Been looking for a way to get better connection. Signal from my router to my computer is garbage and i cant move the router so im hoping i can increase connection. Any idea between floor and about 30ft woth walls as well
Is there any way you can add a 2nd router, or do you have any network cabling at all close to where your computer is located? That may be an option I've seen done when all else fails if you just can't get a signal to reach or if there is no way to fish another cable through a ceiling or into a wall closer to the computer.
@@FixMyBleep none without tearing stuff up and it's not my house. I ordered this to give a try. Should be here tomorrow. I'm really hoping it solves the issue I have. We already have two routers due to the amount of devices used on the network.
How far away from the router are you? Maybe as a test try the TP Link on another device and then test the speed to verify the TP Link is working correctly. You may also need to restart the wireless router if it's still showing 2 mbs because that's not right. Hope that helps!
Any idea how this compares to the AC1300 T3U Nano? The short version is better if you move your PC around because it won't get snapped off, but I'm thinking this version is bigger for a reason, probably better signal reception through floor/wall.
I've heard this has slightly better range, but I have not had the chance to test it against the other one. Typically the larger one means more antenna but that's not always the case.
Great video! I recently purchased this and am using it with my PC. My laptop can get a download speed of 120mbs, however, my PC with this adapter can only reach 2.5mbs. Do you think that a part of my PC could be bottlenecking the speed?
The manufacturer says this won't work with gaming consoles, but yet when I search reviews and what people have bought this are saying some say it does work so I can't give you a direct answer. Sorry. Look under: amzn.to/3zfjIja and then customer reviews, or do a search for consoles, and some people claim it's working.
I wouldn't recommend this product personally. I didn't care about speed, I just wanted a stable wifi connection, and it couldn't even provide that. It started off working decently but after a few weeks it started dropping and disconnecting from the PC randomly. When it works it works great, but when it's being inconsistent it's the most frustrating thing imaginable.
Thanks for the comment, good to know. I wonder if the newer model is any better? I've been using it consistently since purchased, but have had to restart the router a couple of times since I've installed it, not sure if it was the internet provider, or the device but that seemed to help with any stability issues I've seen.
I'm running this on a desktop (large tower) computer in an office where there isn't any internet port or cables. Some cases where a system has a bad wifi card built-in, this would be a life saver. No issues as of yet. Not sure if that's any help with your question or not.
Yes, this device is made for a PC that is too far away to be plugged into a network cable, or that doesn't have a network jack nearby. You just plug in this USB (Wireless Adapter) and it will connect to your wireless router. If you are currently plugged into a network connection, you shouldn't need this however.
That's a good point, we have a 1GB plan at the home, so this TP Link can max itself out without ever reaching the full limit of what we have available. Running a speed test with a LAN cable it doesn't quite work out to a full Gig anyway, and upload speed is good but not ever "as advertised" it seems. Thanks for the comment!
@FixMyBleep I have a terabyte plan but it's through a floor and I have a family of 7 with many consoles and TVs, everybody has either a phone or iPad as well, how much do you think I will get?
Verify that your router/modem is "broadcasting" both a 2.4 and a 5 G signal. This adapter will pull that in & use one or the other. Also the TPLink prefers a 3.0 port to feed it. You may also try updating to the latest drivers in the download center at tp-link.com/en/download-center. Hopefully this info helps. 🖥
Data transmission over wifi is half-duplex. Data are sent and receive in sequential, not simultaneously like wired ethernet. And also 867 Mbps is PHY rate, actual transfer speed is only about 50 percent (433 Mbps).
That's a really good question, but from what I can tell this is a WiFi device for wireless connectivity from your PC to your wireless router... or a WiFi connection outside your home. For Smart TV streaming you may want to look at FIRE stick devices that plug into the HDMI port on the back of your TV. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, I haven't tried this.
Hello, do you mean share the TP Link to other devices besides the computer that it's plugged into? This WiFi Adapter only allows for the one connection back to your router, and won't support Hot Spots. Hope that helps! and Thanks for the comment!
You will want to get the newer version of this adapter for Windows 11 support: amzn.to/3Eed5Qf (Supported systems: Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7/XP and Mac OS 10.15 or earlier) Thanks for the comment.
You will need a Windows 7 or newer box, you can run this on a desktop or laptop if you don't have a LAN connection nearby, and will need an open USB port to plug it into. Some really old computers may not be compatible.

I have the same exact one, why am I getting 2mbs download speed when on my other devices I am getting 70?

Yo bro does the usb can be used from a far distance like for the same distance as phone?
Depends on how far away your pc is from the router, also restart the router after installing this. Sorry for the late reply.
@@itzabo2051 Ya you don't want to get too far away from the wireless router in your home, maybe 30 feet max.
Will this work on my console

Is it compatible to work on a Samsung Google Chromebook/ChromeOS laptops?
Sorry but digging into the technical side of this adapter, it says it does not support Chrome OS. Great question!
Thank you very much for this answer!@@FixMyBleep
any problem or conflict with the wifi from the computer? the built in
I'm running this on a desktop (large tower) computer in an office where there isn't any internet port or cables. Some cases where a system has a bad wifi card built-in, this would be a life saver. No issues as of yet. Not sure if that's any help with your question or not.
my pc doesnt have a wifi card and is hardwired, will this still work?
Yes, this device is made for a PC that is too far away to be plugged into a network cable, or that doesn't have a network jack nearby. You just plug in this USB (Wireless Adapter) and it will connect to your wireless router.
If you are currently plugged into a network connection, you shouldn't need this however.
Is it support on old laptops
Yes this should work on even older systems. Thanks for the comment!
How many mbps do you have on your plan?

How did u solve this issue?
Does it work in full-duplex simultaneously?
That's a great question, looks like this adapter will not do a full-duplex from looking at the specs and configuration. Thanks for the comment!

@@ulerbulu4062 Thank you for the technical breakdown on this one! It's good to see some actual numbers.
How far is your router away from your pc?
The router is a good 25 to 30 feet away with several walls in between.
Thank you so much for your help, I bought it based on your recommendation and it works like a charm 👌👌
Install the driver and test it again, i had speed problems too. Driver solved it.
Good to hear! Thanks for the comment and info!
I tried installing the driver but the speed test results are the same. I think the one with antenna is a better option.
