I’ll never forget the stock market crash of 2008. My dad lost his job of 21 years (1988-2009) & we lived off his unemployment & under-the-table construction work. It was the most depressing time of my childhood. I was born in 1993 & I was about to get my license. It was supposed to be a happy time of my life, but I was so so sad for my dad but we eventually got back on our feet. It took a couple years, but dad got back on his feet. But I’ll never ever forget that time in my life. We almost lost our home, but didn’t because dad was being paid under-the-table by his construction boss, who offered him that job out of pure pity. My dad was not one to break laws & work/get paid illegally (off the books) but desperate times called for desperate measures. It is still to this day the only time I can think of my dad breaking his moral code as an honest hardworking man.

I am also a Connecticut resident (born and raised here) and I lived in Newtown as a young kid 1994 -1996. My mother had just gotten divorced from my dad and was dating a man who had a daughter my same age. I only have one biological brother, so it was cool having a sister for that period of time. We lived together for a year and half, but we lost touch after our parents broke up. When the Sandy Hook tragedy happened (I went to the other elementary called Middlegate) I went on Facebook and found my "sister". We chatted for a while, and then decided that we should reunite and bring some good vibes/karma to Newtown. It was a wonderful reunion, and we both paid our respects and prayed for the children.

The list was decent. But I think certain things should have been added over others.
2009- *Michael Jackson's death.* Michael was a worldwide phenomenon that influenced millions of people so much that when he passed, they had to do a televised version of his funeral.
I understand them going with Obama in 2009 and the financial crash in 2008.
2010: *The Earthquake in Haiti.* The earthquake completely destroyed infastructure to the point that the country fell into chaos. What made it worse is the fact that when they send the U.N. troops to help bring in orders, a number of troops have contributed to the chaos by sexually assaulting women and children. Let not forget the entire drama of the Clinton foundation stopping the *billions* of dollars in funds that were raised for Haiti to be released to them.
I understand that the oil spill was pretty big news, but what happened in Haiti was huge as well and shouldn't be overlooked.
2012: *Sandy Hook School shooting.* That was the 1st time in amercan history where there was a shooting at an elementary school, which resulted in numerous students and teachers dead.
The blowback led to many changes in federal and state gun laws to reduce the chances of something like this happening again. This was huge news.

Well I was born in 2001, I was only a couple months old when 9/11 happened. I wasn’t in Manhattan but I was in a close borough with my mom. My mom remembers my grandma frantically calling her from Mexico and asking if we were okay. Thankfully we were fine but you can see how much 9/11 still impacts New York and it’s people. Years later one of my moms bosses had a son who was a fire fighter working on 9/11 who had died because of the toxic dust. Today as a college student, I walk past the 9/11 memorial every time I go to school and there’s not a day where there’s not at least one person there. To this day we have a moment of silence every September 11th. I was only a baby when it happened but hearing all the stories from people around me really makes me feel what they went through. I also recently went to watch the Broadway show “Come From Away” which is based around 9/11 and it is beautiful, I definitely sobbed while watching it.

So in 06, we get a train bombing in Mumbai that kills over 200, a stampede during a festival in Mecca that kills well over 300, and the biggest breaking news is……Pluto being demoted? Pretty sure they just waited for the regular broadcast to announce that. Pluto IS a planet, and I'll defend it until I'm dead and buried in the ground. Saying Pluto isn't a planet is like saying diminutive people are not the same as tall people. We're all brothers and sisters on a cosmological scale, and Pluto is our cold, distant godparent. I respect you, Pluto. You're not just a pebble to me.

Pluto is not a planet, if you go by the aggrandise conclusive of each particle of the solar system, it doesn't have the same velocity or magnitude any other planet has in our solar system. Therefore it's not conclusive anachronistic data.

Pence refused to overturn the election results when they were certifying Biden’s win, Trump claimed that Pence had the power to do that as Vice President (which he technically can’t do)
Trump was & still is to this day furious with him . It also didn’t help that the mob was planning on capturing on hanging Mike Pence for his so called “traitorous” actions that Trump encouraged and surely enjoyed watching this unfold at the White House.
