This is exactly like my first car. Got it for $200 and all it needed was a starter and ran for another 2 years without any issues except the AC didn’t work my last summer owning it. I abused the heck out of that car and was super reliable
I have a '99 Ford Taurus SE with a little over 90,000 miles , which I've had since 2013. It was my first car, and I still love it. It's so comfortable and smooth. Though the A/C stopped working a few years back, and some events in my life prevented me from getting it fixed. I finally plan on getting it done this summer, despite the approximate $1000 price tag. LOL
Got an '03 SES with less than 80k on it. My first car and I'm in love with it. Sunroof and column shifter. Perfect. Took some bangs and dents already and hasn't skipped a beat. Take my AC system bro, I NEVER use it. Handles well even on 4-wheeler trails and wet clay/mud hahah love the front wheel drive too. Praise God
@@harukasaigusa8906 *UPDATE* I have since gotten it fixed. Turns out in needed a recharge, and a blend door replacement. The cold air for the A/C works like a charm now (it’s a climate control version with the buttons). It was a total of around $78 for the parts. Why no labor? I completed my Associates Degree this year and the labor got covered. It was a graduation gift.
Mine is a 2004 white on gray leather and its only got 104k miles and I bought it from an older man who had it garage kept most of its life. Great on gas and rides like a crown vic 👌
My first was an $850 2007 that rolled until 260,000 before the engine finally died. Even then it was still running on five cylinders, only one lost compression
Mine is an 03 Centennial fully loaded, leather, sun roof. I kept it in my garage. I only have 56,000 miles. I may buy 1 more vehicle before I leave this world but won't trade or sell my car. My Son has already told me he would be happy to have it when his Ford bites the dust. I am so happy he doesn't have to have a brand new car every few years. He is driving the car we bought him when he started driving. I told him then he had to take care of it because we weren't buying him another. He has taken me at my word.
I own a 2002 Ford Taurus SE. I wish Ford put discs on all 4 wheels but they obviously went cheap with drums on the back. Mine had 99,500 miles when I bought mine in 2020. However it needed alot of work due to the fact the person who owned it never maintained it. It had more wrong with it than I could detect upon test drive for which I somewhat regret ever buying. Engine light still stays on, although no mechanic can find the cause. It drives okay but is a bit touchy on acceleration as long as I am easy on the fuel pedal. Sometimes the engine light goes off, then pops back on and remains a while. I figure something is simply not perfect due to its age and the computer is sensitive to it. But after all the work it has had it gets me around as a good commute car. Ya I could buy a newer car, but the way inflation and the economy is right now that is not an option for a whole anyway.
I have a 2011 Taurus. Love it. Just don’t like the low whining noise from the injectors don’t really hear it in the 2013 and ups tho. Maybe my injectors needs to be cleaned eYe duNnO but the noise is only noticeable inside. Can’t hear anything outside the car tho.
Looks like a GL model with the base 3.0 Vulcan pushrod engine with the bench seat in the front with column shifter, the upsale LX and SHO models had bucket seats with floor shifters and had Duratec 24V or 3.4 V8 Yamaha Engines and Chrome wheels and dual exhausts.
Don't think so. The last ones in the mid 90s had a v8. These cars really suffered from the poor factory exhaust. A decent exhaust system would have made these cars run hard.
I just bought mine not to long ago its pretty beat up but i already like it got pretty scared when everyone started telling me it was a bad car and i made a bad purchase but after reading made me feel a lot better
I just bought a 2003 for $1700. Ton of room, boaty as hell, but a ton of room for my 6'5 brother. With 155 horsepower, she ain't quick but solid enough.
The Taurus' are perfect first cars. Not too much power for a newbie to handle, amazing gas milage, reliable as Hell, and absurdly cheap. The Five Hundreds are similarly great, being the Taurus' smaller, less popular cousin, but they're a bitch to work on when you need to and body parts are hard to come by.
I prefer the 86-95 Taurus. I'm going to purchase a 1986 Taurus LX Wagon soon and restore it. Then some day I'll find a lower from L or GL wagon and then that into an a Taurus SHO wagon.
I have a 2012 Subaru Outback and it’s similar to a ford since the color of the Subaru logo gives away is similarity, since both their logos are an oval shape with a blue background and silver lettering or design it compares, now the 2019 Ford Ranger, and the 2019 Chevy Colorado look similar to a Toyota Tacoma because there are some possibilities that Toyota have their car body parts to Ford and Chevy to make their rip off Colorado and ranger, they’re so like the Tacoma
Ur in the coachella Valley huh? Looks like palm springs/desert hot springs area. I just bought a 06 ford taurus yesterday I love it over my 97 ford taurus lx
Get it if it has the Vulcan. I hear those are great engines. Where else can you get a mid sized sedan with front split bench seating? That’s such a cool feature!
Yeah totally. At first it looked like the bumper was swapped with a newer one. But them the gagues and wheel were the refreshed design too. No way someone swapped that all in. I agree 2004-2007
Just bought one for 500 with 70k miles in 2022. Fucking steal tbh I’m gonna paint and replace the bumper and dings and resell It for 2k especially in today’s used car biz I could probly get 5k for it as 2022 is hell for cars.
That Taurus is no older than a 2004 and my 01 Taurus SES handles like it's on rails, and you have no clue what you are talking about, both in general and the Ford Taurus is a Sport Sedan, that body is a midsize car also.

How much did u sell it for?

That's awesome. A lot of the early 2000s cars were built very well. I currently drive a 2003 Lexus ES300 and I love it.
It cannot be older than a 2004-2007. That is when they got that nice refresher.
Unless someone completely changed it all to look like 2004.
Yeah it’s definitely the 04-07. The front grill gives it away instantly followed by the updated gauge cluster and steering wheel.
That Vulcan Taurus has 155 horsepower
Though the optional Duratec engine did have 200 hp

There are rear disc brakes from Gen Ill's that work on the Gen IV's

Damn you know your Ford Taurus's
Paid 500 for mine. None runner. Invested 200 into it. Running 2 years no issue until now. Still going good after some maintance
Awesome
Oh GOD! I used to work on those crap boxes. There was only one good one. They were th SHO. I did smoke them no problem in my Quad 4
Do they have a sho in this generation of Taurus?
Don't think so. The last ones in the mid 90s had a v8. These cars really suffered from the poor factory exhaust. A decent exhaust system would have made these cars run hard.
@@w41duvernay I've seen the most recent ones with that twin turbo V6.
@@TheCoolestCourier My bad! Totally forgot anout the new ones.

318k miles on my 02 and it’s my first car I’m keeping it

haha i have a 2001 😂
Great review gonna get one
Judging by the grille and taillights, that's a 2004-2007 model isn't it?
Yes, the steering wheel was my first tip off of it being 04-07.
I have an 07 and recently a 2000

Damn that sucks, sorry to hear that.
What motor was on it btw? Vulcan or Duratech
Now I have a black 2005 Ford Taurus
I can tell you have the dhoc I have ohv and dhoc I agree my dhoc produces more torque
I'm going to look at an 07 Taurus for $200 all it needs is a new water pump

It's Wildomar California. Near Temecula
I just bought a 05 light blue with 70k miles for 1.7k.
Good deal!
I might look at one tommorow, A 2001 Ford Taurus SES with 125k on it, What you think?
I would stick with a camry, accord, civic, or Corolla honestly
