I get you a question i want buy it the problem im scar if it can damage the blades if your to close to a brick wall or to a tree

Isn't that just going to burn out the motor prematurely?

Nah! Some folks attach them to rechargeable string trimmers. Now, that’s a crazy load for those motors - Same load as a stick edger, I figure. It's really neat as it's basically on/off with power applications. No need to rev when about to cut. Just a very tight and accurate feel when trimming.
