You can still build muscle and have a good libido with low testosterone...TRT is not safe .it speeds up cancers in your body...and can cause heart disease ..😮
TRT does not effect aging...and has many side effects that can turn up later .like speeding up cancers, and heart disease 1/10...the body lowers testosterone as we age to protect us from these diseases.😮..
I'm 63 and taking Enclomiphene. Best thing that ever happened to me. Zero side effects, no needles, no testicular atrophy, in 6 months I've made back all the muscle loss from taking no action for almost three years after my T Level fell off a cliff! T level now between 1100 and 1200.
He's not talking about T...he's talking about an off label use for clomid which is what steroid users use after a cycle to "jump start" their regular T production...never heard of anyone running it non-stop though, they normally start at a high dose and taper down for up to 4 weeks. Clomid is supposed to be for treating certain types of cancer by blocking a hormone that accelerates the cancer so this is a take I've never heard before
I'm a 58-year-old former competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter. Three years ago, I went to the doctor to get my test levels checked. My numbers were low. They were in, but low. I asked the doctor if I could get TRT. He said no, because my numbers were in, even though I had symptoms of low T. This is why so many older men are taking TRT illegally: Many doctors will not prescribe it. No, I am not taking it illegally. Thank you for a good video.
It happened to me too. I even argued with the so-called endocrinologist. He tested me twice, and the results came back low,he said that my free testosteron was in the middle and there was no need. So, like you said, I look for a men's clinic here in Florida and I started TRT recently.

There’s a HUGE difference between “normal” and “optimal.” But the vast majority of physicians don’t grasp this. A Maserati with underinflated tires simply won’t perform as well. As a physician, I want my patients in the “optimal” range!

I'm 71, 20-25 yrs ago, I was diagnosed w/ low teststerone & Rx'd testosterone. I transitioned between primary care physicians between diagnosis & Rx. My new doc was the new director of PC at the med school in our city. She got shaky about it 5-10 years later, but couldn't stop Rx-ing. Once you start, your body stops, so supplements must continue. We have a great doc-patient relationship, partly due to my background in sports medicine, my 1st career in the 70's-80's. She jokingly refers to me as her experiment because the neg BS has caused docs to shy away from Rxing. I have several traumatic joint injuries & a bunch of overuse joint injuries & moderate-severe musclular injuries. 90% of them come from being a professional free-style skier in the '70's, a semi-pro soccer player, (both knees) & generally leading an extreme sport lifestyle in my non-comp activities. I also have some severe nerve injuries. I have no doubt the testosterone has helped the chronic pain, as well as recovery from aggravation of old injuries & new injuries. New? I haven't slowed down. I don't participate in extreme sports, but I still do construction work on my own property, a bit slower, from caution, but still work the same as I did in my 30's & 40's. I developed HPV throat cancer in 2020, had a recurrance in '21 & it metastizized to my liver in '23. None of the onco's were concerned w/ the test Rx. It has been one of the best medical treatments I've lucked into. The summer before cancer, I was in as good of physical condition at 65, as I was at 25. Didn't have the aerobic conditioning level, anaerobically, I had it. I am still recovering from chemo-radio treatment; it's been a slow climb, but I'm about 70% of pre-cancer. By next summer, I will be ready to step up considerably in my work & training. By no rain summer & roof work time, I plan on continuing the complete re-build of the roof structure of my home, ceiling to ridge of house, which cancer interrupted. Oh, I have to mix in re-plumbing this place, as well. And be 72 in Sept. I owe some of it to bring an athlete young, & generally staying fit my entire life, but I feel the test Rx has been positive, as well. My PC doc closely monitors blood levels, (3-5 blood tests a year). Mostly to monitor high blood pressure issues, no problems once I discovered the hidden caffeine I was ingesting, but I am also Rx'd adderal for ADD & a 'healthy' dose of opiates for severe chronic pain, both of which can elevate BP. I've been managing severe pain w/ opiates since ~1980. I'm one of the lucky few who has no addiction issues, to anything, w/ a only a moderate increase in strength/total opiate intake over ~55 years. Underprescribed for decades, cancer of all things, has finally enabled me to have adequate pain meds to manage my pain, not stress month after month over taking enough to manage pain vs run short. It a ironic way, cancer has been good for the pain mgt aspect of my health care, a very sad statement on modern health care. My PSA tends to rise & drop in 8-18 month cycles. It goes up, nothing is found wrong, then it works it's way down for a while. No explanations for that one. I have rather severe case of BHP, (BPH?). Cancer sidelined pursuit of aggressive treatment, tried a lot of trad treatment; now I manage w/ common sense & s Rx to relax my urethral canal. I manage to keep my bladder emptied, have few collateral symptoms, compared to the pre-common sense method & much less stress than the 18 months I used intermittant catheters. I've had an above average sized prostate my entire life; likely a contributing factor. Can't say enough about the good I've experienced being a testosterone 'experiment'.
TRT speeds up cancers in the body and can cause heart disease in 1/10..a lot of benefits can be achieved through natural means ..even with low testosterone, .you can build muscle and have a healthy libido...TRT does nothing for pain and neuropathy..or aging...and is not safe 😮
I started TRT about a year ago. Testosterone cypionate every two weeks, serum testosterone measuring between 600 to 800 ng/dl between injections. Combined with changes in diet and adoption of an exercise program, I have been able to drop nearly 50 lbs, Triglycerides dropped from 350 to 80, LDL from 140 to 70, HDL rose from from mid thirties to 48. TRT was not the only factor in the improvements in my metabolic profile, but I feel it was very instrumental. My motivation to exercise (indeed, motivation in general) improved after I initiated therapy. It as also helped me regain muscle mass (in conjunction with diet and exercise), which I believe has contributed considerably to my improved metabolic profile, and has led to an overall improvement in general fitness and energy. PSA has been unchanged from before I began TRT, no erythrocytosis or any other side effects. Mental clarity and mood have also improved. As an adjunct to lifestyle interventions, I think medically supervised TRT can be very beneficial for older men with low T, at least based on my experiences with it.
I was injecting T for eight years. My level I kept just below 750. I'm 76, and I felt like a teenager. I was killing it in the gym. My mood was great. Life was good! My psa exam in June came back at 740. The doctor immediately took me off testosterone. After testing, no prostate cancer was found. My psa in September was down to 240, normal range. However, since being off T, my level now is 80. I don't have the strength that I had before. I'm lethargic, moody, and depressed.
@@DonBURNS-t2q if the psa went back down it is not cancer. you can go back on trt. you need a better doctor who understands this. put you on proscar or a similar dht suppressor.
Great topic Doc!!! I've been tested a few years ago because I have lowered testosterone during a physical. I've been noticing my body changes low energy and extra weight gain. I was prescribed a higher does of vitamin D (once a week) for about 3 months. I've been taking vitamins, vitamin D, and zinc to help. It's slow working, but still having a slow time losing weight and regaining my energy levels back, by the way I'm 55 (I know that I'm not longer younger anymore). I'm going to keep working out, eating right, and get more rest. I know this is a slow process, hopefully I can get close to some sort of normality. Thanks Doc!!! Enjoy the rest of your week!!!!❤
An insightful discussion! As a practitioner in HRT and sexual wellness, I believe addressing patient education and individual assessments is key to overcoming these challenges. It's essential for us to foster an open dialogue about the benefits and risks of testosterone therapy to empower our patients in making informed decisions. Great content!
It's getting better, but still have a lot of GPs who treat me like I'm a criminal for being on TRT or TRT+. Finally found a practitioner through telemed that listens to me.
Your fellow Urodoc here enjoyed the heck out of this discussion. I've been scared to prescribe testosterone in the past. This will cause me to loosen up a bit. Great topic!
My urologist is in the same boat. I will be sure to mention this video to him. He is concerned because my PSA rose after beginning TRT. Looks like they are unrelated.
You can still build testosterone and have a good libido with low testosterone.. TRT is not safe and can speed up cancers and cause heart problems 1/10.😮
I shared this with all of the men who need the message. I've been over 1000+ ng/dl for 2 years and they've all seen my health and robustness roll back to my levels 12-15 years ago. They see it, yet they disregard as they slow down, get docile, change personality. I'll keep modeling and nudging in hopes that they all investigate.
@@Nordic_Sky Based on? I am 59 & now in excellent health. The delta between then (220 ng/dl) and the last 2 years (900-1100 ng/dl) is astonishing. I am active & robust. It enables more exercise and movement. Muscles & sexual functions react as they did 12-15 years ago. No inexperienced, credentialed MD is likely to sway my opinion (we all have to quit doing that). I believe my eyes and experience. Also, a dozen other men who share my experience, which is meaningful anecdotal data for me. I do respect gold standard research. I haven't heard about any that indicates not maintaining "average levels" are good/bad/better/worse/carcinogenic. I'm listening to sources like Dr. Malik, et. al. Nothing yet.
You can still build muscle and have a good libido with low testosterone..TRT..is dangerous because it speeds up cancers and causes heart problems in 1/10...Robert Kennedy Jr .has been on TRT for ten years and looks like S**T ..😮
I've been on TRT pellets for almost 10 years now. I'm 70. Changed my life. My mood, energy, strength all significantly improved. The only drawbacks for me, so far, is a lot of body hair growth and smaller testicles. I can still make gains in the gym, still ride my road bike though I'm getting slower and weight loss/control is MUCH easier to accomplish.
I'm reading Dr. Morgentaler's book, Testosterone For Life, right now! I'm also taking notes to send on to my brother and a few other 60+ year old friends
I had testosterone in the 300s and TRT raised it to average. What a difference! I've always been a gym rat but had a hard time building muscle, and those last 5 lbs. of fat would never come off. Now I can build muscle more easily (it still requires a lot of work, but it is doable), and the 5 lbs. came off without my even trying. My PSA has gone up, so the MD wanted me to stop TRT until they had investigated further (probably a biopsy). I will make sure my MD is aware of this video. Thanks Drs. Malik and Morgantaler!
This is me right now....going to the gym and getting very little noticeable physical benefits. I feel like I'm training harder - getting weaker and cant move the stubborn fat no matter what I do.
@@aaron4387 of course the older you get the harder it is to make muscle. Even on TST. Not impossible. Work three x as hard with small results. Part of life
@chipcook6646 doubt very much that gaining muscle on TRT is equal to or harder than not being on TRT. What exactly is your experience or qualification?
@ not qualified just from real experience. Of course TRT helps make muscle and keeps the fat off. I take other stuff also. I am very fit. Would not like be without TRT. No way a 60 year old is going to put muscle mass on like a 20 year old. No way a 60 year old performs like a 20 year old.
@@chipcook6646 I can assure you I'm not trying to be 20 again at 50. plus I think it's very obvious that's not going to happen. I'm hoping to build and maintain what I can and get best possible results for my efforts is all.
I've been on TRT since I hit 48, nearly 10 years now. My Endocrinologist perscribed it after my general MD declined. I get bloodwork every three months and adjust to keep me from going above the the range, which is much better than living at the bottom of the range and being miserable.
Dr Morgantaler was my doctor, he was out of Chestnut Hill, MA. Twelve years ago I was diagnosed with low T. I was afraid to go on it, of the possible side effects. I decided to lose weight; lost 25 lbs, went to the gym regularly. I decided to have my T levels checked again; my T levels were still low. My prostate was a healthy 20cc size, with a PSA of 1.6. I was assured T was safe. After being on T for 2 years PSA went up to 4.7. Today, 12 years later, PSA is 11.5 waiting for biopsy results for prostate cancer.
My doctor treated me as a statistic, said because my " numbers" are/ were in a " normal range" albeit the very low edge of the range,,,, But I was not getting any benefits from TRT, and I vehemently expressed this, and he would not budge into giving me a larger and more frequent dose. The dose he was giving me was 100 mg. of testosterone cypianate in a 1/2ml. syringe. This was injected every 21 days... This is crazy.. Such a low dose, and spaced so far apart was definitely a case of malpractice. 😮
I've been on TRT for 3 years and switched to injections instead of topical just recently. I'm 59. I swear this stuff has almost stopped my ageing process. I'm healthier overall now than I was four years ago. Stronger, fitter, taking FEWER prescription medications and smaller doses. My bloodwork shows me back in normal ranges on EVERYTHING. TRT is a treatment for getting older, though it's not exactly a cure. I think all men should get on it by 50. And women should also take equivalent hormone replacement therapy, if safe to do so.
@@chipcook6646 I'm 62. Worth trying? I only have high blood pressure. Was in shape until COVID came and had to stop going to the gym for a year. Now metabolism is slower and getting fatter 😢
After retiring from the Army in 2010, adjusting to civilian life was tough. I struggled with weight gain, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, from all those deployments. During gym sessions, I tried to push through but left me drained, both mentally and physically. The VA doctors wouldn’t help me, they just kept pushing benzols on me. But then I found an amazing doctor. Right off the bat, she asked if I’d ever had my testosterone levels checked and immediately ran the labs. Now after 6 years? Things are different!! Recovery is faster, my mental health is way better, and I don’t rely on meds like I used to. I’ve learned how high-stress situations can mess with your testosterone levels. When you’re under pressure, your body cranks out cortisol, and high cortisol can shut down testosterone production. Starting TRT was a game-changer for me. Before TRT, my testosterone was at 191, a ridiculously low number. I started at 200mg a week, but it threw my labs all over the place. My doctor adjusted the dose, dialing it back until we hit the sweet spot: 125mg a week. Now my numbers are perfect, and I feel amazing. Will I ever stop? Hell no. This is about staying healthy, both physically and mentally. Oh, and don’t forget to do your cardio, it makes a difference.
TRT just makes you more healthy. Even going a little above the TRT range “sports TRT” is quite well tolerated by most people. It’s typically all the other performance enhancing steroids which cause the bad sides you see associated with steroids. Test is best as they say.
Same for me. Doing Testogel for half a year and it changed my life. 42 years old. 2 children. Had testical cancer with filiae in spine, liver, lungs 20 years ago. Got depressed in recent time, could not concentrate, got fat, high cortisol. Started TRT and my life changed within weeks. Ok, my testicle is smaller, but i dont care, because i want no more kids and at the same time my performance in bed increased. My wife is happy. Can do it like a Teenager. All day long if i want to.
I find it really refreshing for doctors to also prioritize quality of life instead of just focusing on curing or prolonging life, which is good too, but I completely agree with the message here, what's the point of living a longer but sadder life?
Testosterone therapy saved my life. Unfortunately, regular M.D.s wouldn't prescribe it to me, so I have to go the underground route. And I'm honest with my doctor. She sees that my bloodwork is good on testosterone but still won't prescribe it. It's frustrating.
Who needs TRT when you have Dr Malik’s… ample credentials? Jokes aside, this is amazing information. I decided that enough was enough and saw my PCP today to begin my TRT journey. Tomorrow they’re testing my T levels, which I can tell are low based on my symptoms. You only get 1 shot at this life, so you should do everything you can to enjoy it.
It's very easy to find a clinic that will sell you TRT. They have no interest in treating your symptoms of low T. Treatment will likely have to come from an endocrinologist. The difficulty is finding one that has a clue about the various meds in addition to T for treating the symptoms of low T. A wealth of info available from RUclips channels. Urologist, for the most part are just not up to speed on TRT.
My doctor has done the blood work and my testosterone level came back at almost 0. But because I have higher blood pressure won't do anything about it. So I just keep gaining weight even though I get plenty of exercise. Been giving me the run around for over a year now.
I really enjoy these talks on Testosterone. I've been on "T" injections thru a clinic (on the good side of town) for 3 years with good results. I have my blood checked regularly and donate regularily. I know what my blood values should be and my PSA is usually between..9 and 1.3. I always worried about prostate problems but my regular Dr. Who stick her nose in the air about "T" is fine with where I am at. Probably the only bad side affect is the testicles shrink which always worries my wife.
My GP doesn't prescribe testosterone, not because she doesn't believe in it, but because she doesn't want to be responsible for all the follow-up testing to ensure I'm receiving the correct dose. She believes I would need blood tests every few months to verify that my testosterone level (and the levels of all the other hormones taking testosterone might affect) is correct. Her practice isn't set up for that. So, she referred me to a specialist.
I’m planning on asking my doctor about prescribing me testosterone. She is old school and I think she will be reluctant to do so. I’m not wild about doctor shopping to find one that will. I hope I can convince her that it is not dangerous.
Check out online options. I’m doing it through the doctor online and it’s working great. make sure you shop around and price though because they’re a lot of hidden fees out there
My US MD would not prescribe, waving it off, saying my 300ish was "fine." I started TRT after seeing a urologist in Bangkok. After starting there and getting great results, my US MD agreed to continue the prescription. Now I don't know how I lived without it. The benefits are subtle, but real.
Interesting. I’m on daily tadalafol which I find very helpful, although my docs are not huge fans. However between that & a couple other changes I’m seeing more energy, lower appetite, starting to lose weight (still plenty to go). I’m thinking there’s a possibility it has to do with stabilizing/correcting T levels. Have not had them checked though. If trt does ever enter the picture though, I’ve already had a vasectomy so fertility really isn’t a concern. At that point I guess they’ll just be for decoration.
You mean they are now giving anesthesia when doing the biopsy? Lucky dudes. I would go through the surgery again before having to take that biopsy. I about passed out.
In my city, all the male clinics are in upscale areas. I went to see an urologist and he was not into prescribing it. He was gonna give me the lowest dose to get me over 300.
Docs under Dose and shady mens clinics tend to over dose. The mens clinic I use says 200 mg/mL once a week. My test starting level was 341. I injected only 160 mg/ml split twice a week ( 80 mg/ml twice a week ) and the next time I was tested my level went up to 1100. The good tings is I got more doses per vial.
Have low T since my thirty’s….. took shot raised my hermatocrit level to high t. Levels have been from 160 to 1400. From shots………….. so be careful with your treatment
I’m 46 years old with no energy often brain fog very fatigued, but with a normal level of testosterone says my personal care physician. I have slightly elevated cholesterol, blood glucose level and fasting at 1:03. With a testosterone level somewhere in the lower 600s I don’t remember exactly. I would just like to feel 30 again so what are you do do I go to a low T Center and say the heck with my personal care physician. I just do what is that I feel is best???
I have the opposite problem. I'm 63 and just had my testosterone tested. I'm no longer 1000+. I'm now at 915. This has caused hair loss and BPH. I've read that it puts me at a higher risk for heart disease. There are foods I can eat to bring the level down but I already it them which is why I probably dropped to 915.
@@daffidavit Yes, I know. It was somewhere over 1000 when I was 50. Tested at 60 and it was 890. Now 915. I would like to shave a couple hundred off because of the heart disease thing.
@@davidkanalos6710 My doctor told me that 300 is "old man levels". I've known him a long time so he can talk to me that way. After I took testosterone I went from 175 to eventually over 1000. I’ve had 2200 testosterone with perfect lab work and a doctors golden approval that he can’t help me in anyway. All the way to a 290 after stopping to change doctors and him recommending I get back on immediately because my labwork is all over the place. It’s better to have too much, rather than not enough. Go black market if you need to! The medical establishment demonized it so you stay weak and compliant.
How do you find a Doctor that will prescribe "real" testosterone...as opposed to the Doc in a box that compounds his own formula, that insurance won't cover?
I asked my Dr on a lark to test my testosterone level during a wellness visit when I was 55 or so. I'm a weightlifter and have been since I was 16. My test came back showing low T. I was very surprised and was certainly not feeling weak in the gym. She had my pituitary cat scanned and checked all the usual suspects that might have been causing the low T. Psa perfectly normal. I've been using T since my mid fifties and am 69 now. I use gel but have injected cypionate as well. Just had a recent blood test for T level. Psa normal, Testo at 440.
I had high psa numbers for years. Had a biopsy and things were fine. I asked for testerone and he gave it to me. I was gaining weight and no energy. I was on it for about 2 years and my psa numbers went way up. Did another biopsy and I had prostate cancer. Had 42 radiation treatments and things are good so far and it will be 5 years this December. Have asked for testerone again and my urologist and primary doctor have told me no. I have had 2 episodes of heart trouble and been diagnosed a diabetic. Gained weight and do not do anything. No energy. Some might say depressed. Don't think I am there yet. Sex is just in the mind of memories. Sucks, but I am still here and glad I am. By the way I had proton radiation for the cancer and would go that way again after talking to people that had surgery. I sure do like listening and reading g Dr. Malik. Please keep up the information.
I don't have medical unsurance, and I have a tight budget. All the online and local strip mall testosterone shops advertise that it's affordable, but after contacting them it's always 200-300 per month for treatment (meds and testing). I couldn't almost just get an insurance policy for that much money. Does anyone know where I can get legit treatment for under 100 per month?
Mexico or almost any country in central and South America. Its about $15 per week if micro-dosing subcutaneously (6 days a week) Take a vacay and bring it back. Most pharmacies stock it and if you want a prescription to go with it, there's always a doctor willing to provide one for a small tip.
Is there a way to tell your body to make more? My issue with T replacement is it renders you sterile, and TRT can make it impossible to go off because you loose the ability to make your own. At lease this is my understanding. Can you address this?
Yes there is. TRT in not only test injections. You can upregulate your own testosterone by using en-clomiphene tables or using HCG injections. All must be done under the supervision of the doctor, and using the lowest dose effective
@ I would have done this years ago. Didn’t think about it 20 years ago, just thought it was like a supplement. I’m sure our environment has a lot to do with all this but I take my gel and things work.
I would love to try TRT however test is 685 decent for 62yo but my available or free is low. Is there a way to lower SHBG which is high to raise free test which might help me feel better, low energy ,lost muscle, gained fat. Maybe one of you docs has a supplement or therapy that can help with my primary is not familiar with anything, thanks for video and any help you may have.
I have high shbg, there’s a few ways with boron and some other remedies, my doc recommended a little higher dose of trt to get my free T up higher. Well worth it.
I do think it is odd, that males synthesize about 5mg daily = 35 mg weekly, but when testosterone cypionate is prescribed, they prescribe 100mg weekly. Why prescribe 3x the physiologic dose?????
Testosterone cypionate is the hormone bound to an ester group, so not all of the mass is testosterone. I think something like 71 mg of the 100mg is actual T. Externally administered drugs aren't going to exactly mimic the cycles and availability of the body's own hormone either.
@@hhkk6155 I started with 100mg weekly, and it did rise to about 1500ng/dl. "Real TRT"? If you mean that Rx for 100mg is not real, are you implying that 50-70 is legit? I don't think that is the conventional prescribing dosage.

Testosterone is effective but not without side effects. Side effects can include increased estrogen (will produce man boobs unless the man takes Estradiol too). Also, it will cause an increase in hematocrit levels, which thickens blood (will need to do regular blood donations to keep hemacrotit level down). Switching to Clomid (Clomiphene) is an option, and a more natural way to restore proper testosterone levels without the above side effects. But it has its own side effects. All TRT regimens have risks.
I believe the “quality of life” they’re referring to is every day life like walking, lifting things around the house, and of course sexual health. There is significant research now has shown testosterone helps metabolic health as well.
Taking testosterone isn’t “cheating”. It’s pretty much accepted in the sport. The NPC doesn’t even test for it. I don’t believe the IFBB does either. Bodybuilders have been doing it since the “golden era”, which was Arnold’s day.
Look into micro dosing 5mg of cialis daily for BPH. Lots of data put there. Works great for me. Went from going 6, 7 times a night, now once or twice. A good nights sleep make a huge difference in mood, stamina and energy and will help your T levels too.

Great video Doc!👍🏼🇺🇸
I think my T level is up 10 % at least.
@@slatsgrobneck7515 Not just my T level...Doc. is the cure...

Is TRT putting you at over 1000? I think my MD would be concerned about putting it much above the middle of the range.

Today, 12 years later, PSA is 11.5 waiting for biopsy results for prostate cancer.
ohh, sorry to hear that. i really hope your results come back negative for cancer. post an update to your comment when your results are in. 🙏

My test is through the roof with that beautiful view of such a lovely woman, my God!
Thank you for have Dr. Morgantaler speak. I’ve been a fan of him ever since he wrote his Testosterone book.
I find it really refreshing for doctors to also prioritize quality of life instead of just focusing on curing or prolonging life, which is good too, but I completely agree with the message here, what's the point of living a longer but sadder life?

about the various meds in addition to T for treating the symptoms of low T. A wealth of info available from

Disagree. Family Doctors are more against it. Even though one started me on it. I moved and now go to a Urologist they have no problem with TST.

Excellent discussion.
My doctor has done the blood work and my testosterone level came back at almost 0. But because I have higher blood pressure won't do anything about it. So I just keep gaining weight even though I get plenty of exercise. Been giving me the run around for over a year now.

My GP doesn't prescribe testosterone, not because she doesn't believe in it, but because she doesn't want to be responsible for all the follow-up testing to ensure I'm receiving the correct dose. Her practice isn't set up for that. So, she referred me to a specialist.

I’m on daily tadalafol which I find very helpful, although my docs are not huge fans. However between that & a couple other changes I’m seeing more energy, lower appetite, starting to lose weight (still plenty to go). You mean they are now giving anesthesia when doing the biopsy? Lucky dudes. I would go through the surgery again before having to take that biopsy. I about passed out.

@ I would have done this years ago. Didn’t think about it 20 years ago, just thought it was like a supplement. I’m sure our environment has a lot to do with all this but I take my gel and things work.
shout out to the Test plugs
I assume they’re talking about TRT and not getting an injection from Billy behind the gym 😂
In your opinion a person who has been on HDT can that person have Testosterone? I had a Gleason score of 7 4 plus 3 and a psa of 45.
Years ago I discussed testoserone with my doctor, but there was evidence that it contributed to heart failure. Is there new, refuting research?
My Primary says no was as it it dangerous to take.
Correct go to a Urologist.
They know more than a family doctor. Your family doctor does not want to be liable. Doesn’t have much experience on this.
SHGB can me impacted by being carb deficiency in diet. Eat healthy carbs along with high protein diet. No magic bullet but it will help.
I have high shbg, there’s a few ways with boron and some other remedies, my doc recommended a little higher dose of trt to get my free T up higher. Well worth it.
Nope External testosterone suppresses natural testosterone secretion
That's both true and pointless. Might as well say water is wet. This is about people who *Already* have decreased endogenous production.
But it's no problem if I ask a doc to cut off my penis and pump me full of estrogen-and that's ok somehow.
You make the most valid point ever!
AND, its paid for. Won't cost a dime. ugh
Go figure.
I do think it is odd, that males synthesize about 5mg daily = 35 mg weekly, but when testosterone cypionate is prescribed, they prescribe 100mg weekly. Why prescribe 3x the physiologic dose?????
How is that testosterone dispensed? Is there an uptake or absorption issue.
Testosterone cypionate is the hormone bound to an ester group, so not all of the mass is testosterone. I think something like 71 mg of the 100mg is actual T.
Externally administered drugs aren't going to exactly mimic the cycles and availability of the body's own hormone either.
100 mg a week easily gets a level of 1000ng, most of the time it's way over 1000 more like 1500-1700 . Real TRT is like 50-70 mg a week
@@hhkk6155 I started with 100mg weekly, and it did rise to about 1500ng/dl. "Real TRT"? If you mean that Rx for 100mg is not real, are you implying that 50-70 is legit? I don't think that is the conventional prescribing dosage.
@@hhkk6155that’s not true at all. Everyone responds differently. Many patients on 200mg/week have total levels in the 700’s.
Your 1st wedding gift 🎁 = Cheating ❤❤
Yes I get plenty of snide looks from the blue haired androgynous woman who gives me my prescription every time I come and pick it up
Finley someone's saying positive things about mens health and how much men need to havea health lifestyle
They are hesitant to prescribe Viagra unless they make money off of it.

All TRT regimens have risks.
what's this "quality of life" you speak of?
I believe the “quality of life” they’re referring to is every day life like walking, lifting things around the house, and of course sexual health. There is significant research now has shown testosterone helps metabolic health as well.

Taking testosterone isn’t “cheating”. It’s pretty much accepted in the sport. The NPC doesn’t even test for it. I don’t believe the IFBB does either. Bodybuilders have been doing it since the “golden era”, which was Arnold’s day.
The are not hesitant to prescribe to women their hormones, and even to men 😂

What is Unix? Is it something to do with castration?
Yes, they remove the testes to make them docile.
@@postalinVT Thanks
@@ahmd5 Its eunuch, not Unix. Eunuch as in Lord Varys. Unix is an operating system.

I have BPH. Can I take TRT?? Please advise. Thx
Look into micro dosing 5mg of cialis daily for BPH. Lots of data put there. Works great for me. Went from going 6, 7 times a night, now once or twice. A good nights sleep make a huge difference in mood, stamina and energy and will help your T levels too.
Thanks! I will. But is there a danger in taking T with BPH?
@robertsmith337 that I don't know
