I still to this day since the launch think that tekken 7 was the laziest tekken game they made with no iconic soundtrack, forgetful stages and one thing that irritates me the most as a steve main the fucking glove hit box in the intro 0:00 (fist dont touch if you dont have boxing gloves on ) but 2:48 they suddenly touch?!! There are many more such things like a bad models (DVJ which was literally jin with cosmetics) etc etc In my opinion the reason tekken 7 got saved was the gameplay was the best ever (thats why they didnt change the movements in T8) and the DLC characters and it being the only tekken game available ofc. wtf does steve do after a blocked rage art now? I'm really shocked they removed b2 launching normally. But we kept the CH focused stance heavy gameplay so I'm happy. I expected steve to take major changes because of that story preview and 8's focus on aggression and less CH launchers.
They could fix his appearance by sharpening up his jawline and improving the hair a little too. That's it. Other than that a few redo's to some VO lines wouldn't hurt either.
Aside from how ugly he became in T8, he already doesn't have any launchers up to his 17f b2 one, and even this is no longer a launcher! Even Shiro Hideki was assasinated and replaced with a masseuse f/up after his df2 CH.
Honestly, I like these changes. They easily could give him i15 launcher or normal hit launching b1 with heat dash. They are going full on with his boxing character archtype and it's 100% more unique and interesting then what Leo showed previously.

His heat smash reminds me of his sfxt super move and his rage art got dudley spitting out his tea cause it looks almost like duds' rolling thunder. Ducking right 1,2 , b 2 and u/f 2 change hurts my soul, d/f 2 counter hit nerf doesn't bother me too much cause I can't land shiro combo on the regular anyway.

You know at this rate Im surprised how people didn't even realise that every character in Tekken 8 got nerfed. Especially counter hit and some low launchers. to be honest tekken 8 has fewer launchers and combo does less damage unless you use a lot of resources or you are at the wall. so i don't consider it a nerf since the game want less launcher. now we'll see when the game is out
First thing I noticed was those punches didn’t lift up off the ground anymore for a combo.. I’m happy because as someone who refuses to play him, it made me happy to see y’all lose that combo route. Shxt was undeserving, execution or not. And yes, I’m a hater. I’d like to see him keep getting nerfed.
i'd say his rage art is better, not just in looks, but since its now a mid instead of a high that can be easily ducked like jins in tekken 7. a lot of them think its safe because of the pushback, but ive ducked them so many times by now just to launch them its hilarious.
High ones are actually good coz they are fast at 13 Frames and if used properly they can even be used as punishers! I played both jin & Steve and I've use both of there Rage Arts as punishers against hopkicks
B2 not launching just seems wild to me. I wonder how much B2 + massage will do, 50~55? Maybe more. That switch stance flicker does look strong, if that guard break guarantees 1,1,2 that will be a very good keep out tool, although it looks like death on whiff (it may reach so far that you practically cannot punish it tho). Overall Steve looks like he'll focus way more on his core gameplan of poking away and getting those juicy B1s, same as allways, although the new clinch and heat ducks may make him a menace, especially if he can restore his heat somehow.
Just like another commenter said, B2 to gatling is all "true" damage. None of it is recoverable since the opponent is standing. This could be big for Steve's game plan, getting hits in to permanently remove a good chunk of the opponent's health rather than focus on aerial combos for nearly half health that is recoverable later.
This is only gonna really affect DougFromParis cause he actually knows what he’s doing unlike the majority of the player base that uses Steve. Y’all don’t gotta worry about these changes and nerfs. I strongly believe only 3% is solid with steve.
