My 2.5 years of kiteboarding progression

Hi I am a 20 yo kiteboarder who started kiteboarding in september of 2021.
My first gear was a Core xr6 8sqm, a sensor 2s bar and a slingshot board which was 138*42 cm big. In october in 2022 i started upgrading my gear and wanted to progress in big air. As many of you might have noticed I did not have an insane 1 year progression like many of the other people who uploaded their stories. But I firmly believe anybody can become a great kiteboarder and with this video I hope to inspire some people who also have a slower progression.

starting to loop in such a small amount of time is really cool
Kiteboarding is like working out as a newbie you get those beginner gains until you hit that Plateau. Gets a lot harder to progress as your skills develop.

kite is weird in that way, beggining can be tricky and hard, but when you start plaining its easy and relatively easy to start jumping etc. windsurfing is easy until you start planing and then it gets harder as you go
the progression from having friends who are filming you to biting on your floaty and doing the content yourself 😅 sick progress!
Credits Go to my father he filmed me because he needed to drive me to the spot as I wasn't 18 then and couldn't drive to the spot by myself.

Really nice, I was able to get to riding back and forth without transitions in about 10-12 classes. It would be amazing if you could make a video how to speed up the learning progress and point where you found the 80/20 gains. 🙏
Really impressive fast progression, I wish I had more wind in germany, because sadly I only had four sessions in the 6 weeks of summer holidays and as soon as you come back and the holidays stop, it blows 25 knots the whole week and I can't get to the sea! I've been kitesurfing for three years and it's always the same with the wind.
My progression is because of that very slow, but at least I jump 3 meters, but it takes a few more years until I'm at your level.
Yeah that is annoying. I started when I was 17 so I know the trouble. But keep pushing and you will improve fast.
Awesome stuff. Watching this, I could sooo feel the hype of my first powered loops last year again, that yank just gives you the rush! Your regular jumps and landings are wayyy better than mine though. xD

Good job mate, looks very nice. How often did you have sessions within these 2.5 years on average?
About once a week on an one year average.
@@wolff8131 Thanks for the answer! This gives me somewhat rough approximation on how long will I have to wait until I'm able to do those lovely kiteloops 🤩 I'm on the very beginner phase and learning upwind riding, planning to buy my own equipment this fall.

@@wolff8131 yeah i know but the gear is quite expensive and the next place i could do that is like 200 km away..
I looking forward to make my first stets this or at least mext year
@@ReinersBlauerHoden yeah water sports are quite expensive. But I can only recommend taking lessons first which are also not that cheap but you will be less likely to destroy your gear and most schools offer a special discount to newcomers for their first kite equipment.

Could you introduce all the kites you've used during the process? Seems several core and an eleveight.
Yes I only ride core. I started on an xr6 8sqm and then I got an xr7 11 sqm and 8sqm a year after I started kite surfing. The eleveight clips were from a test event in June of 2023

it is much better to use north orbit for loop progression :)
I know that the xr just doesn't loop too well that's why I am planning to change brands and I am still saving up for that🤙
