Thanks for the motivation. I think I can do it. I think mine needs to be replaced soon. Sometimes I have to try a couple of times to make it start. Can’t really describe the sounds it make at times before it starts but it doesn’t sound good.

I don’t have that sensor connection, I have the same old Starter you removed. I have a 2006 Century.
What do you recommend for the new Starter as to figuring out the wire plug situation

Do I need a 1/2” impact to crack the bolts? My small 1/4” can’t get to it

Really wish you would have taken more time looking over the wiring before and after.

I hope you put antisieze on them bolts. If not, when that starter goes bad. 😂😂😂

If someone doesn't use antiseize, you pull out a torch and heat the clutch bell housing up. Antiseize mixed with grease is less likely to be washed out by water. For the Tierods and rear shock bolts

10:16 any idea if this starter will work on an 11.1 series 60? The only difference is the crank and rods from what I understand. My truck is a 1994 freightliner. Got a good source for the starter? Thanks

As far as I know, everything is the same on that engine except the crankshaft, rods, and pistons. It's the toughest one and the rod bearing width was designed for the 11.1. I believe the 14 liter has the same rod bearing width and rod thickness, so a 14 liter can definitely blow up at 600hp over an 11.1. Starter motor likely works with all 3 versions, call shop ask for measurements eye to eye in the mount holes, compare to 12.7. Or see if the same starter motor comes up for both vins. Find 2 vins on Google for sale, one with 11.1 and 12.7, call freightliner give both vins and say starter motor.
