Vintage aircraft is what the last of the fossil fuel should be saved for. The fact that aircraft fly so well is human ability evidence, even the ugly planes.
2:45 I actually know one of the Crew members onboard one of the Canadian Lancasters. He said the people in the U.K. were so grateful and kind to them, it was unbelievable.
@@chriscalderin6677 doubt it, it was a massive money maker for the company and an Icon of Ukraine. Those in charge of the Antonov transport company were grossly negligent in getting it out of harms way maybe even complicit with Russia to destroy it.
When I was stationed at Barksdale AFB in the late 1970’s I used to love it when the Brits would come for the International Bombing Competition with the Vulcans. That beast could turn with the best. Huge bomber could maneuver like an F-16. Sad there aren’t any flying anymore.
i@@susantyler4481Come to Southern Ontario, go to the Air Museum at the Hamilton Airport. I believe you can walk right up to it. They offer flights for the public. It's not what I call cheap. Or even expensive. It's more than that.
A wonderful compilation of airshow coverage from various UK air bases and the Antonov AN-225 😢 departure, one of its last flights before the war. Thank you for sharing the footage. 😊
@ Anytime. I’d also like to say that during the last week before I had to leave with my family, I went to the same airport, sadly Myria wasn’t there, but there was an AN-124 just resting out on its own loading area waiting to head home.
I said it before. There was another one that was unfinished in a hanger collecting dust. And when the other one was shot down 3 years ago, they were going to rebuild/finish the one in the hanger.
@chriscalderin6677 it appears you didnt see the video :) It was shot down. Destroyed beyond repair. But, like I said, they had a second unfinished one in storage and finished that one.
Some outstanding footage there. I'm glad it appeared on the list of vids. The Lancasters were particularly good with the multiple Merlins roaring away. A few years ago a Sptifire did several flypasts over East Grinstead at quite low altitude. The sound was amazing and it bounced off the walls of the shops so you got even more glorious tones. Liked and subbed. 😀
The Vulcan's huge delta wing whooshing low over head was a great buzz and top memories from that place. Two Lancaster was a real rare treat so yeah a photo finish between em here - pleased to know you enjoyed watching along as always
@@bobsurgranny sadly I never got to see a Vulcan fly in person but the howl is incredible - nothing else like it. I've seen a Lancaster fly twice. It's just pure Britain lol the sound of victory. It makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
Why would they? It was built for a purpose. To ferry the Soviet space shuttle Buran about. When the programme was cancelled they had a big transport no one wanted. They found work for it. If it was bought from new it wouldn’t make money
They already had a second one built that they never finished due to lack of funding. But I know their is a flight simulation project that was collecting funds for the rebuild. Only time will tell if she'll ever fly again. She definitely offers a unique heavy lift capability but with so many 224s still flying (luckily they got them out before things kicked off but thr 225 was under heavy maintenance and couldn't be repaired in time) she may not be needed especially when you look at the costs associated with building her and upgrading her up to current cockpit and engine technologies. IF they rebuild her and that's a big IF, the Ukranians may need western help getting her updated.
That Vulcan Bomber....While it looks really cool and with all that wing surface area, I'm sure it can carry a huge payload...It kind of looks easy to shoot down. It flies super slow and it's LOUD. I'm sure I'm missing something here though. What do you think?

As alway, utmost respect to the folks who worked so hard to keep these beauties flying! Vulcan anything, and I’m in!
Its amazing how the vulcan can do a wingover at that speed and stay in the air !

Awesome aircraft to see in person, I was lucky enough to have that once! It’s a shame she was lost 😢
Indeed. All those wheels make me laugh
I absolutely love the Canberra and Hunter. I see the Lancaster every few days, so I'm lucky for that.
I would love to see a Lancaster 1 time!

Fab video, my favourite seeing the 2 Lancaster together and the AN 225. Although loved it all 👍😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ah thanks. The two lancasters together sure was a rare treat to take in
