Same ! Her clothing doesn't even look like she's from middle Eastern, even though she's supposed to. I used to believe she was from India, in some kind of weird modern Bollywood cloths🤦🏻♀️😅
I like Disney Princesses' original looks. My favorite Disney Princess is Mulan b/c she is not born royal or did not marry royalty. Instead, the Emperor of China acknowledges her heroic deeds by giving her a position In his office but Mulan refuses so instead the Emperor of China gives a medal to Mulan to give to her parents so they know their daughter's heroic deeds.
I loved MULAN, and still do. When I was younger, I loved Aurora, and still do, but Mulan and Tia have outshone her. The two characters are my favorite because they worked hard and showed young girls that A) a woman can fight just as well as a man, B) doesn’t matter what you look like, doesn’t matter what you wear as C) you have to work hard and fight for not only your rights but your equality. Mulan is Chinese, and I’m Japanese, but I loved that there was an Asian Disney princess, now we have more characters in the aapi community such as Raya or Moana (the newer ones)
As an Arab who knows her history, it always bugged me the way Jasmine is dressed. Mind you, I'm 16, but I know my history pretty well. In the movie, they gave a PRINCESS the clothes of a DANCER, which wasn't much of a respectable profession at the time. I watch historical shows that actually do a lot of research to get everything right from the cloth to the general social status. Because there were times when it was okay for women and men to be seen outside together and there were times when it was frowned upon. And in those shows, women dressed modestly never once did they wear blue, because blue wasn't a known dye at the time.
I still prefer the original, i just think that the original one is more..like jasmine, i think her new look is kinda more girlish for Jasmine’s personality
I was fine with Belle's historic make over until they put that white weird looking thing on her head. I lost interest for the rest of the video in that second. But I must be one of those who don't really pay attention to historical accuracies on anything, since i feel just fine with Disney's version and feel weird looking at this historically accurate versions of these characters.
Me when they start with bell:*inhale* don't use corsets to Define STAYS! And corsets weren't invented in the 17th century! She wouldn't have worn a corset! Edit: for Aurora's look, Split Front skirts weren't a thing until the Elizabethan Era! Sleeping Beauty takes place in 1301, Split Front Skirts became a thing in 1558, but since Sleeping Beauty takes place in Germany, Split Front skirts NEVER became a thing in Germany, and Aurora's hair IS accurate, that is how women styled their hair in 14th century Germany
These are not accurate lol, Belle's skirt needs to be wider at the hips, thanks to a pannier. She's supposed to be wearing stays, not corsets, very different things, overall it's very innaccurate and the silhouette is very wrong.
This is why they made live actions of most of these movies to show how the princesses would have really looked because they understood they weren't historically accurate
She would have been wearing nearly six or seven petticoats to archive the right volume for the silhouette, the crinoline wasn't a thing until the 1850's
First of all, THESE ARE DISNEY PRINCESSES THEY ARE MAGICAL AND DO NOT NEED TO BE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE. Also, most the the "accurate" princesses are still as inaccurate as the originals. Here is my critique: Belle - the skirt should be in the shape of a rectangle, not a weird semicircle thing the STAYS, not a corset, should ABSOLUTELY NOT BE WORN ON BARE SKIN and should be there not to make the waist smaller (the eyelet holes were hand sewn and pulling them tighter would damage them), but to push the bust up and support the upper body the choker should be a ruffle around the neck, not a weird Christmas present wrapping thing also yall forgot to correct the sleeves, the sleeves would be about elbow length with little ruffles and floofs and the end the hair should be more vertical with rolls and curls at the side and the face should be powdered white mulan - I am actually Chinese :) the sleeves should be that long the hem would not be that high the shoes would have probably been black i have never seen a necklace in an ancient Chinese painting, like ever the hair should be in a single bun jasmine - i do not know anything about this but i will say the corsets did not exist in the 16th and 17th century, and it would most certainly not be worn on bare skin ariel - why would you put a buckle in there, just why the waist would have been higher the curls would have been on the side of the head and much more curly AND THIS WOULD BE THE CORRECT TIME TO SAY THAT SHE WOULD WEAR A CORSET/STAYS UNDER HER GOWN aurora - again, not my area of expertise, but why did you put in the crown if she didn't know about her royaltiness yet? ALSO why is she wearing eyeliner? that was not a thing back then thank you for listening to me rant
How these disney princesses would have ACTUALLY looked: like none of this, cause they are actually all fake. So, with this being said they can create a disney princess or any character in their image because it's fake in the first place, lemme know when you find a real life mermaid lmao.
On this video, I love the new dress design or the perfect dress design for Aurora. That dress design is a perfect one, because flora and fauna argue about the colors for her dress. And because of that, that usually gives me a big headache, whenever I think about it. Even when I go to Disneyland or any of the Disney parks, Aurora would always tell me that flora and Merryweather still argue about her dress. It's so I suggested to her that I believe both colors should work. So their ideas of their argument wouldn't give me a headache as I told to Aurora, and that they won't give you a headache either about your dress. Which I told her right there as well. And so because of this video, I love the type of dress design for Aurora. Because I was really thinking of how it would look like as if it was both blue and pink. So looking at a brand new dress design like I saw from this video, with both blue and pink looks very perfect👍😉❤
Actually Disney went to undercover Princess Jasmine so they didn't do a princessy one. And I also perfer the original ones in MY opinion okay so don't hate reply. Also, why did they change the color of the gown of thr other princesess?
Can we please stop assuming that 18th century hair=giant white Marie Antoinette wig from Party City? Hairstyles changed dramatically throughout the 18th century. Big floofy styles were only popular for the last 20 years of the century. Super tall hair was only in for about a decade. Hair powder was heavily used in elaborate hairstyles, but it wasn't always white. Spices and pigments were often added to create everything from brown to pink hair powder. Seeing as the movie takes place in the mid-18th century and the Beast's entire staff has been cut off from the world for a decade, Belle should have been sporting rows of tight barrel rolls across the front and the back of her hair should have been put up in a fairly flat braided or twisted style. Mid-18th century hair was the exact opposite of big and floofy.
NOT EXACTLY DESTROYED BUT, REDESIGNED AND SOME PEOPLE HATE IT ( I DONT LIKE THOSE DESIGNS TOO ) I DO SAY THAT THE ORIGINAL IS MORE BETTER AND REDESIGNING THEM, IS A BAD IDEA..
honestly all of our princess look amazing just the way they are and their from childhood but in my opinion i'd rather to stick to what i'm used to but they also looked great in their new fits!! remember everyone is beautiful the way they are!
As an arab myself Jasmine’s clothes should NOT be tight or revealing and should be extremely modest especially since shes a princess, also there needs to be jewels on her veil
no cus since its october the movie had already come out right jasmines dress should've been based on the Aladdin movie cus the dress she wore there was very accurate but the things decided to change it up into an unpleasant color on her no offence the things.
@Dana Martineau you're just justifying how they're actually just making bedtime stories for white kids which leads to them not knowing anything about those cultures but those movies which eventually gives you stereotypes associated with those groups of people that everyone believe because they have no other source of info.
The corset for Belle’s is a little inaccurate. In the 18th century women wore a corset know as stays or pair of bodies, and they were not laced in tightly because back then corsets were not made with metal eyelets so if they were tightly laced the stays would rip. And also the bodice of the gown is inaccurate also she would not be wearing short sleeves, the sleeves would be around the elbows decorated with lace
Wait, Belle is not a wealthy girl.. she did become one when she "got married?" i forgot. Well when she live with the prince but she is really not from a wealthy family... shes my favorite :) to be honest i dont like belles new hair bruh (no hate)

Honestly as a middle eastern it always bothered me how revealing jasmine’s outfit was since princess didn’t dress like this before but rather dancers.
