    Hey what about screeching noise when turning the key. I have to hold it for 5 seconds before it cranks in which I don't want to do. The other way i like to do is to turn the key back off and try again until it cranks. Don't know if i have a grounding issue

      Best practice is to tie up the wiring to each other with zip tie so you know where everything goes. Or worst case take pic before removal. Being a 16 everything should be color coded red or black so black on bottom will be your best bet.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 года назад +1

      Great question man and thanks for watching. Long cranks are usually contributed to high resistance. So if your familiar with a multimeter than I’d check ur starter cables and all your battery cables. Often times. Corrosion eats away the cable and a power loss can happen which causes high resistance and longer cranks. Hope that helps.

    The truck won't start no crank sound just giving the click normal sound when I try to fireup no check engine light showing and by the way I'm sure my truck has power but still no start .
    I was doing just too make sure using the battery cable to make sure charging up the truck battery for some time than try again but the truck still no start and no crank sound.
    not sure what's going on .

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for reaching out man. Appreciate you watching my videos. When your truck makes the click sound of the relays it’s saying everything inside the cab has power. Next step is to have someone key on while your at the starter and see if the top mag switch solenoid is clicking. If so it could be sticking. If not clicking I would want to check power and see if there’s 12v at the signal wire on top of the mag solenoid. If so I would smack the starter with a hammer from the bottom and that should break it free while someone is cranking the eng. that will start the truck and get you somewhere safe to get the starter replaced. Hope that helps give some insight into troubleshooting.

    Hey boss my truck just keeps clicking I change the starter in December it’s rapid click had someone come and said it’s the battery witch I change in October got new battery still the issue is it difficult to change all the battery cables?

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 года назад

      Thanks for reaching out. It’s a good chance your batteries could still be having issues or just a faulty starter. Once tested if both of those pass than I’d look at the cables at batteries and to starter and alternator. Sometimes they’ll be built up with corrosion and have high resistance that would cause that issue. But just the battery cables ,not hard at all and you would be able to change out pretty quickly. But definitely get the system tested with someone you trust first.
