How to Set Up SideTrak® Swivel Portable Monitor - Single or Triple Screen

Hi everyone, I'm going to walk you through how to attach your new SideTrak swivel portable monitor. SideTrak Swivel is available in two different display sizes: a 12.5 inch and a 14 inch. Installation and features will be the same for both.
First, you will need to check your laptop's compatibility. This monitor uses DisplayPort technology and doesn't require a download. So, to check your compatibility, you just need to check the ports on your laptop to determine which cords you'll need to use. Now, if your USB-C port has a letter D for DisplayPort, a thunderbolt symbol, or is a Mac laptop, then you'll be able to transmit both power and data with just one USB-C to USB-C cord.
If you don't have a USB-C port that can transmit both power and data, then you will need to use both the mini-HDMI cord and the USB cord. Now, the USB cord can be plugged into the A or C type port on your laptop and once you plug it in you'll be able to see the SideTrak screen light up. But, keep in mind that your laptop screen needs to be unlocked for your SideTrak screen to display.

You will be using the mounting guide that comes in the box and it should look like this. Before we start, you should know that we will be adhering a semi-permanent metal plate onto your laptop. Now, it can come off, however if you are not comfortable placing this on top of your laptop, we recommend using a laptop case.
You can attach your SideTrak to either the left or the right side of your laptop. We will walk you through the steps of how to attach it to either side. Let's start with attaching your SideTrak to the right side of your laptop. First, make sure your laptop is closed and that your laptop opening is facing you. Then, place the mounting guide on top of your laptop and align the right edge of the mounting guide with the right edge of your laptop.
You can attach your SideTrak so that it is centered on your laptop or you can move it a bit higher to where it is aligned to the top of your laptop. If you want your SideTrak to be centered, then you will align the right edge of the mounting guide to the right edge of your laptop. If you want to move it a bit higher, you will align the bottom of the mounting guide to the edge of the laptop that is nearest to you. To attach your SideTrak to the left of your laptop, it's a similar process. With the laptop closed and the laptop opening facing you place the mounting guide on top of your laptop and align the left edge of the mounting guide with the left edge of the laptop.
Next, peel the backing from the metal plate and place one metal plate in the open space. Make sure to align the SideTrak logo in the bottom right corner of the open space where the arrow points to. Apply light pressure for 10 seconds and then remove the mounting guide. Lastly, clip your monitor onto the metal plate of your laptop. It is easiest to clip it to your laptop when you unfold and swivel the mounting crane.
Wiggle the monitor's mounting frame and if it falls off then it is not fully attached. You will hear a loud click when it is properly placed. Once you have attached your SideTrak, simply open your laptop, swivel it around and plug it in.
