Definitely learned many things from this, weather I can do any of them is another thing.. the barn looks exactly like the ones I see on my many travels. You did an amazing job. Your friend will be happy to have it..
Man the end result it just phenomenal! You have the courage of your convictions. There were a bunch of times I would have just freaked out and taken it outside with a rattlecan. Thanks for showing this, it was really cool.
Now that's absolutely a must try! The realism is incredible, and the only thing now is for hay to be in the hayloft with chickens nesting in there with an old farm tractor! Great job! 👍👍
I sure do like the techniques you used to airbrush this barn. I didn't realize that you could detail like you did on the structure itself with an airbrush. Now I've got to give this a try. It sure came out looking great. I've got a scratch built structure with board & batten siding I'd like to try out this technique. Cheers from eastern TN
Very nicely done building! The wood looks especially good. Maybe use a brush to paint details like latch and hinges before the other colors? I used a Pasche H for many years along with a VL but for acrylics I now use a Talon which doesn't clog as much and is easier/faster to clean. Looking forward to your future videos.
Organic materials react differently to paint, washes etc. So for wood, concrete, pavement, metal etc, I like to use styrene so I have better control over the finished product.
As someone in NC where I see what's left of these barns on the sides of the road etc. This is awesome...great attention to detail!!!
Thank you, it’s a common rural motif.
35 minutes of... master modeling , 2nd to none...absolutely enjoyed watching you work 👍👍DD
Thank you Darrell, I appreciate that.

Thank you, once you understand the techniques it just takes a little bit of practice. There’s no magic here, it’s all pretty straight forward.

You’re welcome Bill and thank you for your kind words. Sharing the steps was a pleasure. We all get better together.
Awesome detail, looks amazing. Excellent job! 💯
Thank you, John.
The mottling technique has been used in military arenas for some time and it definitely is needed to be shown more in the model railroad side. Kudos!
That’s very true, the military modelers especially in the diorama genre are incredibly talented.
The cross-usages between military modelers and model railroader has propelled the hobbies into new territories.@@PostmoderneModelWorks

Very good video. Your advice about dealing with mistakes is very helpful.
Thank you. We all makes mistakes, the trick is to work though them.

From the photos, I really thought this was going to be built out of wood.

@@PostmoderneModelWorks makes a lot of sense, it just looked like real wood.

If you need tiny rod, use guitar strings
That’s a good tip, thanks.
