The colors of the sunset, the gleaming steel strips of the rails, the colors of the signals, make this shot the most beautiful I've ever seen. Danach eine Verbindungsstrecke bis Villa Literno (Minute 27:00) und erst dort erreichen wir die Direttissima (DD). Die DD hat ihren Ursprung im Bahnhof Napoli Piazza Garibaldi (unterirdisch) und geht über Napoli Mergellina und Campi Flegrei bis Roma Termini. Bis Villa Literno wird sie heute nur noch von S-Bahnen benützt. Die DD Napoli-Roma ist die erste der 3 DD und wurde 1927 eröffnet. Sie ist bald 100 Jahre alt und war von Anfang an durchgehend elektrifiziert und frei von Niveau-Uebergänge. Sie ist für Geschwindigkeiten von 200km/h geeignet. In den meisten europäischen Länder fuhr man damals mit Dampflokomotiven!

Nice videos, but, if is possible try to ride trains during daytime because image quality lowers with low lighting. Try to purchase cams more night vision. Ride suggestion: Bologna Ancona Pescara. In the future should be interesting a comparison of thw same ride, two years later, to get imporvements/changes in performances, landscape. Thx fo all.

As this is still my hobby, I do not have a lot of time waiting for the perfect conditions. I would love to go back to Italy and get the Bologna/Ancona/Pescara line. Thank you for the suggestion.

Tra Aversa e San Marcellino - Frignano c'è un diramazione che porta a Caserta e viceversa. Serve per bypassare la stazione di Aversa e arrivare da Benevento o Caserta fino a Roma Termini via Formia. Di solito quella diramazione viene usata dai treni merci, Regionali Veloci Roma - Benevento/Caserta e da alcuni Intercity/Intercity Notte provenienti da Bari, Lecce e Taranto

Nice. But the amount of urban space wasted by the Roma Termini track approach is staggering. That is precious urban space wasted and cuts off the neighborhood. When will Trenitalia finally create a deck over all those approach tracks and develop many thousands of apartments, shops, and hotel rooms? See Grand Central Station and Midtown Manhattan. Trenitalia could make many tens of billions of euros on such development in all the major cities of Italy, especially Rome and Milan. Trenitalia should call New York -- KKR, Blackrock, etc. They have plenty of capital to invest in stuff like this.

It was IC 728, so no MDVC/MDVE coaches, only classic intercity ones

Beh, è normale che il segnale di protezione possa cambiare aspetto, naturalmente in senso meno restrittivo, dopo che si è oltrepassto il segnale di avviso, se nel frattempo si è liberata la sezione antistante.

Due to what is ironically called "rete snella" (lean network) here in Italy, i.e. the practice undertaken for some years by RFI, the railway infrastructure manager, to remove the third track in many small stations to save on maintenance costs for the switches.

Nice. But the amount of urban space wasted by the Roma Termini track approach is staggering. That is precious urban space wasted and cuts off the neighborhood. When will Trenitalia finally create a deck over all those approach tracks and develop many thousands of apartments, shops, and hotel rooms? See Grand Central Station and Midtown Manhattan. Trenitalia could make many tens of billions of euros on such development in all the major cities of Italy, especially Rome and Milan. Trenitalia should call New York -- KKR, Blackrock, etc. They have plenty of capital to invest in stuff like this.
