Fill the bowl of cooked chickpeas back with water and rub handfuls together with flat palms, then most the skins will float to the top. A much faster process.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I can't believe the difference between the fresh peas and the canned. I have tried making it with canned lots of times and ended up throwing it away. But this is the taste I was going for, thank you. I have a new Instant pot and haven't figured out how it works, so I over cooked the peas, which means peeling was out of the question. I dumped the batch in the blender, followed the rest of the instructions and it came out as smooth as butter. Evidently the overcooking softened the skins, so I will be overcooking them going forward because it solves the peeling job and there are no lumps. Next time I will try cutting the recipe in half, because the full recipe is a lot for one person.

Love this. I hate thick, chalky hummus that I get in restaurants. Sabra that I get at the store is really creamy, but I go through a package quickly. I've been buying the cheaper stuff when I have to, then adding water and lemon juice and minced garlic before serving to make it smoother before serving. This recipe motivates me to make my own -- yum!

I forgot to put the baking soda in so it took me two hours to take the husks off of 3 cups of chickpeas but it was well worth it. So far I've found the best way to eat this hummus is with a drizzle of good olive oil and a spoon. Thank you so very much for sharing this recipe.

If you want to plate it nicely you can get a big spoon and drop a big dollop in the middle of the plate and then push while making a swirl with the back of the spoon. That's how they do it at the Israeli restaurant I used to work at. Also a really good topper is the herb Za'atar. Thanks for the tip on peeling them!

I learned today that you have to let it naturally release for like 10 min per the written recipe. The video doesn’t tell you that, and the chick peas will explode and come out the vent in a mush. Still tasted great though!

Excellent recipe's for hummus. I haven't eaten hummus for a while but I will definitely do this once I get a new food processor. Will canned chickpeas work for doing it quickly?

I use hummus instead of mayo. So much tastier and healthier. Cheaper too when you buy the dry peas which is like 1 dollar a pound where I live.
