I need to look up this video when I buy a hand plane. Where I live here in Paraguay we have some of the hardest woods in the world that laughs at blunt tools.

Thanks. Instead of a flattening stone I use the sole of a properly fettled plane. Saves money and keeps soles really smooth so they work better.
