wk3720 and it won't recognize the cartridges. With that being said there was a small metal thing that came out of the ink cartridge area when I took out the epson black, cyan, magenta cartridges. Now I can't get my printer to accept either type of cartridge....the refillable or the Epson. Any suggestions? I am thinking because the little pieces came out that the printer is finished. Thank you for your time.
Sorry for the delayed reply Lacey... It sounds like the CSIC board has broken or lost some of the contact wires needed for the printer to connect to the cartridge chips. As a result it's throwing the "not recognised" error. Not an easy fix unfortunately.. Sorry for the bad news.
The newer cartridges designs in many of the more expensive XP series use a completely different cartridge and outlet design that isn't compatible with this approach. You might want to check out InkOwl as you're in Canada and they're likely to have the info you need.
