That grass looks amazing Tim. I'd like to get one but too rich for my pocket. They are a great bit of kit, seems a majority of lawn guys and girls are getting them.
I live in a small condo and my small pride & joy is a 16X14 (feet Johnny feet) green patch where I grow grass to my delights. But I have to admit that the line trimer did horrible things to my grass and a lawn mower was too much for my acreage so this tool is just what I been waiting for. But yes I can almost buy a new mower for the price of the scissors. I heard the idea came from Japan?
Looks like the ego rotocut shaft and the idech are similar in price. Is it worthwhile sacrificing a cheaper ego head to wack the idech on or just getting a rotocut shaft? Do they perform on par or is the idech a superior product?
would that "universal" rotary scissors go on my stihl fs 260 ? and would the stihl RG model be as good as this one? I'm hesitating buying the stihl combi system with the stihl rg scissors or simply buying this universal one in your video and put it on my stihl strimmer as the design seems better and it looks very stiff and better quality than the stihl RG to me
I see a LOT of people using these. But I woudnt buy one for any purpose. At least where I live, I live on sandy soil. imagine what the effects on the blades would be when you dig that device into the grass and into the sand. I would much rather use something like a string trimmer that has a disposable blade that is continuously renewed as you feed new line out and can cut larger swaths of grass much more quickly than these rotary devices. I guess if it works for your purposes, great. Not to mention they are very expensive. I have no problem spending money on something that works. I purchased a $600 fertilizer spreader because I wanted quality. I could have purchased a $40 scotts brand and got by. I have many, many examples like this where I spent way more than the common product costs to get quality and some feature(s) that the cheaper alternative didnt give me. My point is, my reasons to not get one of these has zero to do with cost. But they are very costly.
Absolutely different. One cuts, the other rips/tears. Much cleaner cut leaves a better finish. That’s why I also have a cylinder mower. Cuts like scissors, doesn’t slash.
I am sure professionals who are highly skilled and need something industrial strength would agree with you. However, for homeowners who want to protect their fences from damage without a high level of skill they are definitely worth it. They cost about $250 and that will pay for itself after a few months of not having to pay a lawn crew to do your lawn.
I truly enjoy your videos introducing and describing lawn care equipment. Some of these new tools are simply amazing.
Thank you very much!
I love to see what tools you use, whether they work properly, how to attach them and so on. Very informative channel Tim Thank you ❤🙏👍🤗
Nice tool, looks like. Goes on easily; good teaching demo.
Thanks mate
My string trimmer is a curved shaft. Can I use the rotary scissors on it?

They sure are pricey
Great video. Conversation looks easy, but I am looking at buying an AEG 58 V kit. Would you know if it would fit? Look forward to any response.

Love mine it cops a bit of abuse up against the fence and brick edging. Seems to be going well. Don't think I'll ever go back to the string again 😁
Really?
@@turfandtools 12 months so far so good. See how it goes 😁

Can I use this video on Amazon to let more people know about and use this product?
Would be nice to mow the lawn but the hip deep snow kinda stops that lol. Anyways nice video Tim.
Great video mate!! Which Milwaukee shaft is that? 18v or 36v? Thanks in advance
Great video! Quick question: between the Ego Rotocut and the Idech Rotary Scissors, which one works best for edging ?
If you’re talking vertical edging, the people at Ego told me it wasn’t meant for verticals.
Would it fit the Honda line trimmer
Yes… sort of. You need to file the drive shaft from a D shape to a square shape to fit the square adapter
Were there any voltage requirements?
I don’t know. This is on an 18v Milwaukee unit
dont look to bad of a cutter them adaptor look great aswell multi fit
Can you get discount codes for these?
I don’t sorry
150 dollars US on eBay now

how much does that weigh? sincerely, the wimpy gardener
1.8kg according to their website
❤
Is not worth the money. Is slower than other trimmers and no different in the cutting edging or trimming.
