Wasn't he enlisted at one time? I like the fact he drives an old school fox body mustang. If that's good for the Commandant of the Marine Corps, the old 1982 DeLorean of mine is good enough for me and everyone else.

I am watching this now almost a year since my Dad was stationed at 8th and I and gosh, I really miss these parades. WIll never forget seeing the Commandant(General Neller) come up right next to me at the Gym on base and he just started working out like any would, it was awesome. Now my Dad is working for General Dunford on the Chairmans Action Group as Director of the Action Group. Semper Fidelis!

Those parades were cool but at times especially places like Lejuene with that heat, sun and humidity those parades were a pain.
Used to feel for band members who did it like every other week in full uniform of the day or event.

A great story. I was in the Marine Corps 1973-1977. I would have loved to be stationed at 8th and I. After boot camp at Parris Island I had to settle for Camp LeJeune then on to Camp Foster Okinawa and back to Camp LeJeune. You know you're old when you're the same as of as Commandant General Dunford. We bought were born in 1955. Again great story. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sergeant from Charleston, West Virginia.

Proud to have served with the finest in Vietnam. God Bless Our United States Marine Corps and God Bless the USA.- SEMPER FIDELIS!

Many years later is when this appeared in my phone. What a ceremony this was! Proud day for you and those in the Pentagon. From a mother of my 2 son's who is serving, and my other son who joined when 9/11 happened, they both said it is the best accomplishment they will ever have happened in their part with our wonderful United States Of America. 🇺🇸Semper Fidelis.

We had a Captain Nazaroff who hated them and while we practiced at attention he would simulate jumping out of an aircraft, go through the motions up till when he hit the deck which he always did standing.
      True story.
If it were not for Marine hijinks and comedy it would be even worse. CoC ceremonies sucked at times as you already know.
The only thing worse was manning the rails on a ship in dress uniform.
