I wouldn't mind buying an old car and put money in it for me it would just bring memories back of my mom cause she always bought old cars when she was still living
I own a 2005 ford Taurus I love it. Older vehicles especially with the motors are designed better. Not those 2017- and so on aluminum motors where they cut corners. They actually took the time to make sure the motors were right back then.
i just bought one for one owner for 500.00 got 125000 miles been setting for 7 months but started right up 2006 Taurus SEL ,the reason i got it cheap cheap it had bad misfire it was garage keep keep ,new tires ,leather sunroof ,nice car ,i had my computer with me ran code and found it ,number 3 misfire ,coil pack i paid him went one block to Auto Zone and fixed it fresh gas and drove 100 miles home if it runs year i got my money back it don't smoke or use oil transmission is sound had it all serviced , had the brakes replaced , just put new plugs in it . It runs like new one for 500.00
I know this video is old...but just wanted to add that by this model year Ford's cost cutting quality was really at it's peak for a 2006. The Fusion was already available and superior to this in every way. I had a 2002 Taurus fully loaded and mine looked much better than this. Small cosmetic things like door handles, switches, etc. were far superior. Just look at those terrible cup holders in the rear as an example. My 2002 had fold down out actual ones, not flimsy plastic crap as in this one. The cost cutting began in 2004 as the Taurus was being phased out. For an SEL this 06 has virtually no options besides the moonroof. While both available engines proved to be mostly reliable, you really wanted the DOHC over the Vulcan. The Vulcan was noisy and slow while getting essentially the same gas mileage as the DOHC. I've driven both and it's a night and day difference.
It’s under powered compared to most V6 engines though, but it is very reliable and has more torque than most inline 4 engines. If you’re looking for speed, the Taurus is not great, but if you’re looking for a reliable car on a budget that won’t get stuck in snow it’s hard to beat.
On my 06 Taurus se the starter is under the oil filter so be careful when switching out the filter because it will leak on the starter and ruin it. I have had that issue but other than that the engine is great runs great my car currently has 140k miles and spent 2500 on it
I know I am really late commenting, but the Taurus had 2 available 3.0L V-6's. The one to get is the DOHC, not the Vulcan. 2000-2003 were the best model years for this generation. 2004 the cost cutting began because the Taurus was being phased out for the Fusion. By 2006, these were really mismatched with whatever parts Ford had left. This "SEL" isn't even properly packaged as the top of the line model.
Grandparents owned an 05 SE 5 passenger cloth seating and didn’t have the column shifter. but had the Vulcan 3.0L V6 engine. Has a turquoise/ blue color (not sure the exact name of the color). Has 208,000 miles and needs work. Mechanic said there isn’t any engine damage but check engine light is on and not sure what’s wrong with it.
My odometer light quit working 6 years ago over 500.00 to fixs it said no.do plug in computer saids theirs 99919.00 miles on it it's a 06 runs drives good
I have a 2006 Ford Taurus. Bought it in ‘09, runs like brand new still, but the paint is peeling off the hood pretty badly. Might there be anything Ford can do to help reimburse some of the cost of getting it repainted?
I know this is a 2 year old comment but I had to say this anyways were you high when you wrote that? I know some people are cheap but that is a new tier of cheap what the f***? You according to your comment bought a 4 year old used car and want them to reimburse you for old paint? 🤣

You wanna sell it to me
How has that car been? I dream of owning one one day because it's mid sized and has the front bench seating. Plus is a normal car.
i still have this car in my garage after 7 years
I was gonna buy one of these lol
Awesome to hear that you bought this car and have garage kept it since!
Those were some really comfortable seats back then
I miss front split bench seating because it makes the column shifter possible, knee room and access to both doors possible!
@42luke You’re telling me!

Don’t have to! Just a statement. Wou be wonderful if they made a sedan with it again. Mainly for the roominess and ergonomic shifter.
Wow ford have really beefed up the quality in the current gen Taurus

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus SE model
I’m thinking about getting one because I found one for sale and it’ll be my first V6 because I’ve only had 4 cylinders is this a good V6 engine ?

Really, shouldn’t it be a manufacturer’s defect because they used cheap paint???
Please stay off meth, thank you

only American cars regardless what the brand are will always have the annoying beeping sounds every time you turn the ignition key..
Putera Usman They beep because it's trying to let you know that you don't have your belt on.
How spacious is that Taurus?
Unlimited, there is no center counsel that will intrude your knees!
Thx

Np. Although some Taurus sedans may have a floor shifter. Personally I recommend the bench seat (bench was a standard option).
Who has this car?
My son had one put it got smacked around on the highway..smh
I hate it when people shut the door when doing a car review.
What color is this taurus??

Sorry for all of the sarcastic replies. The pacific name of the color is "Darkstone Grey", hope this helps!
I’m looking for Ford Taurus 2005 or 2006, and see the prices
Make sure it has 110k miles or less ☝️and the most u should pay is 3500-4000. Try to get it for 3500 or less
Somebody sold me a FORD TAURUS WIT 190k miles for $1,400
@@ernestor.5022 I just bought a 2004 Taurus with 32000 miles 😁
mine an 06 with 180k, works great but hard as shit on gas
This is a downfall compare Chevy impala and Chrysler 300 Pontiac g6 the Ford taurus have a old vibe to it's looks 2000ish so lazy Ford design.

I wish they never dropped the front split bench seat standard option in newer modes.
Total trash car, but the interiors in these are very nice though.
