Have recorded drums several times for different projects at Charlie's studio, all came out amazing sounding. And the best rates in town. Not to mention he's a great drummer and he will tune, dial tones and take care of the drum set throughout the recording session!
This stuff is so much more informative than anything else anyone is putting up. Room control is such a daunting task, but your approach to it is a fantastic example of how to experiment and improve your situation. Thanks, man!
Sounds really good. I love placing the kit in the corner of a room. It really accentuates the low end of the kit and the toms. Makes them sound like massive cannons!
Amateur engineer here, but I really like the sound of the 4050's. They seem to add a litle brightness and clarity that allows you to keep you close mics warm and fat. Sounds really good. And that close kick sound is ridonkulous.
Hey Charlie, awesome live room, did you do all that yourself? It's great. One question about your console...how does the transformer inputs compare to the clean channels? I know the 88 has those options for tranformers. You have 8 channels of them, is that correct? I also watched a few of your drum videos and the tones are awesome. Thanks so much for the videos, let me know your opinions on the comparison between the clean channels and transformer channels. Thanks again!!
What are the overheads on the kit? They sound great on the cymbals. Really pleasant sounding with no sharp/shrillness about them. But maybe that's part of the treatment as well?

The room, the mics the kit -- all sound great. Solid playing too. You have a great space.
The room sounds GREAT, Charlie! Really lively, nice decay, good depth...the mics are picking it up well...every change you've made is for the better!
I love this channel. I remember Charlie from back when doing Gibraltar hardware stuff. Dude is a killer drummer and engineer. Awesome channel
Thank you so much!!! I appreciate it!

I work nights and this was an awesome start to my day. Thank you!
I can notice a difference! Sounds even awesome-er. Kudos for the hard work on the room and for continually experimenting. It’s inspiring.
You've dialed it in pretty well!👍
Nice room sound, and perfect tuned kit. 🙂
Thanks for making this video. Helps so much in the struggle.
Sounds great Charlie!!
Good stuff, Charlie. The room and all of the different mics are doing good things for that kit. But Crikey, you're a heavy hitter, mate! LOL 😜

Did you align the tracks in this?

Nice.
Great work, sir. Can you tell us the dimensions of your room? Thanks from the Netherlands.

Roswell Aztec's!
Hoe did you decide on the distance of those several sets of room mics? Is there a rule of thumb? Or trial or experience? Thanks. Sounds amazing!
