I am curious as to why you use the protractor in this instance vs the Rotate tool. What is the difference and under which circumstances would you use either?

Thanks for this tutorial very help full, but in the windows 12:16 frame when I hit the ctrl button it fill the hollow face, but as soon as i release the left click it back to hollow, I extrude the inside face out and it has the same result but with more extra edges around.

Hi! I'm learning how to use sketchup using your videos, they've been super helpful, thank you so much! Quick question, I was following this tutorial, but when it came time to erase the door, nothing happened, so I used push pull to push it back but my house isn't hollow like yours, so I was just creating a tunnel inside my house pushing back the door/rectangle... how did you make yours hollow? thank you in advance!

Take note that @8:30 after he draws the two vertical lines, he erases both the horizontal line of the "frame" and the line below it. The line below is actually the edge of the bottom surface. Once it is removed your result should be the same. When he does the push/pull it is only the frame that gets "thicker" his walls still have no thickness. Hope this helps!

When I make the door frame a component it creates a components in the components window but not in the outliner and also I do not get a group/component box around the door frame when I single click on it like you would if you triple click and make component. The geometry is still apart of the overall house.

Hello, quick question I'm an engineer student who is currently making a 3d model of a 4 story building for a project and was wanted your insight on what to get between SketchUp Studio SU Podium V2.6 w/Podium Browser and Dibac Architectural Plug-ins or go with the vray 6. Or will I be okay with just the SU Podium V2.6 w/Podium Browser which is another option and the cheaper one to ?
