You can get a V8 power with this pentastar 3.6 litre, with either a Ripp or Magnuson supercharger. Compare $6800 for a supercharger compared with a V8 engine swap. I just wish one had an option at purchase to be able to upgrade to bolt on Mopar Dana 60 axles package with elockers and 5:38 gearing. That would be a game changer. What's the problem FCA?
I’m at 29k miles…in 13 months. Been great so far. Had the serpentine belt replaced due to squeaking but been very happy so far. As far as price I got $5000 of my Rubicon because I bought on the last day of the month and I got a manual. So my truck was $46000. Not bad. That’s Sport territory.
I agree with a lot of the points, and I’m 100% on that I’d trade mines In a heat beat for a 392 gladiator. But let me tell you my thoughts as of lately, based on price of 392 wrangler, and the gladiator is about $2k more than a wrangler in any of the identical trims, that would put the gladiator 392 close to $80k since the wrangler 392 is about $77-$79k. With that price, I’ve been debating going forward with doing it myself. Average rubicon gladiator $50k, add the swap $30-33k = roughly about $82-84k range. Which means you’re only paying a few grand more and you can have a 392 Gladiator instead of waiting and hoping jeep will release one, which is doubtful some people say, since rams are owned by same company and they don’t want the gladiator to compete with the ram, which some arguably says with the 392 it’s doing that, idk imo maybe not but whatever. Still, you can get one for relatively the same price as from jeep but with 1 main benefit, if you see it as a benefit, which I do, and that is you can have it be a 392 part time 4wd on demand instead of 4wd all the time, which jeep will probably make it like the wrangler which is an all time 4wd, which I don’t want. You can have a gladiator 392 with part time on demand 4wd, and additionally you could potentially wire in the lockers as you’d like once doing the swap, so instead of using lockers only in 4low), now you can run them whenever, which I like the option of doing sometimes using rear locker in 4hi but unable to do so right now on rubicon model.
I agree with the breakdown. You have to understand what the truck is built for not what you want to do with it. It would be like using a pistol for a 500m sniper shot and wondering/blaming the pistol for the missing.
excellent video...i've got a 2020 JTR..2.5" EVO lift..with all the Yeti steering components. Have you had any issue with the steer smarts frame track bar brace rubbing the driver side springs and cutting into the spring seat? I compress that driver side front spring and that brace scrapes bad. digs into the spring seat. also note: the JT Diesel is cool, but weighs 400lbs more, with no frame adjustments..so..has 400lbs less payload despite that 200lb torque increase. and yea, better mileage per gallon but bank holds 5 gallons less due to the DEF..oh, and it cost $4k more..so whtat's the point of the Diesel? anyone have a clue? love to hear why it's better
Exceptional rig Mike! Of course I'm biased I have the same color Gladiator. That's what's holding me back on continuing to build mine right now. If jeep comes out with a 392 Gladiator I'd definitely get one. But I'm not sure I would be willing to shell out what the dealers will ask for. Easily I can see them mark them up 10k-20k because they know people will buy them.
@@Mike.A.Hernandez cool thanks sir. Yeah I have a gladiator myself and take the family out camping 🏕 so I wanted to mount a dometic fridge in bed just didn’t know if dust and rain 🌧 would hurt it.
No I don't regret it. I actually had a section I cut out of this vid talking about it. Im thinking about doing a video addressing it. The Mojave is a really cool setup. I prefer the Rubicon because of the way I use it.
I have a 2021 2dr Rubicon but I just love the Gladiator. I just wonder how you wheel a vehicle that long...I’ve been in tight spots with my Jeep! I’m in AZ also bro...cheers. I subbed!
I’ve owned a full size truck for 25yrs but am seriously thinking on getting a Jeep next…. I like the truck bed but also like the look of the JL with 37’s…. I’m torn
Keep it man. I’m not sure Diesel is worth it given the $5k price premium and rising cost of diesel. It’ll take a lifetime of ownership to make up the difference. Same goes with a 392, sure the V8 is nice but at what cost? I think if you’re hankering for more HP and TQ I’d slap a Magnussen S/C on it and call it a day. The truck is dialed the way it is and you’d have to start all over if you got a diesel or 392.
The 2020 and 2021 Jeep Gladiators all models are developing leaking axle seals on primarily the rear drivers side. Jeep knows this and are replacing the axles under warrenty. There is a good chance that a recall is coming soon.
12:32 you’re damn right
💯

Great rig .. hopefully will start my gladiator buy/build in the fall!
Yes!
Great review and breakdown my man….Nice to know a fellow Arizonan! 🙏👊🇺🇸

Really enjoyed the Review. I have almost 24k on mine and like you said for its intended use. It’s my favorite truck I’ve had in a long time.
Couldn’t agree more!
Great real world review!
Thanks it was a blast!

Thanks! No issue with mine.
I didn’t like the diesel. Wanted to love it. Jumped in the gas one second and was sold instantly
Nice thorough breakdown Mike. Really appreciate your honesty about it. You know I’m a Tacoma guy but this is one sexy azz gladiator 🤙🏼
Thank you bro! I love your setup!

How does the fridge do in the bed with the dust etc?
So far no issues and it keeps the dust out.

Sweet Magpul shirt btw Braddah 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Would you consider a Mojave in manual transmission?
Yes I would, but I would use it a little differently than this one.
Do you regret not going or changing to the Diesel? If not what do you think about mojave vs rubi?
