Here is a MUCH NEEDED natural hair update and my plans for my winter/spring routine for fast hair growth (we know it's really all about length retention). #hairgrowth #naturalhair #type4hair

    I have found that keeping my hair stretched and blow dried has helped with length retention. I blow dry then braid it or I do roller sets. Less wet styling and manipulation has been a game changer. 😊😊

      I keep hearing about stretching our natural hair more. Have you given up Wash N Go's? Do you flat-iron at all or just blowdry straight?

      @@SheReaDelSolhow often do you blow dry?

    • @KR-xh4wn
      @KR-xh4wn 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@pamelasa I only do wash and gos occasionally in the summer. I blow out my hair and then put it in a few big braids and wear it like that. Then if I go out I take down the braids and wear it loose and in a braid out style. But I always start with blow dried hair. Not wet. I also use a little hair oil on my ends before I braid. In the winter I also flat iron. Or I do a protective style. But again. My hair underneath is blown out. My other favorite go to is a roller set. Low manipulation. No direct heat. I’m retaining so much more length now.

      @@KR-xh4wn WOW, thanks. I have the Revair dryer and I love the ease of it. Have you noticed that your hair has grown by keeping it stretched, instead of tightly curled all the time in a Wasn n go?

    Happy New Year and I hope your 2024 is better than 2023. My hair care routine is basic and I don't use a lot of products. My scalp is more of an issue than my hair so I use a prescription shampoo once a week and a steroid solution after every shampoo which is every 3 - 4 days. Since I have to shampoo so frequently, after conditioning and detangling I either do a WnG or two to four twists dry and pin them up and wear a head wrap in some way. I am having fun learning different ways to tie head wraps.

    My crown is the driest kinkiest most prone to breakage area of my head as well. What I found made my hair grow the best was leaving it alone. Not being obsessed over booty crack, or any length hair just taking care of it as it was, and taking care of it basically involved washing it and deep conditioning it once a week and then not touching it for the whole week unless I was going out to dinner, or a concert, or somewhere special where I would wear it out. Simplicity and low maintenance are the way to go.

    I have the same plan for this year. I'm wearing it stretched this year, trimming every 3mo, and looking to flat iron at least once a year. I've also realized my hair needs trims. Ive been natural my whole life and I used to have waist lenth hair as a teen due to heat stretching and trimming regularly. My hair suffered for years being a "no heat/ no protective styling/ no professional trims natural."

    Happy New Year and thank you for your great content. My hair goals are simple, this year. I’m good with my hair now so I’d settle for no damage or major set backs, as I focus on other things this year. 🤞🏽 I’m using hair rules no suds cleansing cream as a detangling pre-poo, sometimes if I’m too tired to go through with the wash day, I’ll just leave it in my hair a day or two. I’ll comb out my hair and make big twist. I wash it out, with either Moroccan moisture repair shampoo, or Olaplex shampoo or whatever really. I’m really loving Olaxplex 4 in 1 as a deep conditioner or their No. 8 mask or Redken All Soft Heavy Cream Super Treatment For Dry And Brittle Hair. Then I use SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intense Hydration Leave in Conditioner, and seal with Kuza Jamaican Black Castor Oil Braid Spray. It’s been working for moisture and really reduces breakage.

    I only used the Living Proof one time so far so no thoughts on how it helps my fine color treated strands. However, K18 did make my hair softer than the LP but the LP fits better in my routine. I can shampoo, condition, use the LP, wait 10 min and then go in with my leave in conditioner. K18 doesn't want you to condition first which doesn't work for me.

      Your hair should not have such dramatic difference in thickness from root to ends. Even with hair growing at different speeds, ends shouldnt be sparse. I don't have a blunt cut. She goes through layer by layer and cuts the different layers separately.

    I’m definitely implementing a lot more OlaPlex in my hair care regimen. A lot more styling with my RevAir because my hair seems to like to be stretched more, even though my curls are not very tight, because my hair is fine it tends to do better if I’m not doing wash-n-go’s ALL the time. Definitely gonna be throwing out some old products that I just never got around to using and at this point I cannot find a reason to implement them into my hair care regimen! 😩. Keeping up with my trims, because I am the definition of a lazy natural 😆🥹. I don’t really have a length goal, because I just recently cut it from tailbone length to mid back length, and I may cut it again, mostly because long fine hair requires a lot of care, and frankly, it just stresses me out. 😅🥹 so we shall see. 🥹🌸
