As a 10 year old girl in 1978, I fell in love with Demis R voice,my parents bought me his album for my 10th birthday 🤗 Forever and ever is a huge favourite song, I still play now in 2024, 🩵 For all the impressionists who took the Mickey out of him,Demis laughed it off, and tho we chuckled along, he was for those that loved him,his voice, his beautiful songs, stood by him, for as I child, even into adulthood, friends would laugh because I loved him and his songs, but I didn't care, maybe I'm an old soul, I feel music with my heart, and a piece of it broke 💔 the day he past away 😢 Rest easy Demis Rousos,💜🕊️🪽💜you will forever and ever be a part of my life, introducing me to your beautiful songs that I still listen to and will till my last breath.🩵🪽🩵🕊️xxxx
I will remember Demis, from my childhood. Some people may not be aware that he had already established himself in the late 60's with the prog group 'Aphrodite's Child'! They were actually pretty good! That aside great content as ever, from you Alan.😊
Blimmey Alan another great video 👍 DEMIS ROUSSOS ,,,🙏🕯️RIP was certainly a gentleman to be respected 🙏 that was Bert Newton doing impersonation a true Australian icon Cheers Stephen 🍀🍀✌️👍
Hello, Daniel are hit the nail on the head. He had an exceptional voice and I was surprised when I heard his early rock music. It was very good. You can never mistaken. Thank you Alan
I saw Paul McCartney last week here in Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺 and he said show your hand if you’re from Brisbane so I put up my hand cos I live here but then he said how many of you are from the UK 🇬🇧 and I put my hand up again. There were 60,000 people there and the majority were not from Australia 🇦🇺 and most were from the UK 🇬🇧.
Hi Sandra, isn't that amazing? It just shows you the number of people that travel to see an artist. I think Paul is probably known in the vast majority countries cuz they conquered America in the 60s but I know exactly what you mean... I wonderful to seem in concert. I'm envious I went to his original home last year. If you want to take a look at the video it's on the channel.... Regards, Alan
My late mother loved Demis Roussos. She used to melt when she would hear Forever and Ever on the radio or him singing it on TV. I have to say, I played it just now on RUclips and I had to stop because it was making me teary-eyed thinking about my mother. I think one of the reasons why she liked him was because my mother was an overweight lady back in the 70s and she was a bit conscious of it so seeing Demis, who was also overweight being such a successful star made her feel better about it and I can understand that. She always liked any stars who were a bit overweight for that same reason but she really had a crush on Demis. Funny enough, when he died in 2015 it was long after my mother had gone and she was much older but Demis was roughly the same age as her when he passed away.
Demis e uno dei cantanti più bravo del mondo ma in Italia non lo hanno capito e vero lui ha fatto una vita molto molto strano anche quanto aveva una certa età grazie per la clip con. Il ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It was a good businessman Rowain with a very distinctive voice, I think if you asked to most people in England have a Greek singer they would say him. Thank you. Look after the hat
Thankyou Alan for this video on demis rouses such a lovely man with a high pitched voice big in the 70s beautiful grave site so stunning and sophisticated absolutely beautiful how were so many cats thanks Alan ❤️😊👍🏻
Fantastic video I remember Demis singing when I was a kid I’m actually blown away by how beautiful this part of the cemetery is mostly all white marble and all famous people together’ turkey 🇹🇷 also has marble but it’s very cheap there thank you for sharing this video RIP Demis
Dear old Bert Newton, only passed away himself 2 years ago. I came to Oz in 1987 so wasn't familiar with this sketch, Demis Roussos was a good sport. Forever and Ever was played everywhere when we were in Spain in 1976. I did chuckle about My Friend the Wind, good old British humour. Alan, I didn't really know much about Demis except for his long hair and kaftans so thank you for the interesting info and what a magnificent grave he has! I'm afraid here in Adelaide we topped your 28 deg, it was 40 here yesterday...phew 🥵 Enjoy your holiday 😎☀
Hi Terry We had one day in 2002 in the UK when we hit 40° and literally people just couldn't handle but it it something I guess you get more used to if you live there regularly in Australia etc. Demi's had a good sense of humor I'm sure with enjoy a little bit of fun he was a smarty fellow. Thanks Alan. You certainly travelled to get to this one. I didn’t know he had sold so many records. I’ve no idea what happened to Nana Maskouri do you? He was a nice man and it was good to see his final resting place. Tfs

Hello Daniel, super kind of you. I've got quite a few plants so don't worry and I look forward to seeing you in the future. It's pretty nice of you Alan
@MotorHomeBeepBeep I have met Geoff Capes, and there is a resemblance, though I am slightly shorter and, coincidentally, like him, I am also a former Police Officer. As for Demis Rousos, I am slightly taller, and when the lady who approached me for an autograph, I was about four or five stones lighter than him, so I don't know whether to feel flattered or slightly insulted. As for the singing voice, quite the opposite, I am a bass baritone, and no way could I reach his high notes without a very drastic operation, which even at 71 I am not planning to undergo.
@@nickgov66 Thank you very much nick. That made me laugh. I know what you mean people could be insulted because he was known for his heavyweight but he did lose a great deal later in his life.
