I think the Emperor has been the one behind the scenes this whole time. The puppet master. JJ said that the crew is gonna face the "higher evil" and it's gotta be Palpatine. Lucas has always said that Star Wars is about Anakin, and entirely Anakin. So I think we are gonna learn that Palpatine is somehow still alive or is some threat as a force ghost. Then we are gonna see Anakin confront Kylo as a force ghost and is gonna help him and Rey destroy Palpatine once and for all.
The only people I personally know who don't like Solo, are the ones who haven't watched it. The ones that eventually watched it, thought it was pretty good. Not the best SW movie, but certainly not the worst.
It was the only Star Wars film I missed in theaters, but only because I didn't have a car and couldn't find anyone who wanted to see it with me. But yeah, once I finally watched it I enjoyed it. It was better than what everyone (people who hadn't even seen it) was leading me to believe.
I believe a lot of the hate comes from the time gap between the movies. I grew up reading all the books and lore that had to do with Star Wars and loved what they did with the characters like Jacen and Jaina Solo. This new story just caught me off guard and was not what I expected for the direction of the stories. However, I do enjoy the new movies and these new ideas. So I guess a lot of people wanted the directors to followed the established stories and are upset that Disney deviated from that.

I’m a lifelong old school Star Wars fan and I loved last jedi. What did people expect from Luke? The force awakens established him in self imposed exile. Was he suppose to be some happy superhero? Star Wars has always been about Luke being tempted by the dark side and over coming it. Which is what happened with him and Ben. I think it was great

I might be one of the few who have seen the first six movies and love the sequels. I don't really go into watching movies with high expectations because they get ruined. I just go to enjoy them and that's why I never had any problems with any of the Star Wars movies. I loved them all. I'm also really excited to go see this one.
I agree with you guys. I’m a life long Star Wars fan and I loved The Last Jedi. A Jedi is basically a space wizard and when Luke Force projected himself to fight Kylo at the end that was one of the greatest uses of the force ever in my opinion. It was awesome. I also liked Solo so I recommend it. It’s a great origin story. I think the guy who played Han did a great job catching his mannerisms and personality.
I support dressing up for the movies! My son is 12 and he wore Chewbacca pj's, that Chewie mask that makes noise, and fuzzy brown slippers. He wore that outfit for Episide VIII and Solo premieres. Speaking of Solo you guys should definitely see it! My son loved it. I liked Rogue One better, but I still enjoyed Solo and I don't think it deserved a lot of the negativity that it got.
Billie Dee looks so good in the teaser. Much healthier then he did last year at Star Wars Celebration. I'm excited to see how JJ wraps it up, I hope he explains the answers we need.

I’m a long time Star Wars fan, and I thought the last Jedi was easily the best Star Wars film. Best cinematography, unexpected change up to the plot, and fight scenes that didn’t look like dancing. Furthermore, they demonstrated the power and fallibility of Luke, without ever having him leave the planet he was on. Luke was so powerful, he could project an image of himself from light years away, just to give the galaxy the hero it needed. Yeah, the last Jedi was fucking awesome.
The scenes in Episode 9 with Carrie (Leia) will be unreleased footage from The Force Awakens. A CGI Leia was never going to happen and they were never going to recast that role. Carrie Fisher was special and it sucks that she is gone.
I was 5yrs old when i saw the first star wars movie but the last one left me disappointed but got a good feeling seeing this. Glad to see it end personally as there is so much more in the star wars universe that id like to see.
